Student pilot. Just ordered the killing zone - will keep the valuable lessons I learn each time fly alive. Thank you for a great video.

Nice! Hopefully knowledge of how people die in aviation will help prevent more of it happening.

Well done. If someone is watching in prep for their checkride, be sure to read the ACS. Recovery from both stalls needs to be at Vy or Vx not an arbitrary climb

You are correct however please remember that this is NOT flight instruction. This is me sharing my experience.

Great video as usual. You make those steep turns look easy. I sure hope I got that maneuver down by Thursday. Although I think weather is going to mess up my check ride. Top on my list after the certificate is coming down your way.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. That makes a great review for my upcoming PPL check ride. Also, I think that's a great idea to practice the PPL maneuvers every 3 months.

Thanks! Highly recommend reading "The Killing Zone" after you finish your checkride. If for no other reason than to know what kinds of things have really gotten other pilots into trouble. Good luck on your checkride!

I like the idea so practice the maneuvers every three months to help with proficiency. I will add that to my flying schedule once I get my private pilot. Right now I am learning them.

Soft field takeoff wasn't bad, the planes going to wallow after all, you forced it into the air! Doesn't have to be pretty, just safe!
@1dullgeek
@1dullgeek Год назад
Agree. It may be safe, but I still can't count it as "good" if it isn't also pretty.
@kimberlywentworth9160
@kimberlywentworth9160 Год назад
On the short field take-off, I thought you need to stay in ground effect until you get an increasing airspeed of of a least 65 and increasing.
@kimberlywentworth9160
@kimberlywentworth9160 Год назад
I have that backwards with the short field. It should be the soft field.

Nice to see your annual is done! Are you not planning to practice s-turns, turns around a point, emergency descents…?
@1dullgeek

Yes. But those are very difficult to capture on film without an external camera. I've tried before and it just looks like me flying.

Thanks! My airplane's annual and the current persistent afternoon thunderstorms have put a real damper on instrument training. I've only had one lesson in the last 2 months. I've currently got a bunch scheduled through the end of September so hopefully I'll be able to get back to it soon.
