I love the way she makes car reviews, it's a unique tone, funny but with valuable information in the same time. And she always spot some details that we wouldn't even have noticed. A big fan from Belgium 😊👌
i watch a lot of youtube auto reviews and have never seen sarah before. what a refreshing, down to earth, commentary. think i'll subscribe just because!! (an owner of e320 + c300 + sl450 + porsche boxster)
Great review. I really think you captured its spirit. I own a 2018 and have nothing but good things to say about it. It has been perfectly reliable, excels at nothing but seems to be just a little above average at everything. It's a SUV that grows on you over time because it's so well engineered to be a balanced vehicle.
Your jokes and puns are fire! Love your sense of humor! I enjoy watching your content and hope you are doing well. Keep up the great work and am looking forward to your next video.
See my longer reply one level further in. This is a nonsensical comment, kim. I assume you've never owned or driven a Mercedes. Pretty much the best -- & best-built -- car in the world.
Tom Mandel I have to Agee Mercedes have made some really good quality cars over the years. Better then bmw and can’t even really compare to Ford because we know Mercedes is far better
@@b-gm236 Oh... you "know guys." You're probably the only one who does, right? Yet... I also "know guys." & they don't repeat nonsense like yours. But... what's the point of this dispute, really? When you take something apart on a Benz, you find that it was put together better, made better, than the last car you did the same on. But... let it go. I buy them used; they are a bargain precisely b/c people like you would "never buy one."
The rear seats kinda recline... they were likely already in the recliner position. If you fold the seat backs down you will find a secondary flip up latch that puts the seat back in a more upright position.
The feedback you feel from the touchpad are called Haptics. And it’s not expresso with an x, it’s espresso with an s. Otherwise, nice review (as always).
Burmester is a very high end audio brand - hand made in Germany...they make killer home audio in addition to auto, which includes Porsche and Bugatti! Unless you are an audiophile, the Burmester name means nothing...if you ARE an audiophile, having their system in your vehicle is a very big deal!
I'm fairly new to your chanel, but I like to watch it. I like your sense of humour. Just for interest sake, I am an Avionic in the South African Air Force. Thanks for keeping me entertained.
I love your content, and how you are yourself. Out of all the cars you’ve tested on RU-vid, what has been the hardest to give back? So far mine would be the Holden.
Refinement= a huge money pit. Don't be fooled, MBZ have been shit since the early 2000's. Stay far, far away from these nightmares. Gump is 1000X a better vehicle! My current fleet = 2 Toyotas(My latest purchase is a 2020 Army Green 4runner. Enjoyed you review!), and a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that I purchased new because it is so damn wonderfully simple, and I knew Jeep was going to change that. Anyhoo, modern Benz is garbage. They are living off of their old, well deserved reputation. Oh, I should probably mention that I have worked exclusivly on Mercedes-Benz for 20+ years🤣 Thanks Sarah! love the channel!
Sarah, not sure if you found it or not but since you were so impressed with the rear armrest, if you push in on the front edge of it... cup holders will pop out! We've owned a few MB's, but my favorite was our 2007 E550 4Matic with the Hyper-drive feature... (hypothetically, if you were to hit the gas pedal while doing 100+ mph to see if it had anything left, it WOULD still pin you back in the seat.... so I've heard... ;) )
FYI RU-vid is dropping the ball with notifications. I watched this video when it came out a few hours ago and just got the notification. For shame RU-vid
Mercedes and BMW are killing the headlight and taillight game. I hope you get more Merc’s for future videos I would like to hear your thoughts on the GTR!
I think it's funny that you pronounce aluminum like the English do... al-you-min-ium. Another terrific revue. Looking forward to your impressions of the Supra.
Another fine offering Sarah. I have never been in a Mercedes either. It is nice to have this to have an idea of what they are like. Considering the name they have for quality, I certainly hope they are refined. That is a pretty fair price also. Certainly not out of the reach of average folk. Job well done. The amg would be an interesting review as well. Here’s hoping that you can get one some day to review.
Great vid, Sarah. Mercedes does design some beautiful cars. It’s just too bad their build-quality has completely fallen off over the years. Everyone I know who owns a modern one claims they’re money pits.
They’ve always been money pits. The difference is that back in the 20th century, only wealthier people owned them, and they could easily afford the repairs. Today, middle class people can afford to buy a Merc, but then freak out that their maintenance is more expensive than a Toyota’s. They actually don’t break down much more than a Toyota. They’re just expensive to fix because they’re complex, innovative luxury cars.
Maybe you’re right, but you are quite literally the only person I’ve ever heard say Mercedes Benz is just as reliable as Toyota. I’ve never, not once, been warned to avoid Toyotas due to poor reliability.
I love the outfit, super cute summer look. The merc is out of my price range but it looks like a fun loaner or rental, don't think I'd want to live with it though.
Sarah, if you get the chance, test a turbo diesel Merc. I just sold my 2008 M320 CDI 4MATIC. About 210 horsepower but over 400 pound-feet of glorious torque! Turbo came in around 1,800 rpm and it ripped at that point (for a 4000 lb. car.). The 4MATIC on the ‘08 was full time AWD and part time 4WD. Locking front and rear diffs at the push of a button. Only problem is that big brake kit. You can put smaller wheels on in order to have better off road tires. Still, it’s a true beast. Got it used for less than 50% of original sticker price. So, try out a diesel if you can.
Awesome Sarah, welcome to Merc Club. I love em, always have done. One car to look at is the G-Wagon AMG, sweeeeeeeeet. Any hu, stay safe & healthy hugs 🤗 💋
What I didn’t like about the new Mercedes entry models is the fake exhaust outlets…!!! This is shame, by the way Sara you have a massive amount of beauty😍
Hi Sarah! You have at least one fan from PORTUGAL who watches your videos and reviews ☺ You might feel yet, that reviews is not your thing, but that's only because of your lack of experience in this matter. I noticed that you're a very practical person but, with time, you'll improve your skills to do better and greater reviews, and you'll realised that was one of the best things you decided to do 😀 I enjoy a lot to watch this review! Can't wait to see the next one 😉
For off road testing you should take a g300d or a unimog as you said dear Sarah!maybe this glc worth its price (and suits you nicely...) but only on paved roads!i can't wait to watch the amg version review!
Base models are always the best value. I am looking for a 996 right now. About half have a normal radio/cd player that sounds really good, and you can get modern adapters and whatnot to attach to your phone. Speakers sound great. The other half have the world's worst and outdated GPS, that was a $4500 option new. It actually hurts value, as the normal stereo looks nicer.
Aluminum in the US. They spell it differently in the UK--that's why they pronounce it as five syllables. Btw, we spell it the way the Sir Humphry Davy named it. He also discovered and named sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, barium, and boron.
Mercedes Benz in the 70s and 80s, the expense above the average vehicle was always in the engineering, not always appreciated until you got behind the wheel.
Mercedes CEO - I don't think our grill emblem is distinguishable enough. I feel it's missing... it's missing something. I can't quite put my finger on it, more chrome, more size, more gaudiness? You know... that more Mercedes. Which one of those factors do you all think we should improve on? Mercedes Designers - Yes!
Forester Gump's German cousin that grew up watching Arnold Schwarzenegger..😁.. alll you minnium aluminum..im so glad to have your humor in the trapped times... oh Haptics like iPhone.. I love my iPhone..
Leasing this vehicle with 0 down and 18k a year milage, it's going to run anywhere from $650 to $700 ( financing this vehicle will put you at over $1k a month if you decide to go on 3 years, by the time you finish paying off the vehicle in 3 years, it'll barely fetch you $15k, assuming you drove it at 12k a miles a year and took care of it. mercedes typically sees a loss of about 56% of it's total value in 3 years) depending on whether you pay have to negotiated price, and you have to pay tag fees, etc This vehicle is about 45k. I haven't seen a singler dealer actually have this listed as 45k. They always find a way to mark up the MSRP by 2-3k even on their base models. That's where you negotiate. But on a lease with zero down, 36 months, 18k allowance your paying for about 55% of the vehicles total price on a lease. This is true for about any lease really. This formula works and uniformly for most automobile manufacturers. These vehicles were designed, engineered, and manufactured with the notion that these are to be LEASED! and have built failures of certain parts. Mercedes of America relies heavily on Leasing their vehicles for 3 to 5 years. The percentage of leased vehicles is over 70% on a whole and they they get dumped in auctions for a fraction of the price and purchased by someone looking for that cheap luxury car, only to find out it was anything buy cheap. There's no denying what mercedes has to offer. They were and still are pioneers. From heads up display, to moving headlights, gps, nightvision, airbags, all the things we expect as standard of any vehicle was introduced to Mercedes vehicles DECADES AGO. They would not survive if they designed vehicles to last like they used to. They can build vehicles to last 30 to 40 years with very little issues. But it's not profitable and it doesn't keep the capitol coming in to fund for new technology. If your going to drop $700 on a lease you've got money to move up to a more powerful car and drop 200 more for it.
Yaaay, a multiched of 'Buttuns', love, love, love the way you say that, as you know. 'part from that, 'nother great car view vid, your car view videos are always fun alive. Thanks Sarah.. 'Buttuns!'
Great vid Sarah thanks for that. Your outfit is smoking hot and your review of this vehicle is good. I wish science Sarah would have told us how much that aluminum spyder under the hood at the front of the drives side would cost to replace. Plus always remember.......the best thing about longitudinal drive train mounting is that when the vehicle is towards the end of it's life cycle and you can buy one for 2500 it's easier to install a blown alcohol burning hemi engine and a lenco in it :-)
Actually, here in N. America we spell and pronounce it the way it was originally. It was later changed to the ium ending to match other elements like sodium, potassium, etc. So everyone's a winner!
Great review, I enjoyed your scale that seems like a 5 yr old came up with...haha is unique and spot on. Always enjoy your get down to it reviews and THANK YOU for understanding I can read a brochure. Looking forward to you getting back into the garage with your funny quirkiness and hands on stuff.
Really nice looking vehicle. "Al-oo-minium"? Veddy British, you're adorable. Really rich looking interior, Benz knows how to make a classy ride. A shame their dependability sucks these days. Flames out the exhaust! Sweet! I was feeling sad that there was no penguins then there he is, safely belted in the back! Thanks for another great review, Sarah. Stay safe.
For a moment there I thought you were gonna say one of your favorite cars was AMG CLK GTR which is my hands down undisputed altime favorite car!! It's on my bucket list even just to have my ass in the passenger seat once and would allow me to check that off the list just fine,.. but considering there's only a handful of them ever made and of that handfull most of them aren't even in the States that's gonna be a big ask...... If you have one of these cars and are local to the Southern California area just let it be known I might do some very inappropriate things to have some seat time in it to say the least!!!!! Great video Sarah like'n the white Jean's and blue top!!!! Watching your videos lately is like a tube of Pringles, once you pop you can't stop!!!🥔
AMG CLK GTR? Exquisite taste sir! I am only a few hours away from germany, but i doubt i will ever see one if i don't manage to visit the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart some time in the future when this is possible again. But we shouldn't stop hoping. I have by chance seen and heard the original Mille Miglia winning 722 SLR form 1955 and a W125 race car as a spectator of an oldtimer rallye as well as Stirling Moss and John Surtees driving there. Never would have imagined to get a chance for that either...
Hey Sarah, you probably know but all Mercedes and BMW are RWD if they are not AWD. AMG have nothing to do with regular Mercedes. They are pure performance beast. I guess you would love to give one the beans...
*( Unfortunately, all base/mid-range Mercedes and BMW(s), have a 80-100k miles expiration date. Then, the never ending closed loop Christmas tree dash galore unleashes. )*
For our European fans, could you show just a little text how much newton metre has the car? We don't know bald eagle per burger ( I mean pound feets). Other than that, Great review Sarah, keep it going! :D
Good review Sarah, bummer that it was only the rear wheel drive model that they loaned you. However, if you asked nicely, I bet that you could score a set of keys to an AMG version of one of their vehicles. Perhaps an AMG E63 wagon is in the cards....
one of the women I know the second hand car dealer sold her a ml55 amg. wow did that thing perform. woohoo! sadly the money pit soon opened up and so many things went wrong it was soon time for it to go.
