There's a different between Tucson and South Tucson? The reason TPD officers are quitting, and HAVE BEEN quitting for almost two years straight, Isn't due to the pay. The reason they are quitting is, the Police Department itself. There is litlte to no upward mobility. You are either a uniformed cop, or an investigator/ detective what heave you. It is a two caste system. The investigator caste treat the uniform guys n gals, like dogshit. IN front of god and everyone, they talk the most ridiculous smack to these guys. And it's not person. It is entirely tradition. And these investigators, are mostly promoted from within. However there are only so many positions. SO guys that were patrolling a beat on Friday, get promoted, and come Monday , they are trash talkin, insulting, belittling guys they had just worked with on Friday, and for years prior. Guys on the receiving end, they see this badgering and abuse as tests of their mettle, rarely reporting and be marked as a "pussy" for your career. Conversely, Pima County Sheriff's dept. is one of the top five in the country! Their budget is ridiculous, the are given equipment , weapons and vehicles each modified to heavy policing duties, the venders, knowing that if their product gets a good review or ANY positivity notice from any street beat uniformed Pima County Deputy or one of the training cadre, that it is a top endorsement, which results in big money for the manufactures and modifiers.
not to mention the punk ass street cops, harassing ppl for running a legal business. making us leave and use our $$ from the different states weve fled to send your city criminals, and border jumpers.
