The Chargers have the 2024 NFL Draft and the bulk of free agency behind them. They have added as many players as they have lost, and have overhauled most of the coaching staff along the way. While the two of us do predict the Chargers having a winning record, there are several reasons the Chargers may underperform altogether. We'll discuss several of those on today's show!

A sobering dose of reality is probably not a bad thing. But I will say one thing about the OL’s poor run blocking (all of them were subpar) - with Herb’s mashed finger, they had to go shotgun most the season. That takes away a good chunk of possible plays & adds to overall predictability. I also think Kellen Moore’s hands were tied more than folks know. With literally zero run blocking TEs on the roster, his bread & butter 12 personnel packages were rendered ineffective. Moreover, with no TE capable of holding a block for more than a half second, the C gaps were basically no go zones for the RBs. A low key signing like Will Dissly will help immensely in that area. Not to mention adding big Joe to that right side.

I don't know why we haven't even brought Simmons in to talk to him?? Gilmore also, even though he is on the wrong side of 30. He's still got gas in the tank.😊

im trying not to have very high expectations because i understand that this harbaugh era and rebuild will be a process and also we all know how high expectations end with this team, but my genuine expectation for this team is 9-10 wins and fringe playoff based on tiebreakers and how good the other wildcard teams are. I think herbo will have one of his best years of his career, and i think he still will have more room to grow. i also think the defense will be average at worst with this new scheme and hopefully getting the best out of out star players. and i think the obvious biggest hole on this team in the WR room is largely overstated. I expect a couple guys to reak out, whether it's JP, QJ, Ladd, Rice, Chark having another 1000 yard season, etc.

I'm somewhat optimistic about Kristian Fulton. He was a 5-star recruit to LSU. And then he's had injuries & performed below expectations since coming to the NFL via the Titans. The Ravens have always had good DBs, and part of me wonders if the Ravens-West will similarly elevate CB/DB play, and if so, Fulton is a prime candidate (with his athleticism & pedigree) to rise. Will he, or am I just a glass half full kinda guy?

I get the concern for DB/cb. We have 2 legit starters in Fulton and zont. how many teams have 2 legit starting probowl CBs. We have 3 -4 legit edge which can help with the CBs coverage

How about the D line. Not to mention Tuli, Colson and DJ. I know teams aren't going to put as many points. 10-7 11-6. Just from Staley to Harbaugh is an automatic 3 more wins. Lol

Even with Jim&Joel and Co, the draft success; there’s still holes that need addressing that haven’t, or will need to be before deadlines, to further cement some confidence.

If the team had kept Keenan Allen, they could have drafted Jackson Powers-Johnson in the second round to play Center. They would have been better off than having Bozeman.
