Why The Panama Canal is Failing
Panama handles roughly 5% of the global sea trade and 40% of the US trade, carrying around 270 billion dollars worth of cargo that flows through the Atlantic-Pacific annually. The drop in water levels allows only 24 ships to pass per day as opposed to 40 ships on a regular day. This has resulted in delayed shipments, more fuel usage, and GDP losses to the trading nations.
The Panama Canal is a 100-year engineering feat that connects two huge oceans; the Atlantic and the Pacific. As its name indicates, this canal is located in Panama- a tiny country that joins Northern and Southern America.

This happens every N years when there isn't enough rain. It's not new, it's been happening since at least the last 60 years. It won't affect things much and the rains will return to normal.

Population of Panama is only 4.4 million. Half these people could move to Miami and that would reduce the need for potable water. And those farmers displaced by flooding the reservoir could be moved to Texas or NYC. Problem solved!

Or make Huge container shifting Mechanical cargo conveyor to load and unload at both ends simultaneously.

Large pumps at both ends and along the way need to access sea water.......

The U.S has basically given up on it and is now building a huge railway from one side to the other to transport cargo only. If the lack of rain continues which the U.S believes it will, then the hopes of maintaining this go out the window. The dutch are the best hope for saving this and are heavily involved now trying to come up with ways to save it.

We need a parallel canal to connect both ocean OR we need Jumbo Airports at both ends to pass on cargo on ships and pipe lines to transfer liquid cargo. For passenger liners and Defence ships it can cope up with existing canal.
