The Simpsons Hit & Run is a childhood favourite of mine and many other people who have experienced the game. Today, I'll be discussing what makes this game one of my personal favourites. Twitter: NikoIsHere2
This is the most blatant rip off of someone else’s video I have ever seen 😂 my guy has literally just re released a video release by tamago2474 4 years ago just to get more subs, every joke is the same, the format is the same… I could go on… could job plagiarising a video
Hit and Run was a timeless classic, a real gemstone to have for any PS2 owner. Though there are many more things in the game such as the extra minigames and cool cheats. But what I really love is that the main menu ACTUALLY changes depending on the holiday. It has both a Halloween and a Christmas theme when the system's clock is set to either of those days. Pretty neat.
It's so rad how everyone loves this game. I was born late 80's so playing this as teenager was just so perfect. Everything that was fun about games at the time and previously all in one. Driving, platforming, collectibles and some great open levels. I hope those folks that are remaking it are doing well
Very good video right here. I love this game and I still hope that this game gets a remaster or at least a re-release to modern consoles one day Keep up the good work
It’s crazy that we got TWO great licenced games in 2003: Hit and Run and SpongeBob SquarePants Battle for Bikini Bottom. Pair them, with Scooby Doo! Night of 100 Frights, and you get a trio of the best licenced games ever.
Played Simpson’s Road Rage when it first came out at like 7/8 years old and that freaking game transported me into Springfield. Can’t really explain it well but I played that game for absolute hours and felt like I really lived there. I played Hit & Run briefly but it wasn’t the same and so I never played it like that. Kinda wish I did
Bro, I was just thinking of installing this game on my steam deck and look what I found in my feed! Great video and amazing and unique commentary! Out of all the games I have played over the years, I always come back to Ocarina of time, Super Mario bros deluxe and The Simpsons Hit & Run! Truly a masterpiece! I wish you the best with your channel!
One of my favourite childhood games! Really beautiful game. There's one glitch that would be annoying the rest aren't an issue. (the map disappears for a minute or two but reappears)
When I was six we had this at out of hours school daycare thing, the one time someome brought a memory card and we saw level 2 like the heavens open up. Yes, we would always start back at level one otherwise. Man... those days were innocent and golden, and then there was Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix that undid that all.
The dvd boxes for 8 of the first 9 seasons were all nearly identical in their design (especially on the side), but with one of them they had it shaped like Homer’s head. So if you were a collector it would stick out like a sore thumb amongst the rest of the boxes
Personally, I always enjoyed The Simpsons Game (Xbox/PS3/PC/Wii) I just felt more like a Simpsons adventure to me... but I get it, Hit & Run is something special. I doubt it'll happen, but a remaster would be nice.
Grew up with this game, and I still play it from time to time. I still find the last few missions near enough impossible to complete even years later 😂
I always wondered why Maggie wasn't a playable character.... it would have been cool to do some missions like when maggie leaves home to look for marge... escape from the daycare and get all the pacifiers.... and fight that baby with the one eyebrow lol
I just dropped $84 on ebay so I could play this on GameCube. I also got a Carby so it will run in 480p on my modern TV. I gave up on it getting ported to modern consoles.
my brother and i played this a lot when we were kids. we didnt have a ps2 memory card so we had to start from the beginning every time. i had the first 30 minutes of the simpsons hit and run memorized for years.
Awesome video, man! I'm surprised to find another Sonic fan who was born the same year as me and also plays this game because I've never heard of one ever mentioning or talking about it. And I'll admit, I've noticed some similarities here with another RU-vidr's video but I still enjoy this and the other video regardless; Wish you could've explained the game mechanics and other stuff separately instead of mashing them all into the story sections because I tend to get distracted and even forget you were still talking about the story 😅😂 Nonetheless, you've earned a sub! I'd love to see what other things you'll be talking about and look forward to more Sonic content too! 💙
2004? Jeez. I was born in 2000. Simpsons hit and run was the best game back in the mid 2000s, even still to this day at 23 year old. I probably started playing this either a year before or the year you were born. So 3 or 4 years old. My brother is 2 and a quarter years older than me, so he got me into playing it. Really hope a remake is made, or even just a sequel to it, and the people who used to work at radical is in charge. There is a new zealander who's remaking it on unreal engine at the moment, which looks amazing. Think his name is reubs or something. He's actually just about finished. Hopefully that gets to become playable.
The canyonero may flip easily because of a bug, but i like to believe that its just because its true to the series, marge did say that they flip over easily
Blows my mind where I was more like your sister and had it when it first game out it was so fun it’s awesome a generation younger has nostalgia for the game also good vid!
@@thegamingprozone1941 Well the reason was that they sell the licence to EA for all Simpson Games and while they did, it was not clear who owns the rights to Hit & Run, because the company that did made the game did bancrupt (as i remember or something like that) aside from that I don't think at all that a company like EA could even make a great game like this. So we proply never will see any good simpson games anymore. Thank god that some ppl like Southpark do the games by themself and didn't sell rights for those, so we can atleast have a good game from time to time.
Vehicles like the Canyonero control really badly due to a bug in the game that causes the vehicles stability to be slightly tilted thus making it really easy for it to flip to it's side and the bad physics of the game do not help either. It's always been a huge problem in the speedrun community and even with the source code it's still not well known why this bug even exists so it's also a huge meme within the community of the game and they trash-talk on the programming of the game lol
I've such fond memories of playing this game with my cousin and swapping the controller back and forth between missions and spending an entire day trying to beat the last mission lol great game
This was a great video game. It was one of my favorite video games next to Super Smash Bros Melee. I'm glad you made a video about it. I love videos that gush about how good Hit and Run is cause there's some people I talk to that aren't that fond of it and I'm like what's wrong with you people. Also there's a trick to beat the Set to Kill mission. Idk if this is just a GameCube thing but what you have to do is after talking to Kearny and buying the Globex Super Villain Car. Instead of getting inside the Super Villain Car go to the near by toll booth and choose another vehicle. Preferably one that's fast and has good toughness. I usually use the Car Built for Homer. And that's the trick.
played this game when i was 12-13ish. i remember i took Hit and run too literal trying to run people over and ditch the car lmao. great video man! 81st sub here :D
Hey dude, your video is fucking sick! Thought your channel was way bigger and seen that somehow you only have 329 subs! good shit king Suggestion: When you do gags like playing Eminem "Lose yourself" Probably cut your voice saying the same thing as it makes the audio mixing awkward and the same point gets across other than that this video is very well edited and you're voice is very entertaining!
12:30 I'm curious. Where did this info come from. I can't find anything about it. Though from my own research it seems 4 maps were initially planned according to the source leak as opposed to the original 3.
Could you imagine how frustrating it would be if they included that 3:30 timer for the mission where you had to destroy the armored truck? Yeah, it was going to be that much more painful.
This game has a lot of replay value! I played the story so many times. I only replayed GTA V story two times. I only did a second to see Michael die. The Simpsons Hit & Run is a classic!
Great review. Entertaining and very thorough. If I could offer one critique, all the vulgarity kinda takes away from it, though. Best wishes with your channel going forward. 👍
I'm glad you love this game so much and I really do think it's a very good starting point, but you are being very dismissive of the games flaws, The missions are very repetitive and the time limits for a lot of them are just way too brutal, I think that would need to be acknowledged if they were to ever make a sequal. Sonic Adventure 2 is still 10/10 though I will agree with you there
I get that, you're probably pretty good at the game so they're not as brutal for you but it's still a common complaint most people have that I'd wanna see fix for a remake or sequel, at least optionally with the tighter time limit being a challenge or higher difficulty
When i played this game it genuinely dissapointed tf out of me. As a kid GTA was the biggest game out. I owned Vice City and San Andreas already. Everyone kept saying "its gta, but the Simpsons" i was hyped. I eventually borrowed it from a friend, i played it once and dropped it within a couple hours. There were no guns, you couldn't kill anybody, you could barely fight people and i couldn't even fight the police, if they got close to you it was game over. I hate how loved this game is. Jak 2 was more fun and closer to GTA than this
