Zhu Yuan's kit is boosted when there is a Support character on her team. Nicole's is boosted when there is another Ether character. so pairing Zhu with Nicole activates both of their boosts. Zhu also has another boost in her kit where she does more damage against stunned enemies, so the team will need a Stun character too. Lycoan or Amby? While Lycoan is a better stunner - maybe - using Amby triggers her special kit boost because you have 2 Cunning Hares on the team.

I’m glad to hear your perspective on this, I personally felt it isn’t beneficial to do mono element this early in the game because you most likely will just have 2 teams built. So having multiple elements within a team might be the move until you have a mono team for each element or something
Yes, they are the same but just to add more info just in case some people are Fans of Rina and might doubt pulling for her on the Standard. Rina's Core passive, which its ability is to give out the team a Pen Ratio buff (pen ratio makes your characters attacks ignore Def) Rina's Pen ratio buff r depends on how high OWN Pen ratio stat. which Pen ratio can be acquired through W engines and Disc and maybe later characters that can give Pen ratio stats. In this case Rina's Pen ratio buff can go higher and be a bigger Def shred. than Nicole's Def shred passive which maxes out at 40% on Nicole's Skill page. and there is also another difference with how Rina doesn't need to hit any enemies to apply the Ignore def buff. for Nicole she needs to hit enemies with her bullets and her Ether Ball attack to apply the shred. While Rina needs to only summon her Bungaboos one to Activate her Core passive and everyone gets a passive ignore def. Rina can bring better performance when it comes to Aoe Scenarios. where in scenarios Nicole's can't hit every enemy since they space to much and her Ether ball doesn't hit every enemy. not huge of a difference since focusing on enemy is always a thing in ZZZ but its a plus on Rina when she can just def shred everyone without needing a shot to hit an enemy. so basically - Yes pull For Rina she is basically an S tier version of Nicole. now you have two def shred supports.
This is a good enough excuse for me to use Nicole. I find soukaku insanely annoying to use because of her long chain attack. It ruins the flow of combat imo.
Yesterday I started pairing Soukaku with Nicole to test her damage and it works out very nicely. I don't have Ellen, so this is the alternative that works. But eventually Nicole has to pair with Zhu Yuan, so it's not a forever solution.
What’s up with Nicole’s core passive? It says def shred happens when using energy field OR enhanced bullets? What is enhanced bullets? I assume it was whenever she uses her bullet resource to attack but I only see the short def shred when using the energy field. Tested this on training dummy
Now I feel better leaving my M4 Soukaku collecting dust while my Nicole is built. (Primary reason is I do not have an Ice team, lost 50/50 to Koleda and now I'm skipping Ellen for Zhu Yuan)
The crazy thing is that she's COMPLETELY free! the first character you get in fact AND she's beautiful as well and has the most confortable ability to group enemies, now compare that to getting Amber or Lisa in Genshin? those are characters you would only use for elemental puzzles and never again, is crazy! she could easily be a S rank
This is an interesting video, it confirmed my suspicions of people being stuck in what other people are deeming as “Best” for roles. I found that it does depend on the sort of team you go for, my AAA team is fine for damage, surprisingly so. My SAA team is good damage, but the characters I like playing as compared to the better team comp make a small difference, most of the difference is in damage type or opportunity, but there’s some fun complexity within gameplay mechanics that allows you to make a really dumb comp but it still works towards defeating what you need in end game.
Freaking love Nicole! My biggest issue with her vs Sukakou is that it feels like she needs more energy for her debuffs... Sukakou can get by without spending energy in a lot of scenarios to provide her buffs.
I dont get why does everyone put Soukaku at T0. She needs as much time on field as she buffs, she has 1 team and sux with every other team. If u dont have Ellen she is worst then every other support who can buff with a quick swap. I dont think that if a character has 1 usecase (even in the meta comp) should be valued more then other supports who can do as much as her or more in every other comp, not to mention that if u dont have Ellen or Lycaon she has no synergy atm.
She is just very easy to play, use hold special to swap to attacker and that’s it keep the buff going. And her personal dps is kinda high too but yeah I like Nicole better
Yeah like Lucy's buff is party wide, and with how powerful dp assists can be you'd be buffing the damage of everything involved in that, while Soukaku only buffs one character and the buff goes away if you switch
for Shiyu Polychromes should I use battery charge once i hit 40? i hope this is covered in 40-45 but i’m pretty sure all battery savers aren’t level 40 by now
Do I miss something or is this game unbelieveable stingy with free standard pulls.... level 35 now and besides the first few rewards seems super slow to get any free pulls at all. Compared to other games I played this game seems to be VERY limited and f2p unfriendly.
it is pretty slow but they were quite generous already in my opinion, people are already at like 120-130 total pulls. for reference it took ~1 year for most players to reach the 300 selector in hsr
i already got more standard pulls in this game than honkai star rail and genshin?? what are we on about i havent even cleared shiyu defense 8 and i already have around 120 pulls saved up excluding around 50 or so that i already spent
Similar in that regard to Genshin. Standard pulls are more difficult to come by than premium but sinxe polychromes can be xonverted both ways. I guess thats their rationale
Really??? I disagree, I got 100+ pulls saved up for second half, did you do quests and collect chests from the overworld? also shiyu defense also gives a crap ton of pulls.
Just for the love of all thats holy dont mega invest into any b ranks except like 1 or 2 of them but over all all A to S rank balls are worth its a stat buff
But you need to consider as well that "Tryfing" monster is Ethernal, which means it is vulnerable to ETHER DAMAGE maybe that is why Nicole deals more damage.
Nicole should be compared with Rina,not Soukaku,but i do think Nicole is much better than Rina if you don't have Grace. Rina is the most overrated character in the game
