The phone conversation at the end hit me like a ton of bricks. At first I was fooled into believing that there was some semblance of compassion, but the psychotic manipulation to steer a depressed suicidal man that jihad is the only way Allah will accept him if he does commit suicide. That is incomprehensibly revolting.

The title was changed It was originally like 'Why the FBI catfished a depressed pizza guy'

I'm so happy The Gravel Institute didn't shy away from the nuances of this case! A simple narrative that Khalil is just this completely innocent guy would leave room for an official narrative to defend the FBI with the incidental facts. This video just shows something we already know: security is not the priority of the FBI.

This is horrifying to see a troubled person preyed upon and then have various things threaded into their mind like it was some sick game. How do those people sleep at night after stinging someone like that? It's disgusting and I've no doubt that these catfishers wear this 'achievement' as some sort of badge. That phone call was pure manipulation with the 'faux care' swinging back and forth like a pendulum, as 2-3 more people potentially listened in and fed her pointers to steer the conversation to *EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANTED TO HEAR* to incriminate Khalil.

15mins in and I still don't know why this dude was honey-potted by the FBI. Seems like a young heartfelt guy, that just so happened too be on the internet to many hours each day. Don't care about your color or creed, watch yourselves out there.

If you exhibit certain behavior or patterns, criteria you can be targeted by law enforcement. Law enforcement will even push you to react in a way they assume you would. So that troll may be law enforcement testing you and your response/comment can be used against you. This is sad because these agents are lying and distorting their own perception of reality which will cause mental harm to themselves over time, and also cause possible mental harm to unsuspecting persons of interests. Everything you click on or are interested in can be insight into what your thinking at any moment. That state of mind can be exploited on many dimensions like law enforcement/retail/fears/anxiety/insecurity/neediness etc. Sad but the reality is this is powered by fear and protection and capitalism. Instead of helping people this country spends more money on clever entrapment and surveillance. Falling into a pattern can cost you more than you understand.

The part where he reunited with his family made me cry

This excellent video is painful to listen to. The subject comes across as thoughtful and well-grounded despite his experiences. Impressed that he (despite having every reason to) is not bitter and resentful. He is showing character which plenty of regular people never achieve. Now past this awful experience he looks like he will be a solid and compassionate person going forwards. Best of luck.

This is absolutely sickening, infuriating, and heartbreaking. I am so glad Khalil had the strength to get through this. For so many vulnerable and lonely people, this could be the thing that destroys them. Especially with the news reports and public defamation. Rather than connecting vulnerable and at-risk people to support networks and providing state-funded mental health support, governments spend millions a year to plant people into vulnerable communities and radicalize them in order to bust them. That says everything you need to know.

FBI does that when they get bored.

I really appreciate the story you shared, it goes to show you how far they will go to try to convict someone of a crime they haven't even done. They stole years from you then put you out like trash, unbelievable. I really hope you're getting professional treatment put a trauma you went through. After High School I learned never to trust anybody that I didn't grow up with or we're not Direct family.
