I actually think AVGN on G4 could have worked. There probably would be some censorship but wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for me since parts with less swearing would likely be uncensored like they had with Scott the Woz. Later releases of AVGN episodes do remove a lot of copyrighted content already. The only problem is that most episodes are not TV length, so they have to edit stuff out and shove shorter episodes together like Scott had to.
AVGN would probably have to be rated TV-MA and aired after 11 PM, unlike Scott the Woz which was TV-14. Similarly to Scott the Woz, the episodes are in random length, so they would have to combine/edit episodes into one-hour compilations.
If Frosk hadn't opened that mouth of doom, maybe G4 could have lasted a little longer and maybe figure out how to adapt to the new age. And get rid of Adam Sessler because frankly, I always founded him insufferable even before the revival took place. I actually first heard of G4 through a commentary channel Shadsilver and it was on their reviews of the Sonic games released during the original channel's run. Found him very smarmy, smuggy and smeggy to stomach like most "game journalists" that think they're better than you.
Comcast Spectator originally bought the rights to the G4 brand for 6 years (which should've lasted until 2027), but sadly it shut down long before then
great video but i do have to say you should change the intro song to something else since this channel (at least to me) has a pretty laidback vibe to it so music from adult swims bumpers circa 2003 - 2008 would fit well
Basically the orginal G4 was basically full of COPS and no other shows that are topic with games. But 3 years ago G4 was revived but didnt last a single year. I also saw it on pluto TV in 2021 but when i go back to my fav free steaming service. Guess what? It dissapeared from the ashes. I wish G4 Lasted More than a year.
G4 is the first channel I recall that backpedaled its main demographic, trying to be more mainstream. Went from having gaming-related shows, tech shows, anime, and Code Monkeys. Then most of G4 programming ended up being Cops and Lost reruns.
What If G4TV Aired Amazing Digital Circus & Angry Grandpa Show I Know They Played RU-vid Streams On G4TV But Amazing Digital Circus Come On Bro Gooseworx Only Produced 1 Episode At A Time In 2023 & 2024 And Angry Grandpa Show Might Overair On G4TV If The Viewers Watched It Enough
Watching the original G4 was great back in the days where not everyone had high speed internet access. It was amazing to be able to watch live E3 coverage on TV. By the end of the original channel as well as by the time the revival happened so much had changed regarding both television and the internet. It's time had just simply passed.
First off nice new intro btw! Also I remember when G4 used to air Happy Tree Friends. Also it's sad how G4 just didn't last long with their second launch.
god i miss G4 so much, i remember watching this channel with my dad in the late 2000s early 2010s and it. along with me growing up playing on the GameCube. PS2 (which i still have with me to this day) and the Nintendo 64 is what made me into the gamer i am now. hell i used to read GameInformer and that's been discontinued too now but yeah. if anything ever happens to Cereal Milk VHS (RU-vid's onto him now and copyright striking his channel) i might tune into 4G TV if i ever make a twitch channel

The G4 revival doomed itself by going super political. The original G4 was apolitical and didn't take itself seriously outside of a few Adam Sessler comments here and there. G4 was packed with edgy sex and racial jokes. Things Adam Sessler would advocate you to be assaulted in public for on Twitter. I argue Adam Sessler helped doom the original G4 channel later on. Near the end of the channel life, the network got political to the point that Adam Sessler called the black hawk down movie a racist zombie during the X-play review of Resident Evil 5. Because a movie set in Somalia has a lot of black people. Mind you, this was all before the 2016 elections.
I Blame Spike TV Don't Know Why But By the mid 2000's G4 was trying to be Spike TV lite only G4 had X-Play, Attack Of The Show, and Code Monkeys while Spike TV had TNA Impact, UFC, Pros Vs Joes and Afro Samurai well TBH Bellator and TNA gave Spike an edge In my opinion
felt like G4 was trying to go the adultswim route when they shifted from games to whatever the man show was but didnt exactly understand why adultswim was so successful in this market. its not because adultswim has adult shows but because it has QUALITY adult shows. G4 just said " we need more d**k and fart jokes¨
I bet that Kitboga show would’ve been entertaining as hell. Moral of the story (or at least one of them), don’t bring politics into gaming. It’s been done before, and it only leads to major catastrophe.
Technically there was a short-lived block at night shown on Disney XD that tried to merge reminiscence of g4 with popular lets play RU-vidrs to cater to a general audience crowd. D|XP. Which I imagine is gonna be another video for another time.
@@annamorearchives well given it only ran July 15th, 2017, and ended November 2017. and only very few people remember it. its very short lived compared to 2021-2022 g4 and that is not saying much about both. i think the only g4 about it was The Attack show.
