Deni Avdija is best as a point forward. he played PG at high-school. they've changed his role from SF to point forward after the TDL and his numbers went to 20ppg 6apg 8rpg at that part of the season. ending with 15 6 4 the all season. True shooting 60%.
If Blazers don't run the offense through Deni then there was no point in making this trade caus thats the best version of Deni and how this team could maximize its potential. Not a Blazers fan but would love to see them finally do well!
I’m gonna be honest I’m loving Clingan’s upside as a short roll passer with all of the great cutters we have on our team. Scoot, Shae, and Deni could EAT with Donovan creating for them
It should be mentioned that while the Wizards this year was historically bad rebounding wise, their offense was fluent and decent. So how Deni would be able to acclimate in Portland is yet to be seen.
Crazy they signed him for this contract and traded him ... he could've got much more in free agency with this todays NBA money and maybe sign in a more competitive team but hopefully the blazers will click with each other and he'll sign a bigger contract next time
Die hard wizards fan here: i know you trailblazer fans wanna joke on the wizards for this move but be humble, we know he’s a great up in-coming player and unfortunately were in the beginning of this rebuild were he would hinder our future for where we want to go. So with that being said be patient with deni he’s going to get keep getting better if you give him the space to cook but if you guys fail ( as expected ) you will get more for what you gave up for him, just know the wizards were going to win to many games with him on the roster. He is the lamb for cooper which we will get mark my words.
Their timeline is way brighter than the Wizard timeline. The Blazers actually got some talent to develope and make the pieces fit can give them atleast 2-3 core players. But both teams still searching for a franchise player imo
Been watching Locked in Blazers for some time and Mike Richmond keeps saying something about the Advija trade that I think is inaccurate. In the Advija trade Mike said that the Blazers owe the middle pick from MIL (unprotected), BOS (unprotected) and the blazers own first rounder. That is not what the trade says and it is not necessarily what will happen. What they traded is their second best 1st round pick to WAS in the 2029 draft. So here’s the thing. If they get close to the 2029 draft and it looks like the blazers will make the playoffs, but MIL is bad and for some reason BOS fell apart and they are bad too. In this scenario the blazers could trade one of those picks prior to the 2029 draft and then convey their second best first round pick (their own pick) to WAS. Mike keeps talking like the blazers may potentially have to convey a good draft pick because it will be the middle pick. That ain’t it though. They have to convey their second best pick, which could be their worst pick. The only thing that has to happen is that Portland has at least 2 first round picks in 2029. Am I wrong? I think they could trade one of the picks prior to the draft and then WAS would still be able to get their second best first round pick
The pick is protected across all three teams. They can’t just trade one of the picks to try to game the system. The language of the deal is the “the second most favorable of the Portland/Milwaukee/Boston” picks. So there’s the thing…
