Beautiful message. I had a similar experience of leaving the faith after seeing so many hypocrisies in the church. It wasn’t until I realized that it’s all about Jesus that I was healed and saved. The church is comprised of people and all people sin and fall short. Thank you for using your voice for love.

Truly appreciate you Alan... I pastor a church in a tough, poor, violent (FBI's most violent town in PA) place and the church is growing, reaching people with the gospel and having an impact. Seeing a great actor whose career has likely just hit hyperdrive being so openly passionate about Jesus and His Word is such a wondrous thing. Seriously... thank you!

I haven't been to church since I was a child, they asked me to leave for asking too many questions. However I pray many times in a day and thank the Lord every night. God is in your heart, not a building, in my opinion ❤️

An appalling message on face book was asking to normalize pedophilia. My heart sank to my stomach. I never thought I would read or hear those words. I immediately asked my friends on Facebook to pray for God's intervention. To protect our children. To give parents the knowledge/wisdom they need to protect their children. It's a hurtful subject but it can't be swept under the rug. We are to be Bold and take the steps necessary to create change as per God's will. Thank you for sharing this message. I always respect how people feel about church. I regularly attend church every Sunday and Wednesday. I have had leaders in the churches I grew up in do some awful things. For me, I always understood that being human is to be flawed , not excusing what they did, but I serve God not them. So I take my family to church and instill the values you talked about from scripture and teach them that we focus on Jesus and not man.

Thank you for a great exploration of the church and its downfalls. I have much respect for you. This really speaks to me, as a person who is spiritual but no longer attends the institutionalized aspects of Christianity.

Pagans don't believe in other Gods, they believe in aspects of God that they define and understand, as do Christians. God meets us wherever we are and in whatever context we've been brought into the world, whether that is through the Buddha in the Tibetan steppes or through Jesus in an old church in Oklahoma. Thus there is no need for persecution; none of us know the whole shape of God. All that said, thank you Alan for this video and your many others. I am a Christian in that I choose to walk in the footsteps of Christ, even if I don't necessarily buy everything written in the bible, and I get a lot from the messages you share here.

Long story short… I discovered, after being a longtime active member of a Lutheran church, how “conservative” it is from what I believe. I firmly believe in following Jesus’ final commandment of loving one another as he loved us; that all should feel welcomed, no matter who they are, in church. So, as I search for a new church home, it is comforting to watch Instachurch. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I have struggled with organised religion for a long time but my belief and love of God has not waivered. Thank you for speaking so honestly and openly about your beliefs it is a great comfort to know I am not alone in mine.

So much truth here, and a reminder to communities of faith that are authentically trying to live the gospel (New Testament Churches) to speak up, and create places of belonging for truth-hungry believers.

Thank you for this video. You’ve vented my frustrations. I was raised in a Protestant denomination, so it’s easy to point fingers at Catholics and ignore the plank in our own eyes. While none of us are perfect or good, are we at least striving to be good and faithful servants?

Thank you for this perfect message, my walk with faith never had its place in the church, I was badly abused as a small child by men of the church , it kept me away my whole life but god made sure that very pain would lead me right back to him , praise Jesus, I have a very strong faith , relationship with Christ and walk with him, my eyes on the kingdom but church is still not a part of that walk.

Alan, do you attend church? I agree with everything you said but think it’s important to point out there are many wonderful churches in America, filled with sincere followers of Jesus Christ. Personally, I would like to see churches more active in helping with social problems rather than simply being a place to worship, but that’s another topic. Jesus had a problem with organized religion. False prophets are nothing new. Finding a church like the one you described in the middle of your message can be difficult, depending on where you live, but it is well worth the effort. You will be blessed.

There is a lot of good content here, Alan. I appreciate you being courageous not only to address a real problem in the church, but to lift up the name of Jesus. Have you by chance read John Dickson’s book, Bullies and Saints: An Honest Look at the Good and Evil of Christian History? Dickson, a Christian historian, does such a good job of highlighting when the church beautifully displayed the gospel, but he also doesn’t ignore when the church has had some serious blunders. I stopped going to church as a teen for some of these "traditions" or hypocrisies but mostly because I just didn't understand. Mr. Allen you explain things in a way that make sense to me. The doctrine of the Catholic Church and the teachings of Jesus Christ with all the Sacraments are still true. We were warned that the Church had let in the Devil in but Jesus said “And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” St Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭18‬ ‭DRC1752‬. We don’t leave the Church that Jesus Christ created because we have bad people in it. Just like we don’t leave our country because we have bad people running it. You stay and fight. This is why we are called the Church Militant. We pray for the Church, the Priest, the Bishops, and yes the Holy Father. Just like Jesus prayed for the people who killed HIM. Come back to the Church Alan and help us fight to bring it back to its original glory that Jesus Christ created!

I would completely agree with these feelings if I was purely going on feelings and not digging down past the main stream media reports (funding), rather than realising the root cause. At this current time, I completely agree with this church leader that an existential "external" force is guiding humanity down the path of war - that force has no nationality, race or religion. Finding the root cause of why these events are occuring, past the messages of the corporate main stream media, you'll find a plan for humanity. Something worth staying firm to.. sometimes it takes a combination of history in the other sides shoes before your own. There is a plan from God values held groups, unfortunately this opinion piece is well off target.

Even though I'm a devout Catholic, sometimes I have doubts on my religion, like if what they are actually teaching is the true Jesus or God, or if the Virgin Mary was actually a virgin when she was pregnant with Jesus, and the Black Mass and other sinister things that happen deep down in the Vatican, loved the message your giving, it's very beautiful at the same time very true.👏❤️

@instachurch be blessed by God, now, in deed I'm an excommunicated Roman Catholic and I didn't leave the church and in Germany it means I pay my church taxes too. • For me as person it's not a solution to leave the church. Yes, there is absolutely pure evil in the church and I understand the points why people leave the church with all this absolutely evil horror in it, but personal, for my own I can't, the sin and evil doings are not mine, and what they do, they do to Christ himself and Jesus is on this specific kind the church itself, so I can't leave him, even when I'm declared as excommunicated, I may be a declared evil, because I'm not married by church with my wife, but I can't leave because this Roman Catholic Church at least for the western hemisphere of Europe, is the direct original source that roots or comes directly from Jesus. • Now, I will give you another picture, there have been many Germans during WW II that immigrates from Germany and they identify themselfes allways as Germans even when Nazi-Germany identify them as ungerman, but these Germans who are stands for a human vision of Germany, keep this treasure and some of them later comes back and that was very important and helpful for after war Germany, that we could become who we are today so that we could identify the new rising evil directly in the middle between us and fight against it. • So, the RCC has some treasures that are in the middle between, and Pope Francis cleans the church, he sets the evil in upset, burning horror, all the hypocrites and false christians and rock throwers. • And Pope Francis brings back the light of Christs teachings and mercy. • The evil doers, the molesting priests and so on, I don't know if they go to hell, but they will really smell the fire of the purgatory and the crush of the mill stones around their necks.! • ...so I think, for me it's important, that I leave not. • And in the name of Jesus Christ I order the venom of the evil back to itself.

Great topic Alan! Powerful important problems that the global church is struggling to acknowledge and deal with when it comes to sexual abuse. A local church in my area for the 1st time i experienced watching unrepentant hypocrisy of pastors and some ministry leaders that their son sexual assulated my cousin and these are people we thought we could trust but that trust has been broken. Pryaing now for God to bring discipline to them and the hard love they need to be resigned from their positions and influence they have in their local church.

It must be difficult to be in between so many Saxon, Pagan and Christian commemorations and festivities and keep your ground and you beliefs.... without mixing things up.

Please, please bear with me. I see Fire! I love and appreciate you, not for your profession but for your unique existence and glory you always give to God. So, I have a challenge for you. You spoke of the reduction of millennial presence in church. The answer is ‘not’ the non-family based institutionalized church, but the answer is the Pursuit of Christ (Jer. 29:11-14/Matt. 7:7-26...yes, all of it) and relationships. If we get the intention of Passover was the end of the Old-Expiring relationship with God based on The Law, for and a New-Advanced relationship we should see as it was 40 days from Passover to Pentecost, for in both relationships there were passed on specific instructions from God. However, from 325AD to now many trusted scholars and theologians (not all but embarrassingly) have not “obeyed to the letter” the very simple 3-step instruction recorded in the biblical history of the beginning of the church in Acts. We should have 'never' reinterpreted intended recorded Instruction given by the authorized leaders of the New Way when they rebuked the misguided religious crowd in Acts 2:35-36 and the crowd asked in vs 37, a specific question (what are we supposed to do?) and Peters 3 things instruction through vs. 38 introductions to the ‘way of the spirit’ in the full vs 38-42 reply. Young and Old if they will respond to the clear instruction drop their pride and just do it may have the supernatural reality of connection with Jesus addressed. Then they will get the mystery of something Paul said he Thank God he did more than everyone in a very large church in Corinth. (1 Cor. 14:5,14-18). Don’t you think People are tired of being pressed into an old-wine-skinned-OT thinking way of doing ministry/church pervasive today, that should be upgraded to a New-Skinned Holy Ghost filled Way? Do we believe faithful followers are being empowered of the supernatural Gifts we need from God for today’s oppressive darkness found in both the church and the world today? Don’t we need Supernatural Love, Power, and a Word on Fire...don't we see any relevance of this hour in having Revelation 11:1-2 opened to all of us? Just Askin’
