Always admired Tab. He was accepting of his sexual orientation as he could be in the homophobist era of the 50s and 60s. It still exists today. It's just not as widespread. Any str8 man who is truly str8 would appreciate Gays because it means less competition for him.
I guess you could say the same thing about women who resent lesbians. I went to an all girl's high school, I only liked boys but recall the homophobic jokes made about the who were either lesbian or presumed lesbian. This was the early to mid 80's. I feel lime a young dinosaur sometimes. I recall a girl asked me to be her prom date, I politely stated, girls don't date girls, how times have changed within a generation. I saw Tab in the movie with Linda Darnell, it was OK. He seemed like a nice guy.
I LOVE clams! I attend every clambake I can. I have a friend who insists he does too--- and bitterly derides anyone there who expresses that they're not all that crazy about them. That they prefer the sausages and biscuits more--- even though it just means all the more clams for my friend. I'm guessing his animus arises from his niggling suspicion that he doesn't really like clams either...
Hi. I never knew who Tab Hunter was until my cousin gave me a book with him on the cover. I instantly fell in love with his looks, those legs. Absolutely gorgeous 🥰
Charles... I fell in love with tab when I was eight or ten. It was in the movie "battle cry". I recall my being stunned when he took off his shirt while romancing the officers wife. Wow, he was perfect. To this day, I'm 78, lean and muscular fellas make my heart skip a beat.

Countless photos of Tab with Sophia Loren and Not a Single Mention of her in all of this. Seems a rather Large Omission! Debbie Reynolds mentioned frequently and No Photo. Not the Best in this series, Tab Hunter deserves much better than this!
It always seemed a little sad that despite all the attempts studio publicity departments made at covering up an actor's sexual preference, many of us knew or suspected anyway. Secrets really weren't success stories, just a depressing double-life for the actor and a way to entangle us as enablers of badly kept secrets. A decent well liked human being, who got caught up in the Hollywood meat grinder.
I am so glad that Tab was able to finally live his life with someone he loved and could be who he was and have some peace away from Hollywood. Sad that the Hollywood system back then was so controling causing so much pain for so many decent people, He was strong enough to remain a kind, easy, person and not become resentful and bitter. Never was a fan but admire him for being a good decent person.
Gorgeous man. It was secret because it really wasn't acceptable back then. I find this very interesting, but will never understand why people care. Especially in a negative way.

Poor Hollywood homosexual actors, who were compelled to live the lie 24/7/365 for decades in sheer terror. I don't admire them anymore. Knowing better about them ( still sketchy information, but better) I feel deep compassion and sympathy for them especially because they had no choice to do otherwise. All their muscles weren't useful against the USA deranged morality and Hollywood's exploitive methods. What can I say: maybe when he was alive he was deeply hunted and unhappy, but right now you are respected as you deserve. Does this help your self-esteem on the other side of existence? I hope so!

The further we search, the tougher it seems to find a few Hollywood chaps (just a FEW!) that were all 'nice and straight!' sans ANY slip-ups of naughty untowardness. Ones wholly, reliably and purely "untainted" by rumors and innuendo as possibly being otherwise? Yes, it is one tough assignment but, we'll keep searching for Mr. Normal, Natural and Ordinary. He's GOT to turn up somehow, someway, someday. In surveying it all, it is almost as if good old Mother Nature implanted into each of we male humans say, a dual capacity for loving - dualisme l'amour -- as our dear French friends might say it? Nah! Not really. That couldn't be as it wouldn't be normal but, possibly natural tho IF inset truly, by our old Mother Nature. Best, it might be, to keep eyes-out-sharp for appertaining developments along that elusive and delightful, heterosexualite line of being.
During the 50's and 60's Two things all actors had - smoking and booze. Everyone smoked and booze was cheap and everybody had an open bar at their home and at the Hollywood parties - Booze was there by the cases for non-stop drinking. Late 60's - drugs were creeping onto the scene - then you had all 3 . All actors were under so much stress - booze was a way to unwind (everyday) and a bit of escape. So many actors aged prematurly due to their drinking and their populariety started falling FAST - booze weathered their once good looks.
