I have added a new page to the Cruel Prince folder, a recipe for a Fae cocktail! drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vrItczwh5K5IbyKF3FqbqlBrxF7rcrbH?usp=sharing You can download it now along with the Prince Cardan playlist. You're welcome to share these but please tag me!
Refused to read this for so long because i thought id hate it... but finally gave in and bought the first book last week and I loved it!! It was so different than what i expected it was so good!
I loved this series so much it’s almost like taking drugs Lmao I keep looking for that same sensation on others books but I just can’t seem to find it???! Okay I know every book is different and all but everything is looking so pale to me in comparison to The Folk of Air series. If anyone has recs that can help me get over the absolute reading slump I’m in I’ll thank you forever :’)
I'd recommend From Blood and Ash! This is an adult series but it's very similar to the cruel prince in terms of angst and a balanced love/hate relationship
I really wished that there was more romance in the cruel prince because seriously as you said you never know where they stand. I was just reading and rereading moments between Jude and Cardan for a glimpse of affection. I just wanted to go inside Cardan's head and know what he is thinking. It was like drop of water in scorching heat; and I am sucker for romance it kept disappointing me that they are not showing enough. But it is worth reading.
Okay so here's a thing I was reading wicked king and man are you kidding me! Like waahoow! You still don't know where they stand but I mean omg the moments have increased by 100 times. Like not really but improvement is improvement and it is like amazing improvement. I am loving it. I just wished that the writing style was better. It's like love and romance is a complete different topic for Holly black. But still omg 💫❤️
I was 50% through the first book and suddenly all hell broke loose and it got so much darker literally betrayal left and right so many emotions holy shifkfhd !!!! I had to stop reading 80% into it and reevaluate my feelings for a bit
This is so random but I always thought that in the sceen where Jude and Tyrn got pushed in the water and Carden said that he would help them if Tyrn kissed him on the cheeks he imagined it being Jude and hating himself for is (he obv. Didnt ask jude because he knew she wouldnt kiss him)
It’s my favorite series about fae and definitely the best books on the fae. No other author has written about faeries so brilliantly. I loved it so much, the writing is beautiful.
Is it just me or did you have a hard time imagining? Like for example in my head I see madoc as how the fan art make him look but more Normal looking... I don’t have a hard time with Jude and cardan.. but with the characters with different skin color.. please tell me it’s just not me
I loved Cardan and Jude’s relationship. Anyone that says it’s toxic-BAH! They both have such a messed up upbringing that it entirely makes sense for them to be the way they are. By the time they’re truly together, they have both grown and healed a lot of their wounds and come to terms with ones that will never go away. Their relationship was also not the entire reason for their healing. They each grew in ways separately. It’s also great that they don’t come out absolutely perfect. They’re still working through issues.
This was absolutely one of the best reviews I’ve ever heard and seen. I’ve been been searching for a good review without spoilers on RU-vid for so long and found yours. Your background is so cool and aesthetic! Your dress, your make up and the crown made the video more interesting and for me pleasant to see. I also loved the many comprehensible statements about why this book is your favorite. You really got in to the details and that fascinated me. Thank you very much
The red wedding scene killed me!! This book is NOTHING like what I expected and I love it so much. It's so dark and so hardcore. Like Jude is not what I expected when I got I started the book and like you said, I like how Black pushes the protagonist to be badass and lowkey insane so to say. I usually don't like main characters but Jude pushes all the limit and I love it
I just picked up the series , I'm currently reading the wicked king . I really like it , I may not love it as much as the remnant chronicles .But this is a really a good read , I'm glad I did not listen to those bad reviews
I actually liked Cardan a lot less when he ripped that fae's wings off. That was unnecessary imo. The rest, even immoral, you can deduce from his background. Jude is my favourite character tbh. Reminds me of Adelina from Young Elites.
Finished the first two books in two days. I started reading the third book today. This series is really good. Jude is such a badass heroine. Her character attract me most in the series . She is a mare human but her mind and skill are beyond comparison..
I've loved Holly black since I was a teenager. I got into reading again recently and had NO idea she had a new series out and binged it in 2 days. Now I can find no other book to compete or that I can get into 🤧🤧😰
I read this series TWICE. It fucked me up. I will never enjoy other books the way I enjoy these three books. Holly Black is on another level, the characters, the plot, and as you said the unexpected way things unfold it's just art.
My YA book club just introduced me. I'm late to the party! It was so nice to hear others that love it too!! It's one of the first series for a long time that I just love
I found you from your blood and ash gush!! I love how you are so personable and it feels like I’m in a book club with you!! Going to give this another try now becuase of you (I tried once and didn’t get super into it for whatever reason) thanks for the recs! Your makeup looks great btw
This review perfectly describes how I feel about this series. I am only up to chapter thirteen in The Cruel Prince but I am so hooked I don't think I could ever let go. I agree with everything you have said and it really does baffle me at times when people think the first book is boring. How can something this delicious ever get bad reviews?? 😊
Is this 3 a series?one continuation of another? If its like, which one i should read first? Actually am not a book addict, but am totally interested hearing about this series!☺️💓Anyone please help me to know these🙂
yes this is one series and it's not connected to any other. The order is, The Cruel Prince, The Wicked King and Queen of Nothing, The King of Elfhame and there's also a short story called the Lost Sisters
I'm reading all the series again to celebrate the launch of the new book, and Im falling in love with all the characters again. I'm sad that I didn't know about the Readathon before ...
We still have one more live chat on this Saturday at 6pm GMT if you’re interested! If you join the private group chat linked in the description that’s where it’s happening!
@@thatfictionlife OMG thank u so much! But specifically the live chat is about the new one? I haven't read it yet cause I wanted to read all the series again before to refresh details about the story. I'm just done with the cruel prince, starting the wicked king today, is it OK?
@@thatfictionlife thank you so much, maybe I don't get to join the live chat but I can join the group, I'll definitely love to chat about the series... None of my friends have read them so I don't have anyone whom I can talk to.
This is something I've been thinking about for a bit but I would love it if Holly Black went and rewrote the series in Carden's POV so we know how he was feeling.
you already know how much I love this series, Olivia! I cannot wait to see what everyone else on the discord thinks!! also I'm in love with this makeup look!
Dude this video helped me so much as Google liked messed me up. I have the cruel prince, and am almost near the end so I wanted to get the other books, so I googled the series. Apparently it’s The Lost Sisters, then the Wicked King, The Queen of Nothing, and then the new book. So thank you for showing me that I can actually get all the books without feeling stupid. 😂
The right order is The Cruel Prince, The Lost Sisters, The Wicked King and The Queen Of Nothing, How The King Of Elfhame Learned To Hate Stories. The Lost Sisters and How The King Of Elfhame Learned To Hate Stories are just companion novellas but totally read them!
