The lightsaber duel with Palpatine is the best one in the game, it's so challenging yet not too difficult. A perfect test of skill. Then theres the 360 version, which was a joke.
I played the Psp version and Palps is no joke whatsoever, he is frenetic, spaming lightsaber throws and lightning, I barely died to anyone on the game before meeting Palpatine boss
Esit: Wait is the ps3 fight different then the xbox 360 fight for Force Unleashed palps? Cause Vader was hell on xbox 360 sith master difficulty. The dark sidr final fight. I had to look at a video and make a new combo just to kill him.
@@Eric6761 i knew that different ports had different difficulties to them but i thought that ps3 and xbox 360 would be basically identical. Vs ps2 version and the ds version being so different
No he didn't. Something this video didn't mention is that during the duel with Starkiller the blind Jedi was able to steal Palpatine's light saber and almost struck him down. You can even see the shock on Palpatine's face when it happens. Palpatine was at a point where no one could challenge his mastery of the force so having a light saber only served as a threat to himself. The video I am referring to is here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7hcg1DarMEk.html
@@noahbriggs8347 Knowing Palpatine I really don't think so because not only is it a saftey issue but it's a matter of pride. But if he did I don't think it really takes away from the story
I think Sidous was being a bitter egotistical if I were Sidous and survived the fight with Starkiller I would keep my lightsaber even closer then before and take it as a sign from the Force that there always be a powerful enemy coming for me one way or another
It’s canon that he lost to Windu as stated by Lucas and the books. Windu’s Vapaad is Sith cryptonite, he completely underestimated Windu and just got lucky that Anakin arrived.
I like the contrast between Sidious Retiring his lightsaber and Yoda doing the same on Dagobah (in Legends). Yoda finally acknowledged the Sith had evolved in their hiding while the Jedi grew stagnant serving the Senate instead of the Will of the Force; and swore never to use his Jedi weapon to hunt for food. Meanwhile Sidious believed himself superior to lightsabers and they were obsolete after the extinction of the Jedi.
There are certain similarities between Palpatine and High Inquisitor Jerec. When facing dangerous enemies, both men most often rely on their dark side Force abilities, only wielding their lightsabers when necessary (Sidious only using a saber to mock the Jedi while Jerec used one out of necessity). They both also well versed in Jedi and Sith lore, making them remarkable scholars. I think if Darth Vader wasn’t around, Jerec would’ve made a suitable replacement as Sidious’ apprentice (hypothetically of course)
@@TheStupendousWave Hi! I have two questions. The first one that when and in which continuity Sidious used red force lightning? And the second one I heard that the novelization is the canon depiction of the game and according to the novel Sidious pretended to be weak and fell to his knees without a fight to fool Starkiller.
@@kritizismmusics9737 we need a current console & pc remake to where he makes a win and a remake for the force unleashed 2 to make it where the story has a ending and not a cliffhanger.
For me Sidious always keep his lightsaber in his sleeve (including the events of Return of the Jedi) We cannot ignore he also had a Jedi blue lightsaber as we saw in Dark Empire comic greetings from Spain
I could also theorize that if starkiller killed sidious on TFU 1 he woulve destroyed him permenantly as perhaps maybe its Vaders fault for making a clone factory on kamino that gave sidious the idea of cloning himself. So its thanks to Force Unleashed 2, that Sidious cloned himself for Dark Empire.
And the only to directly whoop his ass and make him resort to essentially using so much force power it causes an explosion and kill them via the explosion. Gaelin didn’t even die to the lightning itself. He died to a resulting explosion while holding off the lightning. Gaelin is a fucking monster
This is great holocron. Great story. Maybe he hid in his office on Coruscant. In a statue. Makes sense. Very brutal last fight with his lightsaber. May the Force be with you too😊
The funny thing is that the Lightsaber was originally a Sith creation. After the Jedi Order discovered it they created their own versions, mostly to counter the new weapon being used in combat by their enemies. Eventually the Rule of 2 tradition demanded Sith apprentices to kill a Jedi and dismantle their lightsaber to take their crystal and bleed it to complete their training.
Palpatine has always fought against Jedi who battled in the traditional sense. The Jedi usually hold back, and Palpatine always used this against them. They aren't used to fighting aggressive opponents. Starkiller in some ways was just like him. Palpatine hadn't fought anyone that aggressive in a long time.
I wonder when he stopped using his lightsaber in canon because in one of the comic he sparred with Vader and it took place after the empire strikes back
This is an interesting video because for me, I've only played TFU 1 and 2 and only heard slight things from the comics for Star's character. And what I usually heard was that Palpatine was WWAAAAAYYYYYY stronger than Star. So hearing how Star could have potentially be stronger than Palpatine is surprising.
Gameplay Wise, in the PS3/Xbox version, so the good one, this fight was move focused on force abilities and that suited Palpatine rather well, to make him different form the other boss battle up to that point. A shame it was so easy though but it was still fun. It's hilarious to me that Vader fighting like a wounded animal and some crazy gnome with a swpeer and cybernetic limbs are both harder to kill than the emperor. Hell, that one super rancore was kind of harder than him too lol.
Sidious, like many brilliant people, always made sure that he had options and contingencies. I think he would never have totally given up his light saber.
Windu not only had vapaad but also a power that can only a few lucky ones get since birth, so it can't be learned, which is some kind of future sight. like he can just see what he has to do, to make the future a positive outcome and he also sees the weak points through that. which also helped him in the fight against palp. Windu is most underrated and broken character and palp gave his 100% against him.
Not at first. He was drawing it out. But Windu eventually got his Vaapad up and going, and using both that and Shatterpoint, he was able to bring the duel to s draw. But Sidious could have made it a Force battle or take it to the Senate Rotunda, where he would defeat Windu easily, but he didn't. So yes, in some ways, he did hold back.
Y'all never wanna give Windu credit when George Lucas said out his mouth the creator btw Mace won he didn't say " on palp was drawing it out" give the man his credit.
Palpatine was a master liar. I suspect Luke knew there was a saber under Sidious’s cloak. Luke knew first that he was in a fight for the soul of his father. Luke surveyed palpatine and correctly saw him as no threat without an ally. Luke took the emperor’s greatest weapon: his slave. And used it against him.
Ever since Anakin burned on Mustafar for years Sidious was in this belief that he would never find another powerful being that could equal him in the force led alone surpass him until someone like Starkiller or Luke Skywalker was presented
Actually I can see why Palpatine found light sabers obsolete by Sith standards. I mean if you can force push a person. You electrocute them with force lightening. And you can choke via TV monitor; then you don't have to engage in silly light saber duels. Why even have a light saber when you can use the force to make some shoot themselves with their own blaster. Then again force choke and force lightening are prohibited by the jedi but, nevertheless.
Man, say what you want about the games' difficulty, the story and lots of scenes were amazing and made my body hair rise with sheer hype. Like the scene of Starkiller crashing the Destroyer.
Good advice read the books from TFU 1 and 2. The Character development from Galen is way better written, is not so overpowered like the games and fixed the relationship with much better with Juno. Plus in the second Book u have more Details about the early stage from the Rebellion and their struggles
Plus i can recommend reading Shadows of the Empire. It describes the Plothole between Episode 5 and 6, Luke's development as Jedi knight, reading about a powerless Darth Vader against a non force User called Syndicate Leader Prince Xizor because Xizor uses the relationship to the Emperor against Vader. Dash Rendar as side character was pretty good
I love how so in his own ass sidious is to say Galen would have been his equal... I'm sorry but no, sidious is wrong... If Galen Merik(Merrick/Merrik/Marik?) had been even slightly more knowledgeable in certain semi-defensive force abilities (such as a total redirection of force lightning or something similar to making a force cage to contain and absorb the lightning, etc) he would have completely annihilated sidious in their duel... That tells me that Galen easily had the potential to be even more powerful than sidious... Levels of power rivaling Anakin after ascending and taking The Father's place in Mortis(Mortus?) (I suck at remembering spellings sometimes lol)
Sidious would rarely ever use his lightsaber depending on the situation he finds himself in and that alone makes him way more unpredictable than Darth Vader
Now I might be reading too much into this but in think Sidous was going to transfer his consciousness into Starkiller’s body, I theorize that Sidous on some deep subconscious level must have understood his clone bodies were not going to work and he was going betting young Sith turned Jedi into a new host body. For I think that is the real question why would convince Starkiller to strike him down in he really wanted to live forever
Funny weren't there jedi who evolved from the lightsaber....do a compilation on all the force welders who evolved past the saber and there reasoning pls
What sustained Sidious in his saber skills during the battle with Yoda was his superior force powers. In fact, he was more powerful in the force than Yoda and equally knowledgeable, with his expertise in the dark side matching Yoda's in the light. This knowledge was a legacy of the thousand years of the Rule of Two. Sidious' incredible speed enabled him to match Yoda, but ultimately, Yoda's skill outmaneuvered him.
Yoda was not equally knowledgeable at all with yoda at the time of ROTS it was only in ANH where sidious was equal and by the time of ROTJ was he more knowledgeable.
Anyone please tell me why people thinks Master Mace Windu won his lightsaber battle against Palpatine? I all ways thought Palpatine played Windu because it was perfect time to make Anakin turn to the dark side because Windu was all ways hard on Anakin from the beginning to the end and Palpatine needed Windu to defeated him to show Anakin when he got there (Palpatine know Anakin be there because Anakin needed him to save Padme) also, to show the Jedi was taking over. I think only other actually defeated Palpatine in lightsaber battle and almost the force was Yoda. Also, is funny Palpatine almost escaped before fighting Yoda but, he went on a full attack on four high ranking Jedi’s included Windu. I can’t confess myself thinking Windu was the lightsaber battle against Palpatine he was a master manipulator. I consider Palpatine the greatest movie villain of all time.
He actually didn't defeat Galen. Galen defeated him, and once Sidious Kota off guard, Galen had to step in to directly contest his lightning and was rivaling him, putting Sidious in severe pain. He then entered Oneness, which made him surpass Sidious completely, but he had to direct his explosion behind him to kill the Stormtroopers trying to gun down the fleeing rebels, as opposed to directing it all against Sidious.
You’re forgetting about this badass moment when Sideous killed 3 Jedi easily …. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JP4r1ACyBUs.htmlsi=dM9Q9dJe_sBVoqsi Plus he’s drawn his saber in sparring with and beaten Vader easily .
Clone or not it funny that Sidious he said after he defeated Starkiller that he is more powerful then ever his sacrifice would only inspire the rebellion and he came back more powerful then ever I always wondered who would have happened if they met again.
No Palpatine didn't allow anything against Windu, he was defeated as per GLucas himself. And you can only fly in the air, not in the water or the earth. Thats as far as I got on the video.
I always hate it how they say if a Jedi strikes down a Sith they give in to the dark side... BS!!! I fail to see how striking down an evil person makes you evil. It's just taking out the trash 🤷 Nothing will ever change in my mind that Starkiller "BEAT" Vader and Sidious in combat!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
@@alsimmonshellspawn6021 He 1v1 the Emperor, the only being in canon that did it after the clone wars was Vader in the canon. But legends Vader is way less impressive than canon Vader nowdays.
Thats true. I read TFU 1 and 2 the book Version and I have to say in the books he is not so op as in the games. Plus in the books they fixed the Plot from TFU 1 and 2 way better than the game in terms of the early stage of the Rebellion the Relationship between Galen and Juno and Kota as character.
Was he really stronger than Starkiller or did he use Starkiller's softness against him? The Jedi chose not to kill Sidious when they had the chance and he counterattacked them off guard? That's at least what it looks like from the comics you showed. Sounds like they had him against the ropes and then allowed him to catch a breather. Hmm I'm not a fan of that happening in books. Why would the Jedi allow Sidious to live if given the chance to kill him? It makes no sense not like you are going to be able to arrest and imprison him and he's definitely not going to give up being an evil bastard so why let him live.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't care for starkiller. Hes too much of a self insert Mary Sue punching way above his deserved weight class, so this is going to remain non-cannon where it belongs as far as I'm concerned.
I agree. he's cool but I don't consider him canon. I find it odd how so many people defend starkiller even Tho he pulled down a star destroyer and yet hate on Rey for pulling down a transport ship saying its "Mary sue" when at least it makes a little more sense from her because she's a Palpatine
