Because (amazingly!) the MiG-29 is a bloody good plane, and available at bargain basement prices! What's not to love? And after all, the US military has to spend $24,511 every single second of every single day!

About thirty years ago my father and I were driving past Nellis AFB before the cinderblock wall was built. Now I saw this more than once. There was a MiG-29 on the north ramp painted in what looked like chromate green.

Because this video is clickbait crap. The US bought the MiG-29's from Moldova IN 1997, after the fall of the USSR, to prevent Iran from purchasing them. That's it. End of story.

I assume you meant F 35 lightening? Because the US navy and marine corps don't fly the F 22 RAPTOR. Only the US air force does, and they don't operate off aircraft carrier's.
