For the healthy number of cynical skeptics scoffing at my remark in the video about starting a small clinical dose of TRT and thinking you “got me.” I booked the role of Reacher September 3rd, 2020 at 205lbs, began filming Reacher at 235lbs mid-April 29, 2021. We wrapped July 31, 2021. I took my first dose of testosterone (200ml cypionate) in October of 2021. I’ve never used TRT or anything else to enhance performance. I got where I needed to go without it. Keep hustling young minds. Nothing wrong with using modern medicine wisely if you’re not gaining an unfair advantage in competition. But you can do great things naturally if you work hard enough.
The last sentence of your statement is not true in that everyone can achieve ANYTHING close to 30lbs in eight months. Add to the fact that you are not a newbie and you are already in your late 30's. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, but you may be the genetic lottery winner with regards to gaining lean mass. I understand that you are encouraging people to work harder. But, please understand that for the hardcore gym goer or the clueless newbies, results like yours can be very discouraging because it seems like their hard work is not doing anything for them. It may lead them to stop training in the gym or even worse, to use unneeded PEDs.

@@BDOGPLAYSMC I agree with most of your points. I still work hard and try to be the best that I can be. But, I don’t think you got my point. I was able to push through and progress slowly because of other youtubers who are able to point out about the reality of human limits and training. It takes years for results to show for most. The truth is that Hollywood actors are contractually obligated NOT to divulge any illegal PED use. And exaggerations (amount of muscle gained and length of time acquiring it) are part of PR to promote their shows. I’m not saying this person is or is not doing it as I cannot be sure. The point is, in the fitness industry, the message of working hard enough is incomplete. It leads others astray. The correct message is if you work hard and consistently (forever, and not short term) you can be better that you were before.

Actors, competitors and others (see Cavill) have the time and money to achieve these goals in what we would consider an unrealistic amount of time. Also, it's in the best interest of film makers to pick those who "won the genetic lottery" since that's what brings people to watch their films; people with good acting chops and attractive features. It would only make sense that the same people are able to quickly put on muscle based on genetics as well.

I am 41. I am a disabled veteran. My right leg was amputated below the knee. The injury caused an infection that infected my whole body and caused me to have open heart surgery due to a leaky aortic valve. I was over 300 lbs, but I started watching what I eat and maintain a wait from 215 to 220. I have lots of loose skin all over my body. I find it hard to get good tips for people in my particular condition. I have followed your career since Smallville, love your work, and I hate that the CW, Aquaman, never came to fruition. Your work in Reacher is perfect. You are one of my favorite actors. Just now find out you're a Christian, confirm that even more now. God bless you, brother. I subscribed to your page. Hey brother, nice job pushing back on life. Sending good vibes your way. You might find fasting to be a powerful weapon in your fight. I struggled with my weight after gnarly injuries to my back and shoulder, but found that I could trim down about 2 lbs of fat for each 2 day, 3 night fast. You can go longer if you need to, and fasting will eat up that loose skin. I don't find fasting fun, but it is by far the easiest way I've found to manage weight. Give it a shot!
@upwardthought That is wonderful to hear! I have fasted for religious reasons and found it hard, but have been watching Dr Eric Berg about intermittent fasting. And that it will help flabby skin. Also, try castor oil. It's amazing.

I was looking for Reacher and found a brother following Christ, glad to see that man. I also struggle with pride and a certain sermon helped me to see a way out of that ego: to focus on God and what he has already done for us, that we are finally out of judgement from the world because we are already loved and valued by God himself without anything that we have to do. Was a huge Blue Mountain State fan back in the day when my lifestyle was so fitting to the show. Thad was by far my favorite character. And let me just say I was not expecting this type of witness/truth from “Thad” 😂 idk at what point in your life you got saved but hearing such boldness and truth from a Hollywood actor whom I am a fan of, gives me so much joy! Haven’t had a chance to watch Reacher yet but definitely on the list now!
Watched reacher and loved it. had to go back and rewatch blue mountain state out of respect for Thad. I forgot how good bms is and it really shows how good of an actor this man is.

Sayuri went home peacefully and as hard as it was and still is, my faith is strong and even in the darkest times I look to Him as best I can. So now I am searching for my purpose. @@jonthompson1068 unlikely. Looking at him 5-6 years ago, he was already way bigger than most will ever get naturally. So he obviously has great genetics for building muscle. And if someone like that takes low/ medium doses of testosterone, they look unbelievable. Look at Greg Doucette. In his 40s and on TRT. Looks better than most amature bodybuilder period. That's geneticly pleased for you right there.✌️
@@y4nnickschmitt Right, but it’s way easier to maintain than to build new. A 40 year old guy looking to be bigger than he ever has been probably is going to use more the test. Richtson is kinda in Greg’s boat, he was pretty huge (compared to joe average) in his 20s so now he can maintain with muscle memory and just a TRT dose. I’d guarantee someone like Kumail Nanjiani who packed on a ton of muscle for the first time in his life over 40 was on heckuva lot more than just a TRT dose.

I too am a follower of Christ, I've had a couple of deep existential crisis in my 38 years on this earth, but learning to look inwards and to focus on the bigger picture is so important. I wouldn't have ever considered myself to be deeply religious, but I'm drawn to teachings of Christ, they help give you comfort when times seem dark, and help to inspire the very best part of our nature to prevail. It can not be denied that there is something much greater than us, and this simply can not be ignored. Moved to tears. I am often struck how, in my daily reading of an ancient Text, I find so much that relates to my own existence. Right now, in Numbers, God accuses the rescued masses of grumbling against Him, despite all He has done. I found myself guilty of this. Also, I relate your 'ego body' testimony. I find myself doing less good because I'm becoming more of doormat, but I have to remember, this is NOT why He asks me to do it. Thank you for all you do, share and give! (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Ive been struggling since COVID, lost my home, a good career job because of people being greedy and not wanting to pay me for my work, living in a tent, barely keeping a car running, most days eating garbage just to get the calories I need, I stumbled upon your channel as well as been a fan of your acting, I keep a resistance training schedule even if I only have cinder blocks, even in the down pouring rain I keep my Push/Pull/Legs routine, but thankyou Alan for giving me a little hope that life may one day get better for my significant other and I and our three dogs, I need to get back into receiving the Word of God everyday again, I used to read everyday and I've let the stress and lack of things most take for granted keep me from doing so, letting the adversary win, Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart chooses his course but the Father determines his steps

I have seen you in Smallville, Titans, and soon Reacher. I am waiting for a few episodes to stack up to binge. You have said in the past that working out and being in shape is part of your lifestyle and that you have done it practically your whole life. You always have had an amazing physique and you definitely have the genetics. I do think it is possible to achieve a physique like yours naturally. I think a lot of people sell themselves short. Take a look at the silver era of bodybuilding. People can build phenomenal physiques without drugs if they put in the work and know what they are doing. I know you wanted to focus more on the spiritual aspects of your message, but it is also important to pay attention to the physical aspect of the conversation. People need modern heroes they can trust and people need to believe they can achieve anything in life without resorting to compromising themselves, physically, socially, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. Good video, love the work I have seen you in. Keep it up. Haters are going to hate, what is important is that you don't join that group.
There is always hope Brother. I have been at the bottom. When I was, I literally stood in my front yard alone and cried out to God . I don't know why this is happening! But I choose to follow you no matter what Lord. It took years and much suffering. But God gave me the strength to get through it. He is faithful and true to His word. We just have to walk in faith.
