BTW Martin, I watch a lot of aviation you tube channels, and have to say, your editing and multi view shot selection is the best, always selecting what the viewer is most interested in seeing, just at the right moment!
Another great video Martin. I would highly recommend a Sportys air scoop that easily flips out the A36 pilot window. You would not believe the air flow created.
Nice to be noticed on social media like that. I just purchased a plan myself, a Beechcraft Sierra, still have to go get it but I am so ready for weekend trips all over the place in it!
@@martinpauly I fly our clubs Cessna 172 out of KDXE, located between St. Louis and Memphis and a short hop to the Mississippi River. Our fuel prices are good. If you are ever coming this way, the rib dinner will be on me.
The AAL pilot must fly GA on the side...he knows what it's like. Also, AA pilots get paid by the hours spent off the gate, not by the flight... no hurry for them! :)
That was awesome of the american crew to let you guys get up there,I was getting upset for you lol, reminds me of Nikos video, where they thought he had something wrong with his plane
The American pilot was profoundly nice. Probably flys a Bonanza too. The worse time I had for departure was at Airventure 2019 when I got routed from the North 40 the long way to 36. Took total of 1 hour to get airborne
Right - AirVenture is a different animal, as is Sun 'n Fun. I like to carefully pick times for arrival and departure at these busy events so as to avoid the biggest rush. - Martin
Boy Martin you could have used that a/c rig u made the other day on this flight ...anyway im happy to let you know I did purchase my first plane last month and Im currently training in Lancaster Pa ...Thanks for all your advice and help in your videos Martin!!! Hope to meet you at an upcoming (hopefully) fly in!!
@@martinpauly Hey Martin==Im starting with a Bristell lite sport/w dual Garmin panels and a G5 back up...fully loaded up--now I have to figure out how to get some cool air into the Cockpit for next summer..Lol!!
Captain Martin as usual professional job great video thank you for sharing always wishing you a safe flights and big thanks Big thanks for The American 2049 Captain from overseas this is the way how professional do.
Sasly in youtube one can only “like” and not “ love” videos. My 2 hobbies are marathon running and flying, both have many similarities including ( vast majority...not everyone...but still..) humility, friendship, camaraderie, generosity, loving the journey more than the destination....many other aspects including the awesome people you meet along the way. Just awesome to see what many of us have experienced along the way, Bravo AA, fuel ‘aint cheap but what we saw on display was priceless. Gotta Ask....if rotation oil temp was. 182.....what was TOC......assume you leaned and did a 120KT+ climb! Great video, as always.
Thanks, Andy. Regarding oil temperature: it actually cools down once flying after a long ground run on a hot day. Without air flow, things get really hot. - Martin
thanks Martin for this beautiful video. I believe that there is an after market certified air conditioner and heater system that you can install. anyway here in Ontario it is getting really cold. Have a great one and talk to you soon,
Yes, an aftermarket air conditioner exists for the Bonanza. It costs north of $30,000. That is absolutely insane. I can buy an automotive air conditioner for that money, along with a decent car! - Martin
There were several airliners waiting on the other side of the runway, Brian, so I don't believe the Tower controller was favoring them over thug aircraft. It was just a busy afternoon. - Martin
Found your channel yesterday and already hooked. I'm always stunned what kind of traffic you have in the US on uncontrolled airports. Is that a passenger jet holding short of the runway at around 23:31? The largest I have seen on "uncontrolled" airports here in Germany are business jets of local enterprises.
Herzlich willkommen, Ralf! Those jets at Statesville could belong to a regional airline, and those do operate routinely out of uncontrolled airports here in the US, without any trouble. However, this particular one you saw in the video belongs to a company which provides VIP transportation for car racing teams. Beste Grüsse aus Iowa! - Martin
@@martinpauly I believe he's referring to Greg from Premier 1 Driver and a video he posted where he called clear at a nontowered field before crossing the bars. Relevant video of P1D talking about it (while understandably angry): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lPiO-K5SQ8M.html
Recently discovered your channel, and am enjoying it. I’m working on getting back into flying (in an RV7), and it’s super helpful to look over your shoulder. Curious; what headset is that you’re using?
The Air Traffic Controller should have staggered the departures with aircrafts on both sides of the runway. I’m not sure if the airlines have the right away over GA, if so that’s not a fair rule.

Martin, I was watching your T/O from CLT and I noticed your AMP meter showing a negative discharge at 2500 RPM. Is this normal? Great videos I think I have watched them all.
That was so great of American Airlines crew. I hope they didn't get into any trouble from their airline for delaying departure and costing their airline time and money. The radio chatter when you were on base, waiting to make your final call, got me really annoyed. So unprofessional hogging the frequency for a lengthy chat, especially with so much traffic in the area.
I wasn't going to point this out in the video, but yes, two people hogging the CTAF like these guys did can make it very difficult to get a call in at the appropriate time. And given how busy the airport was when I got there, a voice was screaming in my head, using words not suitable for a family-friendly channel. 😁 - Martin
@@martinpauly I know from experience at my uncontrolled airport, how hard it can be when there's a lot of traffic in the circuit. I've even extended a leg on occasions because I couldn't get an important call in. If they want to chat, they should go to 123.45
You are correct, Robert. I just held where the Cirrus had held before me, when really both of us should have waited at the runway hold short line instead. Good observation. - Martin
This plane could be doing everything 10 kts faster per power settings at cruise and full power with a TruAtlantic nose bowl. Then it won’t be like everyone’s else’s plain Jane 550 upgrade.
@@martinpauly im planning to take a discovery flight soon and if that works out well and after getting medical, doing an online ground school and next year, flight lessons. I liked your headset because I'm wear hats and that looks like one that would be more comfortable. I'm assuming ANC. Thank you for responding and, Happy Flying!
