I get preferences ofc and that people may not like the game and that’s fine, but what’s weird to me is the people who say they “want something different” and something this objectively creative and revolutionary for fps genre comes out and they hate on it just bc it’s new. And they also say that the “games are the same” when it allows for so much creatively and variation between games, and they go back to playing cod or something that is LITERALLY exactly the same each game.
My theory is that fps has been very prevalent for very long so people have gotten used to their favorite category and can’t move out of their comfort zone, meanwhile me who didn’t play fps loved it instantly because i hadn’t gotten used to anything
@@cloudboy08I'm in the same boat as you. I tried most fps games, the one I spent the most time is was COD, a whole 10 hours, then uninstalled. Just wasn't fun for me. The Finals though... I got hooked the moment I started playing. I've roughly played 900 hours so far. I suck at the game, but can't get enough
this game is the definition of ahead of its time. i know this isn’t something to compare, but i heard someone say a while back that if COD advanced warfare came out TODAY (preferably not with the cod title lmao) it would not get nearly as much hate, and would probably be a crazy good title
One of the great things about this game is that it uses familiar weapons like the AK, Lewis gun, MP-5 etc but puts them in an arena shooter type environment that you can rip apart. Makes it understandable what the weapons do and how they're used, but pairs them with movement tech and gadgets that don't match up realism wise. Such a cool concept.
Dude, the finals are so fun but like right now more people are talking about negatively for some reason finally, someone who actually understands that the finals is fun and it does not need that much updates

The reason this game doesn’t blow up is because of its nature. It’s completely disappointing to play solo, there are a lot of quitters and matchmaking is terrible. I love this game, I hope developers can make this game better and the gaming community will give this game a chance.
If they invest into esports, then they will most definitely be able to keep up their playerbase for a longer amount of time. Overwatch did this for example in their early year. This studio is a lot smaller though so it might not work out as well.
I don't know why but I really enjoy playing cashout with Randoms. yes it's frustrating when you get bad mates but otherwise it's really fun. they should definitely add the option to rematch with the same mates after the game is over. Just like in warzone
My take: Embark has over-listened to the hyper-casual community for 3 patches now, and the player count still isn't rising, which tells me that pandering to them every patch hasn't been working. Instead of the community banding together to figure out why people quit the game, they make videos or Reddit posts like this explaining why you should totally play The Finals, but don't realize they've trapped themselves in an infinte loop of confirmation bias. They only care about getting new players in, but once those new players leave, they forget about them not understanding that, that new player has to actually stay if the player count is meant to go up. The fact of the matter is: The Finals presents itself as a competitive FPS, but on the inside is actually just a super casual game, with competitive mechanics that aren't being utilized.
Yeah, i think that the game was better (and more fun) in terms of balance in OB. Right now everything feels dull because it was nerfed to the ground. People were whining about getting killed and "were leaving" so they nerfed all the stuff and well guess what happens to competitive guys who were mastering 1 gun for 150+ hours only for it to be nerfed - they don't want to play too. At the end of it all we get casuals who leave eventually because they are still getting their ass kicked (and the lack of well thought out free progression doesn't help) AND semi-competitive players who leave because their main got nerfed + the game is always changing. Man they even nerfed losing in a game - now if u get wiped you only lose 10% of the money and not 30. The defender-bonus cash is mind-blowing for me as well - before it was always all or nothing, you had to get that cashout or you lose and everybody on the map knew that. Now you can just shove it in, wipe a couple of times and call it a day - you still got the money.
The finals is Dope, I'm glad I kept an eye on it, played the BETA and then started playing soon as it dropped. I use to be a hardcore COD player and I have way more fun in the finals than COD. Modern COD just feels off to me and not fun anymore. When I say I was hardcore, I'm talking top 10,000 in the world on console. Then I took a break from gaming and came back in 2022 like wth happened to COD. I enjoy PUBG, The Finals, not too sure about Xdefiant yet.
I don't care for the rank stuff just seems a waste of time. Yet I do like the game and it's fun most of the time. The events are always interesting mainly holidays. I feel it's going to stay around for 2 decades 4 tops
