Are every other demographic of wealth evading their taxes as well in the states that don’t charge a income tax? I guarantee you the person making $30,40,50,60 thousand a year is just as happy not to pay a state income tax, and are definitely not voluntarily paying the state following exact same law are they evading taxes as well?
@@daqshieselthe poors pay every fucking tax what the fuck you talking about. They even get penalties and fees for being poorer than poor. Fuck they even go to jail for being poor. Debtors prison.
As someone who was born and raised in Nashville (I’m 24) PLEASE FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, don’t. Just pay your taxes and be grateful for the boat loads of money you bring in. I’ve watched this city grow my entire life, locals are being pushed out because buying or even renting a house is not affordable anymore. People are buying houses sight unseen, but people who’ve been here their entire lives might not be able to stay here much longer. We cannot afford to stay In our communities anymore.
"locals are being pushed out because buying or even renting a house is not affordable anymore. People are buying houses sight unseen" this is happening literally everywhere in America right now.
I'd take that anyway over paying close to 50% income tax and 1.3% property tax here in Ontario Canada lol. Not to mention your house prices are about half of what we pay here. I'd gladly move to Texas
It'd just state income tax. There's other states that don't even have it like here in Florida. He would still pay his federal income tax like everyone else.
He can afford multiple residences but refuses to contribute to our society- disgusting. When someone like him fails to contribute, they become a burden to others.
This is practically all rich people and they're all disgusting. People reach a certain point of wealth and they change into greedy assholes that will screw over the masses for their own gain.
He's probably contributed more than you ever will. "our" society isn't shared either, we just share a geographic location that's it. And as someone who is trying to entitle yourself to others labor/property YOU and the other welfare queens are the burden to others.
Too late.i live in a town in East TN where I grew up and the average income is probably 35,000 a year. The value of my house has doubled in 2 years and the only new housing we are getting is 300k townhouses.
Gentrification isn't caused by the rich people, it's caused by the government that decided to remove income state tax, government provide incentives for people to move to them, if it's monetary then rich folk will take the tax break and now the poor suffer
@@PsychoSquadPilot gentrification is defined as wealthier people moving into poor areas. And you're basically saying that with an extra step? So why phrase it like you are trying to teach me something? "Um yis, gontrofocation isn't rich people moving in to poor areas, it's government incentivising rich people to move into poor areas" That's you, sounding silly. The state taxes is the catalyst that is causing the gentrification of my home.
Meanwhile I’m forced to pay 30% of my income on taxes with no choice to move out of my tiny studio let alone to another state so I can evade taxes. Eat the rich
He's talking about state income tax and I guarantee nominally, he pays much, much more than you do in federal income tax. Yet you're making him out to be the bad guy while he's subsidizing your existence. Why?
don’t worry, you wouldn’t be able to evade taxes even if you could afford to move to tennessee because states with no state income tax recoup that money by increasing sales, use, and property taxes. so instead of getting taxed proportionally to how much you make and your own financial situation, that money is instead going to get taxed in higher sales and use tax at the same rate that millionaires are getting taxed, taking a higher percentage of your income and a lesser percentage of theirs, in turn making you poorer. evading state income tax like this only benefits the rich because the income that would be getting taxed at a rate (somewhat) proportional to what they (millionaires) make, is instead getting taxed at the exact same amount that you are, barely able to afford your rent. tax loopholes don’t benefit poor people. ever.

Lived in Texas for a bit. I thought it was great not having income tax, then I bought a house and realized where they make up for it at. I bought a $200k house and ended up paying like 17k a year in property taxes.
That method of compensating for no income tax affects the average person far more than the rich. All the taxes the rich pay elsewhere will still total significantly less than what they would pay in income tax.

Maybe they should lower state income taxes to get rid of what you consider a loophole, but different states like to do things different and this could be a way for Tennessee and Texas to stimulate their economies, typically those states make up for it in other ways like property taxes

State taxes aren't even that expensive. It's the federal taxes that suck. Especially since those dollars mostly go to defense contractors and subsidize huge corporations like Walmart and Health insurance companies.

This. The states are going to find the taxes somewhere else. Usually in sales tax and your higher premiums on other products/services.
