If Caitlin Clark was black, Jay Williams and all of these other "analysts" not wanting to call her great would absolutely tear you apart and call you a racist if you did not acknowledge her as the GOAT
I agree... and I don't want her to go to the WNBA... ever! I love watching her play, but I DO NOT watch the WNBA (under any circumstance), so her decision to go pro was a sad day for me. I wish her nothing but success and greatness. I just think she's gonna face a ton of hate in the WNBA, mainly because she's heterosexual, and if I recall Sue Bird (LGBTQ) is her mentor, so she'll be the first trying to push CC to crossover. CC is also white and getting a lot of prestige, praise, and publicity, so that's not gonna be accepted. I hope she has a solid support system (which I believe she does).
I can't believe she's actually going. She's walking into a buzzsaw. But she HAS to be aware of this, right? I just hope she doesn't sign some long-ass contract. So she can get out of there before it ruins her. @@stonecold7919
The WNBA loses money every year, there is no way they can pay anything near what Caitlin makes in college. Caitlin just plays her game. She's getting heat for being articulate, classy, straight white woman. She's a young woman who does it right. She'll graduate with a degree and a 3.7 GPA. In interviews she deflects praise to her teammates family, coaches. Signs autographs for the kids long as much as she can after a game. She is a great representative for her university and her state.
Catlin Clark ignore the haters for you are above them all and I am happy to see how awesome you play !! It is a honor to see a real basketball star go on to a basketball court and put out the very best hooping I have ever seen !!! Thanks for showing what dedication of the sport brings out the elite athlete !!!!
Rough look Steve but I respectfully disagree. Be a little more open minded, people hate her because of how good she is. Just like Brady. (Edit) Thank you Aaron for finally mentioning at the way end.
I'm not even going to bother watching the rest of this as I see where it's going. The hate for women in sports is more than a race thing. It's a sexist thing and guys like Steve and Aaron have absolutely contributed to the culture that thinks women shouldn't do anything but stay home and make babies.
Completely discredited his own argument by saying stuff like "The WNBA is just the woke olympics" and Dylan Mulveney nearly bankrupted anheuser busch 💀 like come on dude, not everything is some secret plot by the Woke Mob, or whatever.
Nothing to do with that. Did you see her run into the Ohio State fan, and flop? Then acted like she could barely walk. Meanwhile, the burger and beer, out of shape fan just bounced up. Then at the press conference, she said they tried to take her out. Fake drama queen. Check out the video.
@@kingtut859 yes she did, at the press conference. She said " they tried to take me out, but it didn't work". As if the "lady" tried to hurt her. That trained athlete flopped big time. Then went to the locker room supported by two people like she was dying.
@@Al-Rudigor Wow, way to lack contectual understanding. Clark takes hits too her face, her body, all the time, she was exhausted and is tired off feeliing targeted. - Way to prove her right with your piling on. . . Girls left you out of kiss tag at recess.
Steve again I completely love your take. Caitlin is a once in a generational talent . She is incredible to watch. Right now she is right up there with JJ McCarthy for people I could watch all day. I hate that she has to go through this. It's just crap. To me when I watch her I am watching history.
@@jrod9729So do all the players who rode the bench and never played a minute in the NCAA tournament. Anyone who considers championships as a measure of success is a pure loser.
Hey I’m not even an American nor white or black but I think she’s phenomenal. I think the hate comes because she’s white and partly because she’s straight.
First of all this whole cultural following you were talking about isn’t true with everyone, of course. My wife and I love MJ , watched every game. I was a Boston fan to begin with, never watched college. But when MJ arrived on the scene, Chicago fan all the way. Watched till he was done and we haven’t watched since. Never really watched golf till Tiger came on the scene. Not big on tennis myself, but my wife loved the William sisters. We had great men’s players here at Iowa. Players like Roy Marble, BJ Armstrong and basically the Murray family. C Vivian Stringer was our coach here for the women when we went to our first final four. It’s character in people we look for and follow, always has been. Pushing this your culture my culture garbage on every site you read is exhausting. I recognize greatness when I see it, I don’t care who they are. I’ve always been an Iowa fan, it’s different here. I believe Caitlin is a great player, maybe the best. But what makes me follow her is the same thing that makes me follow other great athletes, and that’s the character.
People should watch her interview where she talked about all that a year ago on Dan Patrick. She pretty much said NIL wouldn't factor into her decision, even though most of those deals go with her anyway as they're longer term. The short W season actually leaves her a lot more time than college has for some of the opportunities she'll have. With the first pick being Indy, the way her and Aliyah get along, it's proximity to Iowa, and oh yeah, Connor is there lol sure would be a lot of tempt besides fulfilling her childhood dream of playing in the W.
Steve and Aaron have actually overstated the pay in the WNBA. Player salaries in the WNBA are structured very similar to those of the NBA, but the revenue of the league is drastically different. The TEAM salary cap in the WNBA is $1.46 mil and a super max contract in the WNBA is $241K and the earliest I think you could make that is 5 years into your WNBA career. Like the NBA, rookie salaries are dictated by when you get picked. This year a top 4 draft pick will make $76k. There isn't a mechanism in place for the league to increase CC's salary despite the huge following she brings everywhere she goes. Financially, it makes no sense for Clark to go to the WNBA.
If I'm Caitlin I'm asking myself if I care. She needs to do what's in her best interest. She doesn't need the WNBA, the WNBA needs her. If Iowa pays me more than the Indiana Fever will then I'm picking Iowa, and anyone talking about my record's "legitimacy" can say it to my bank account.
I was with you until you started talking about woke politics and lesbian league. If she goes to the WNBA she will have the seats filled because she is a hero to little girls and their families. The year in Iowa this season does not predict how a fifth year for the most accomplished women’s basketball player ever will go.
"seats filled" at a WNBA game??? LMFAO. Yeah, sure. Delusional much? Sorry but one great player isn't going to suddenly transform that boring snooze fest of a sport into a must-see but keep dreaming. Would she be playing on every team? 🤡
WNBA players make most of their money from endorsements, like the NBA players did before the league started making big money in the 80’s. She will do fine in Indianapolis or wherever she lands.
I can't believe she's going to that league. It's like stepping off a cliff. Going from being at the top of the world, to the most hostile place you could go.
If you think that Caitlin Clark will avoid the WNBA because of politics, then you underestimate her parenting, her own morality, and America. She is a straight, Catholic girl who has courage and no fear. She will vote for Biden and do her thing in the WNBA.
She’ll carry most if not all endorsements into the WNBA. Also, I believe the league and the media has realised, watching her draw record crowds). They will lay out the red carpet for her because she has the game and off court demeanour to draw those record crowds in that league. Also, the WNBA is going to renegotiate its TV deal in 2025. If they can draw big crowds they’ll be able to negotiate from a position of strength. I would conjecture she’ll be the rookie of the year, MVP and all star in her first yea. A large part of this will be because of her game and partly with help from the league to get that big TV deal.
Winners always get hate. They're getting a lot of positive attention, and with that always come extra haters who just don't like seeing people excel. They feel the need to tear them down. Some right wing incel on Twitter today said she's actually male... Because that seems to be an obsession with the right lately is trans anything. So, any woman who's abnormally large, muscular or just athletic they get automatically labeled as a dude who transitioned instead of being given their props for all the hard work it took to become as good as they are. Have to admit, Steve, there's a lot of whackos on "your side" spewing some wild stuff.
I'm right wing Trump supporter. And find Caitlin Clark super fun to watch. How do you know it was a right winger that said that. She's straight and catholic, I think since she went to a catholic high school. Right wingers suport those type people.
@@davidclos6193 that's how the left always gets out in front of the narrative and will say anything to disparage their enemies. Also, when they are found out that they have promoted lies it doesn't matter because most people believe the first thing they hear, therefore the damage is done.
Funny all these leftwing nut jobs hat are in Steve's sports feeds now. They had no idea he had M Podcast but now they're like syphilis creeping into he comments.
Its called the Serena Williams effect, Female playing a game dominated by one race and you are not of that race and you are playing better than everyones all time heroes.
I personally would like her to go pro and change WBNA for the best. It's not about the money. She can make a difference for the future - and that is the way.
Clark is the best collegiate women's basketball player of all time not named Cheryl Miller. But it's still women's basketball!!! Even moreso...it's basketball!!! Nobody cares about basketball!!!
The chicken littles were cutting themselves when Purdue lost to aO$U. Then ... UConn gets rolled and Illinois chokes. The conventional wisdom that road games are dangerous still holds
@@Mirror_of_the_Soul00 no, it wouldn’t. The white media will not promote. Beautiful black women they’re naturally beautiful Caitlin Clark looks like Peyton Manning
Have you guys thought about making Bigger Ten its own channel? it’s a great pod, and it should have at least 50k subs by now. Maybe “Michigan” in the title is keeping some from subscribing. I found Bigger Ten as a Michigan fan and never miss a show. Thanks for all of the great work!
EXAMPLE. She talked shit to Indiana's head coach, while our coach was trying to have a conversation with a referee. After one of our players said something to a referee she yelled at our player to shut up. The refs do absolutely nothing. She should have had 20 technicals this year. She's an incredible player but she needs to learn some fucking respect
The Clark hate is pathetic. That being said I've thrown out a bit of my own hate because I know what's coming. She's going to pass pistol pete and ppl will make a big deal about it...... she's not and never will be a better player or even scorer than pete. Pete averaged nearly 45 ppg nd set his mark in only 3 years without a 3 point line and against men. The women's game is getting better but let's not act like the competition across the board is the same as its ever been on the men's side.
Pete was great. But he was the definition of ball hog with his dad as coach, shooting 38 times a game vs less than 20 for Clark. Almost twice as many shots per game than anyone else on the scoring list. Simply the volume of shots, and making 11 free throws per game. THAT is why he scored 44 a game and set the mark in just 3 years while only shooting 43%. Lost a ton of games taking 40 shots. But he was still a great player...amazing ball skills and gift for shooting. If you watch Iowa play... you can see that if they wanted Caitlin to average 38 shots a game, she could... and would likely average 45-50 just like any game where she has put up 30+ shots. This year...her 4 highest scoring games... she averaged 45 points on 30 shots and almost 8 assists. She could do that all the time. She has a dozen games scoring over 40 and never took more than 31 in any of them. The men's game is the men's game. Nobody is saying Clark is better than Pete...or Steph, etc... literally..... but maybe the best to ever do it, given the competition. I mean really... that should be obvious. But you gotta know... Pete didn't play against the best back in that day in the SEC... not like today.
Player? PP led losing teams in a segrated south. Great handle, none of the leadership and floor vision of Caitlyn Clark. He actually shot 40 a game, shooting his team out of games.
And yet, despite everyone knowing he was shooting that much his percentages were barely under Clark's. I hate when ppl bring up total shots without giving it context. You ever consider he took all the shots cuz the team sucked? If it was pete that sucked why was he a good pro too?
@@bwl57 Clark has a significant advantage in shooting percentage. Overall 48% vs 43%.. and that is with her crazy shot chart. Inside of 23' she's over 50%. PP rarely shot it from beyond 20-22'. He was a great player and could hit shots from all over... but his "game" was the midrange and in the lane. Like Jordan, he could torch you without the 3 point game.... mid range and at the rim especially. If he had 3 pt line... a lot of those 17-20 jumpers become 22-23' behind the line... and the shooting percentage probably drops a bit more, just like it does for everyone else. So that 43% is probably 40%. In his 68 point game... almost all his shots were either in the lane/layups... or 17' jumpers from the "perimeter"
Clark brings some of this on herself. I agree that she is a great player, but I could do without all the hand gestures and faces that she makes when she does something. Ans she was a bit of a crybaby when things didn't go her way against Indiana.
Yeah. She plays, delivers numbers and cries to the refs like Luka Doncic fr 😅 How dare she think it okay to show emotions in a basketball gamelike men right?! 🙄
this video perfectly encapsulates why everyone hates iowa fans lmaoooo literally 2 min in and i could guess the whole video would be “black people hate CC cause she is better than them and is white :(“ this type of content is a blemish on CC’s legacy if we are being so fr
This debate is SOOOOO STUPID. Ppl have their right to voice their opinion even if it’s different from yours. If he dont think Clark is the goat he has that right. Y’all are making it hard to like Clark now.
Uh, no one is claiming "rights" there Einstein, theyre pointing out biased, and/or racist, and/or stupid takes. See, that's what this is - a discussion. Sorry you're butthurt that someone disagrees with a stupid take that you might agree with.
WBB in my opinion is still too painful to watch for more than few minutes. The fact someone has broke a scoring record in WBB is about as interesting as hearing an ice fishing catch record was beat.
I used to say that until I watched Iowa and Caitlin Clark. The skill these girls possess is astounding. They shoot 3’s like they’re layups, Caitlin shoots them from just short of half court! Caitlin passes like a Harlem Globetrotter! They run their offense like machines. Iowa is worth watching!
Im glad you all are bringing this up because racism is real and it goes both ways from Sunday. Its absolutely gotten beyond ridiculous and for some reason its completely acceptable if the discrimination is being done toward Caucasians. Of course the racist will deny it.
Caitlin would put wnba on the map!! With the young talent coming up in womans b-ball, in a couple years fans and sponsors will love wnba, increasing the salaries for all wnba players!! As it is wnba will die a slow death and fade from memory!!
Lost to two ranked teams, and about to lose to OSU again. That's why. White skinned America loves a white girl playing in a B-ball sport that is dominated by black girls. Gamecocks, baby!!!!
Its just sad that WNBA is the "next level". That league is not welcoming to players like her. We all know that. I really don't wanna see Clark playing for college next season but im so excited to see her in Pros. So Europe maybe? WNBA is charity league anyway 🤷
Are you telling me she is another Megan rapinoe?? Man, I hope she has more wisdom to not run her mouth. If she does, guess what….she makes herself a target for whomever.
