Can change the tail switch to alternative settings to turbo on the half press and stobe on full press for more defense application. Just press the tail switch to the full press, while holding down press the side switch. Will change to the mode described above. Do the same same sequence again to change back to the medium and turbo tail switch setting.
I've used Thrunite, Maglite, FourSevens, and Fenix, and all of them have either broken down, started flickering, or became inefficient for work. My Olight S2R Baton II is hands-down the best light I've ever used. Been using it for about 2 years now, and it's still great. Amazing battery life (I actually only need to charge it once every few weeks, sometimes a month), and the magnetic charging is so easy compared to taking apart the case and swapping out a battery like other brands. I've also used it to stick the light onto metal surfaces. And it comes with a two-way clip, which is super handy. Great light
@@Frindleeguy I actually like Fenix. It was a sarcastic comment lol. I trust Fenix far more than Olight. I haven't had a reliable Olight to this day and neither have my coworkers
Thank you I've been watching you and I'm learning so much I am 68 years old I'm not on any medication but I don't know what to pack for my age I'm still in good health I work full time so I'd like you to do something for older people
Warrior mini 2 has been my edc for about 2 years now and it's served me well. I've used it with my 9mm in a tactical situation and camp use while backpacking.
My first Olight is a s1r baton 2. It has been dropped, ran through the washing machine numerous times and survived being in a fire for about 10 minutes. Its still my edc. I now have over a dozen other Olights.
Mine just arrived yesterday and it is great. I was carrying the original warrior mini for the last few months and its been great for me. The warrior mini 2 will be my EDC.
Nice comment about liking a wider beam, I agree, if you're not a ninja or on a search and rescue mission (😁) you're fixing a flat, fiddling under the hood, checking the breakers when the power goes out etc.... I think my number one use is shining angled down in front of me about 15 to 20 feet ahead so I can see to walk or ride a bike. Nice that your video shows you can move the lanyard ring around on the rear so it doesn't line up with the pocket/cap clip. You didn't mention that it won't take a standard 18650 battery. Have you tried stuffing it on the bill of a ball cap, simulating short term emergency use?
Warrior mini 2 , bought 2 + 1 ti,asked for full bezel (with alot of other people)makes alot of difference in protecting the light . Love the proximity sensor and I could go on ,great presentation
I keep looking at Olight. But keep going back to Stream Light. My Protac 2L-X (500 Lumens) and Protac 5L-X (3,500 lumens). Ones a day to day edc. The other is a full sized security guard flash light. 3 settings. High, Strobe, Low. I dont like 3 second Turbo or 10 lumen settings with 5 settings total. Too much.
It even fits nicely in the hand side ways to use it as a kind of knuckle duster / fist reinforcement in the hand in a self defence scenario, as opposed to a strike weapon as you’ve demonstrated
The clip on mine snapped off the first time I tried to remove it, very poor, never had this happen on any torch I've ever had no matter how many times the clip was removed.
I just bought this light based on the torture testing. Luckily it was on sale. I ordered the tan version so I can see it in my bag a bit better. I liked how both buttons can turn the light on. I also saw the Warrior 3. I will be buying this next time it’s on sale.
Great review, the new mini 2 is amazing! I bought 2 --- may buy a few more when they come out with more colors--- the company is fantastic! Keep up the great reviews!
Beating the black one up on both warriors I see you decided to use the desert tan. Good choice lol. I do like olight for EDC flashlights and even an occasional weapon light. I have one or 2 for a wml several for edc type and get home bag
1/6 more lumens should not be noticeable. I think it looks brighter because the beam is narrower. I've given up on Olight after both my S2As had problems with the electronic side switch.
Same here mate. 3 olights and they worked fine. Problems arose when I dropped 2 into water during testing and turns put one was missing the oring for the front option and the other just wasnt sealed at all for some reason. Plus there tint is garbage. 60cri on some :(
Fun fact if you have the pocket clip in the factory position then the silicone covers from the warrior mini will fit the wm2. Also its highly recommended to carry a pocket light along with your weapon with mounted light.
I have the original warrior mini and the second version..... the original one is best. One thing , it sticks sideways on anything while the 2nd version will not, because the 2nd one is top heavy and just falls down. It’s still AWESOME but the original one is better plus smaller. Best lights I have ever had!! As a HVAC tech lights never lasted me long til now
LOL, every test I see where someone runs over a light with a side switch, it gets turned off....and The only people who say that Olight is Not durable are Haters.....You have to pick on the Big dog... Great light I have a Mini 2, and the new Warrior 3....Great lights, and nice review.....Thanks
This is a great improvement to the original WM and would make a great EDC. That said, my most EDC's Olight is the i1R2 EOS. Having the light on my keychain makes it super convenient and always in my pocket!
I've become a big fan of Olight, I own several different models including the blinding Marauder but the Warrior Mini has become my favorite due to it's versatility for EDC.
Well, I used to be a Nitecore guy but this year I started to change to Olight. Now I have the Arkfeld and the Warrior mini 2 and 3. Next one is going to be the Arkflex.
They literally had to pull the warrior mini originally because the lens would melt and start to smoke when it came on in pocket. I had one and it happened to me right before the Amazon return cutoff. I was lucky.
Great Review. WM2 is great. Probably my favorite non-deep pocket light. However, they need to release a version with warmer color temp (maybe 5000-5700k) and higher CRI. I will be swapping mine from the SST-40 6500k to an SST-40 in 5000k or possibly my new SFT-40 in 5700k. I think the SFT-40 will be ideal. The mix of throw and spill on the stock light is great and the combo side button and tactical switch are the best features IMO.
You just desolder the emitter and replace it? Not something I had really looked into before. Some of them have the electronics and stuff in the head all glued in place or not tooled so very difficult to remove without damage
There’s something I don’t think you cover in the video. I was watching this and I was wishing there was a way to use the strobe with the tail switch as in my case I would want to hold the flashlight up in a tactical position and use the strobe to blind an attacker. There IS a way. There are two configurations for the tail switch. In the second configuration if you half press the tail switch it does the Turbo but if you hard press the tail switch it does the strobe. Not sure if that is a new feature that they added or not but it makes this the perfect tactical/EDC light IMO.
I’m new to these fancy flashlights. What I’ve learned so far is that there are a lot of people that take these things far to seriously. Come on people - they’re flashlights - no reason to go on tirades about them in comment sections. I see the same commenters bombarding reviewers with hate and vitriol every time they find a review that shines a positive light on a product that they dislike. Life is too short to spend your time angry at the way the world is...try to enjoy the good things, and stop screaming about the things you cannot change. You’ll feel better.
Well said. I'm all for nerding out on ones hobby of choice, but getting so precious about a thing that you are put into a rage by a differing opinion is not mentally healthy. Although, of course the thing is arbitrary, it's the differing opinion which then becomes an "attack on your ego" that's the issue.
Used to carry an s10R - cool little flashlight, but the lack of a tail button always annoyed me. Just picked up the warrior mini 2, and i'm giddy - has everything I need.
Liking mine as well. Just wish it had a bezel like the m2r/warrior 3. And if I’m wishing, bump up the lumens just a tad more. Not necessary. I just like more. Of anything. Haha.
I have the original Warrior Mini. I switched my pocket clip on the original WM about a week after I received the recall message from Olight as the WM had come on a couple of times in my pocket. By simply forcing the pocket clip onto the textured body of the light, just below the smooth tail switch end portion, you effectively get the WM2 fix for the WM. The clip has stayed put for months of EDC use and works fine. It never comes on in my pocket now that the tail switch is pointed up. That is really all Olight had to do to fix this issue with the WM (no need for the ridiculous silicon tail switch covers). The new sensor in the WM2 is overkill and the now the WM2 is really too big for easy EDC. I know because I ordered the WM2 thinking it would be nice to have the clip in a "made for use/recessed area" of the light tube, but the additional length has me back to carrying my original Warrior Mini. 1500 lumens vs. 1750...meh, who cares.
One thing about quality is that anything that is sold and is not individually hand-made by someone that checks every detail of the product(that just jumps the price crazy) will always have a "Bad Batch" which does not mean that the product sucks you were just not lucky. That's why a custom piece is normally more expensive than a machine-made piece.
Well, Olight and durability… you tested it, no doubt about that. I dropped mine two times and the second one it died completely. Battery was ok, but the light was toast, had to send it in. After a few weeks my Light came back. Apparently they changed some electronics or so, I don‘t know exactly, since there was no further information, just the flashlight in the mail, kind of working again. A bit weird if you ask me, but nevermind… it works again… 😌 Cheers!
I dont understand the olight hate, all of the ones I have purchased for either me or as a gift for others are still working just fine after alot of abuse. The only one I had to break I ran over with a lawn mower 😂
I'm wondering about Olights quality lately. Me and my pal both have a Warrior Mini 2 and both have a Freyr. Both our Warriors and Freyrs have a different beam colour and intensity -and yes we made sure they were fully charged before comparing. I'm giving Thrunite a try
OLIGHT! PLEASE FIND A WAY TO ELIMINATE, METAL SHAVINGS. FROM GETTING INSIDE THE TAILSWITCH! CAUSING IT TO SHORT AND FORCE THE LIGHT ON IN YOUR POCKET! It's a super pain in the ass to dig them out too! Maybe make a silicone cap that goes over it. The magnets not really strong enough to use to hold the light, at least not horizontal. But anyone who works in a factory, probably deals with this same problem... Ijs
This video caused me sign up an account with olight that mini warrior 2 is awesome 👍 I was in a walmart once when the lights went out and this walmart didn't have a generator and not knowing what was going on I used a flashlight and vacated
I would love olight if they upgrade their emitter to high CRI, neutral white. I still hate ugly green tint, although their light have well built and a great UI
Too many presses to get from A>D. A really good flashlight is made in the USA and has very few if any programs. KISS because people are always in a hurry.
