The Free Cam, also known as the Debug Camera, can also be accessed as part of the extra cameras cheat, but it requires a Second Controller to operate. Therefore, you don't need external cheats or tools to do so. Just a heads up for a potential follow-up.
I remember messing around with the horn jump. I got so ridiculously high I saw the 2d backdrops and an interior. I miss when most games had cheats to let you obliterate them. 8:00 I always wanted to see this. It looks like Unturned.
DId you know that the longer you do a burnout, the bigger the boost? You know when it's at it's maximum when the smoke turns black and there's tiny fires under the wheels :)
Something to add; level 7 mission 5, alien auto topsy part 1. If you use the 'every vehicle cheat', you cannot complete the mission with the Ferrini Black. It's the only vehicle that won't be sucked up by the ufo
I think I know why that is, if I had to guess it's because in the 2nd mission in level 7 has the black car spawned by the green light of the UFO, if the car would get sucked up it would get stuck in a never ending loop and probably crash the game. Again that's just a guess but with the Halloween level cut cuz of time this might of been a glitch they had to quick fix asap
For the OWRC, it can also be an homage to the Marlboro Mclaren driven by the likes of Aryton Senna, again with a red and white design similar to the car in game. Marlboro was (and still is i think) a cigarette brand.
A remake of Hit and Run would be no better if it must adhere to Disney's mandates: 1. No Apu. Period. 2. Anyone with dead voice actors must remain absent or dead. 3. No Moe because he's already dead (Moe Ron crank call) 4. Any recasted characters must use their recasts (Carl for example). 5. No more harmful mockery of Disney (though not a problem for Hit and Run).
In level 2 you can find some parked cars behind a closed off parking lot. If you get out of bounds you can trigger their physics and watch them awkwardly roll on the ground. If I am not mistaken you have to stand on them and do the double jump attack. It's been a while since I played so I don't remember the exact location of the parking lot
@@MrFusion yeah, they're actually just props intended to decorate the map but it's really weird that they made them have physics instead of make them something non-solid. But their awkward collision possibly suggests they're not intended to be interacted with in the first place
When i was young i did the get into Burns mansion level 1 trick at 13:30 using the honk to jump cheat and never knew how i did it but it was so cool seeing something like that as a kid that couldnt get past the third level. Never knew about Marges level lol.
Hey-a, I'm an experienced SHaR modder and I find your video quite informative and interesting, nice job! However, there are some inaccuracies I wish to fix, just so the information is 100% correct 👌 4. These aren't actually loading areas, these are low-detailed LODs. The interiors load up as you enter them, they don't need separate areas to be loaded in, besides as you've mentioned, the interiors already spawn out of bounds, so there's no need for such areas. These LODs exist purely to create an illusion of an interior being there 5. Correct, albeit these signs change every time you reload the level or mission warp. The signs at the school and the community centre were also meant to be randomized, but the devs accidentally broke this feature, whoops 8. Technically, Krusty Glass simply respawns, but yeah I'd like to imagine that this is a correct ingame explanation (albeit these trucks never appear in later levels, sooo, perhaps they're here just to install the glass? Since all this Buzz Cola debuckle starts happening on Level 1) 9. This dialogue was actually supposed to play when you *reach* the mansion. It doesn't work in the final game for some reason, why it was replaced in the conversation, I've got no idea, since there are 2 different types of conversation (convinit and noboxconv), both of which are incompatible with one another. The "There he is!" line is noboxconv, while the entire Burns dialogue is convinit, they simply wouldn't work...? 13. You actually skip the ped group trigger there, which would switch the ped group to the one that roam around the rich side. No idea why is that trigger so low, but yeah, it is 19. This isn't actually a glitch, more of an oversight. The barricade that spawns in is a Street Race Prop (SRP), and is dynamically loaded in and out of the mission. While it loads in, it ignores collision checks and when it sees the car is inside, it does nothing 22. This happens because the power couplings are a part of the region, where the mission takes place (l1z6.p3d), and as soon as you unload that region, the data regarding the couplings gets deleted, and the mission can't spawn them the second time without restarting it, thus crashing the game 23. Now, this happens because the end of the ramp has a special jumptrigger. These greatly enhance the speed of your car so you can make ridiculous jumps. When the car leaves this trigger in this specific way, the game gets confused and thinks the vehicle never left the trigger, so the speed change persists 37. A lot of vehicles use the SetCharacterScale argument in their CON files (basically, vehicle parameters), and it's not really related to the entering animation, you could keep the standart animation intact, and the character's size will change as soon as he sits down. What matters, is if the car has doors (SetHasDoors) and if the fadeout transition is active (SetIrisTransition), then it will not "warp" you inside of the car, unless you do stand on top of the roof of course 42. As mentioned earlier, these aren't loading zones, and why bother changing them at all? Besides the devs were really in a rush to make it to the deadline, so changing LODs to accomodate for the level is quite useless 46. This uses a camera trigger. The trigger itself is in the tractor beam area, while the camera - somewhere on the playground. Since the trigger is loaded in 100% of the time, it will work outside of missions 48. It's not silver, it's actually just a tad bit greenish. I remember Colou restoring the original look of the car with this colour and different lights. The object in the back of the trunk is supposed to be Homer's beloved bowling ball...at least that's what I think it is Overall, I'd say the video is pretty accurate and fun to watch :) Hope to see more of your content, especially on Levels 2, 3, 5 and 6! (And, hey if you'd need help with any of those, hit me up, I think I have a couple of interesting things up my sleeve ;) )
That picture of 'Mindy' in Krusty's magazine's centrefold is actually a headshot of Mindy pasted onto a squashed picture of Marge from the book "Bart Simpson's Guide to Life". Marge in a pink negligee is a core memory of mine. For some reason.
The "silver thing" inside the trunk (boot) of the 70s sports car looks like it could be the boulder that homer tries to use to drown himself in season 1 episode 3.
@@baxter22071990 it's a pretty wonky bowling ball, if that's the case. Looks like a rock to me, but the hit and run wiki page on fandom claims it's a disco ball, which would make sense for a 70s car. I'm still going with boulder though.
I'd love a remake but I don't trust any big company to remake it and remain faithful to the original tbh, I'm also very worried that they'd change the graphics style to look overly cartoony or god forbid cell shaded
17:47 the first painting Is, imo, George Washington. The sharp angle in the hair is much more similar to Washington and, in a minority of his paintings, he wears a black coat with a white frilly shirt. Mozart is usually depicted in red (and they were probably going for the common denominator of who ever it’s based on) and he also has two wide curls one on top of the other, more or less pressed up closer to his face.
Yeah 100%. It would also make sense from a Simpsons perspective as Hans Sprungfeld fought George Washington as part of Springfield's backstory, and he appears several times in the show as a ghost. I imagine the hair is also way too short to be Mozart or Beethoven
28:41 is also a reference to when Bart (nearly) sells his soul to Devil Flanders for a racing car, the same episode where homer sells his sould for a donut and ends up with the donut head (another in game costume!)
Regarding the 636 to 686 thing, I'm wondering if they originally were planning it saying 666, but when they put the 6 on the sign they forgot to remove the 3, having the two numbers overlapping which makes it look like an 8.
23 is used in the speedrun for this game, in Alien Autotopsy 2, the runner leaves Snake's car on the ledge next to the no TV no beer house and has the Black Ferrini push it off. The runner then positions the car near the cemetery and hits a jump to leave the map and drive OOB to collect the waste.
The 686 I can't think of a reason. Other than maybe that the number of the beast is actually 616 and was changed by the Catholic Church to 666 around the 1600s to "prevent actual witchcraft".
Aside from the Halloween level i notice in the game Halloween was exactly 2 days ago and my ps2 is up to date time and year and when I played hit and run the HUB was Halloween themed
I think the 686 sign could have been a subtle jab at Christian fanatics in the show. What if the joke was that it originally said 666, but some righteous soul like Helen Lovejoy complained endlessly about not thinking of "The Children", so Chief Wiggum, Eddie and Lou got involved. However, instead of changing the sign, they just half assed the job like they do everything, sprayed over the 6 to look like an 8, and called it a day. It could have been a precursor to the opening of the Simpsons movie, where Apu does the same thing with expired milk
Have you ever played crash tag team racing? you know the one with Pasadena and such. It wasn’t very well received by critics and it’s one of the most hated games in the crash bandicoot community. it was a childhood favourite of mine though :) I think there is one or two videos on YT showing what was left out in the beta version and some out of bounds footage
i think some of the item that display under the map is for quick access where you reach to different part of the map, the game will set up the object faster without loading the item since old game back in 2000s often have that method before videogame using High Quality model also the green goo or blood under the washing machine look like they used it for the water hydrant water decal
As it is unclear what clip was what, No 9- the fat and the furious dialogue error- if the first is the NTSC version- the full accusation is in the PAL version
