I love the spec b unfortunately i didn’t have enough money to get one so i just a regular 08 gt but my buddy has had two 07 spec b’s now and that’s what made me fall in love with the legacy gt
For an amateur vid, you did a great job. Try not to use “fade to black” screens, except for really quick transitions, or making comedic points. Just keep the picture or “slide show” going until you finish your point. Keeps the viewer engaged more. I work in film so that’s where I’m coming from. Any ways, keep making vids! Your information you shared was incredibly thought out and thorough!! Well done!
Don’t forget there was such a thing called the limited edition Subaru Legacy STi out of JDM, e.g. the S401 and S402. They were the last hurrahs of their outgoing models, like the S201, S202, S203, all the way to S209 of the WRX STi world. There were also the WR (World Rally) Edition, the ts (tuned by STi) edition and the Aussies had their own special version of Subaru Liberty STi too, all before the Levorg (LEgacy reVOlution touRinG) brand replaced the Legacy in Japan.
I have a 2005 Legacy GT. I bought it new and still have it to this day. I've got an up and down pipe with a tune and sway bars. I love the car. I'm tempted though to trade it for a spec b if I can find one at a shop willing to offer a trade.
My 06’ SpecB has a build number plate right below the shifter where yours says SI DRIVE. I always thought that was a nice touch and it shows how truly limited the car is. Did they just move that to another location or do away with it all together in later models?
Nice video bro!! I thought is was done really well with explanations on a lot of stuff I didn't know. I have to go back and listen to your pronunciation on the Massive STI Wing.........that was hilarious!
How are you enjoying it mate? I have plotted around in an A to B car for a good 7 years now. I feel it's time to jump into something nice and treat myself. The last month I've leaned to liberty's and only just discovered the Bspec. Should I take the jump? They look so nice and powerful
@@rusty899 I would take it, they are only increasing in value and if you want to sell it for more later you should, It is a blast to drive and every time I hop in it it never gets old.
I probably tell my mom too much but im looking at getting one of these. Mainly want that sti 6 speed with the tall gearing otherwise i would get the newer 2012.
i drove 2.0 Impreza´s a lot the last 13 years but now i got a 3.0R 2006 Leggy, im in germany and all people i know say my car look ugly =( ...all who said this are driveing Audi, VW, Mercedes, Skoda and Ford ( Euro Standart) and a bit newer MY as my car. Damn iam so lonely, but when i hit the pedal they look good i guess...idk, i dont tell them that it is a flat 6. I love Subaru!
I would like to have one of these but you do not find any of it in Europe. If someone wants to sell his 2008 Subaru Legacy GT Spec B, contact me please!
I've never driven one, but I'd like too. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with either. The flat 6s sound like Porsches, and also have more stock torque
@@HandBrakeJake oh okay damn they must be pretty rare or just unwanted because not many people have even heard of Subaru making a 6 cylinder engine 🥲 I am going to test drive one tomorrow at a used car dealership only has 94,000 miles on it for only 7.5k manual aswell (ofc) fingers crossed it all goes well 🤞🏽
Hi Jake, I love your video. I too love my spec B. Are you by chance a member of the Spec B facebook group? If not I'd like you to join. Thanks for making this video! Keep up the great content.
I appreciate your honesty on the 'built' section of the video. If the short block doesn't have forged pistons and rods, maybe the drive shaft. It's not built. So much BS online these days but I love how you explain it. Big props man. Edit: beautiful example my man, love it.
What’s the si mode? Does it change the hp numbers for different modes? Thinking of getting a 08 lgt or 08 lgt spec b and 5k difference in price. Wondering if the extra 5k is worth it for the spec b
have you done a comparison on inlet temp with and without the engine cover panel. Just bought an 05 LGT and it doesn't have one and curious if I should get one.
i wish we had the turbo version in the uk, all the turbo ones are jdm imports are cost twice the price of the normal ones. the others are 3.0r spec b models, 245hp non turbo...
Those come with the EZ30 if i'm not mistaken. Respectable power for a naturally aspirated boxer. Shouldn't be too hard to throw an ebay nagasaki noisy boi at it. There are some Subaru flat 6 engines that are based on the EJ but i've never looked into it properly. Subaru had a twin turbo EZ30 concept car that was scrapped early on.
@@Tzalmavet Yeah. EZ30, not based on the EJ like the earlier EG33 was based on the 2.2. The 3.0 is a ground up design. Actually codeveloped with Porsche and I think the best choice for a Legacy in terms of smoothness and reliability. The newer 3.6 is just a 3.0 bored out a bit.
Hey man, You said you get between 21 - 26 MPG & 30 highway if you're lucky... My 2008 Legacy GT gets 18 - 20 MPG normally & it's mostly all stock with no tune. How are you getting such high MPG with performance tunes???
It depends on a couple things. If you have the GT Limited, then you have the Si-Drive, which allows for Intelligent mode. That mode reduces throttle response and boost, which helps with gas mileage. You could have a dirty MAF sensor, clogged cat(s), and depends on how you drive. I've found that any kind of boost drains your MPG, so I try to stay under 3k when shifting for good MPG.
@@HandBrakeJakeI do have the Limited & I usually leave it on intelligence mode & drive it fairly civilly lol so guess it could possibly be the MAF sensor which I will be cleaning when I add a new intake on in a week or so. So I hope that's just the case but guess we'll see! P.S. I totally forgot to reply last week when I saw your response, oops.
Fantastic cars, In the EU we have a 3.0 SpecB. Only 37 sedans like mine were made (65z paint code with the 6 speed and 3.0 EZ30D) amazingly only 50 BL/BP Right Hand Drive cars were made for the UK for 2008/09 Years. The low volume is probably due to everyone buying BMWs but that even makes them more unique i.imgur.com/pqcirjY.jpg i.imgur.com/xMwEory.jpg
