Ha Ha!!! Love you girl!!!! We were watching our vids at the same time :) Final Cut Pro Software on a Macbook Pro is what I use. If you can get the student discount (you can buy through the Apple Store) the software is reduced to 249 I think and you get other stuff with it, without the student discount its like 400 I think.

Ya they are really cool, cheap on gas, you can park them anywhere, and they are just plain cool!!!! I love mine and have driven it across Canada. It would be a cool tour vehicle for you!!!

Newly subscribed! Greetings from from a Canadian (Kitchener) now living in Austria. Great video! So true, the Vanagon is the best! Cool paint job, scared to ask what that cost! I brought my 86 Westy with me to Europe, no way I was selling her! Just put the Westy into the hibernation for the winter this week, never winter driven :) Curious, can you still find those front driver & passenger roll down window channels with the chrome insert anyhwere? I did find replacements for the bottom section but not the rest of the window.

I am only about 45 min away from where you were. How do you like it in Australia ? What caused the move? (you don't have to say if you don't want) Glad you brought your Westy with you, mine is like part of the family, "Steve" has his own key chain LOL. I actually bought mine painted like that, but it was run out of oil so it was knocking really bad. I rebuilt the engine, and put a rebuilt transmission in there and its all good. Been here since 2003. Some family still there in Kitchener. We had alot of friends and family in Toronto so we were there allot. Austria is a beautiful country, the people, that's another story, lol. How should I out it... Canadians are easy going eh.😄👍🤙🍻 Used to go to Cuba allot when I lived in Kitchener. To make the story short, I'll just say my coming to Austria started by my now wife's vacation in Cuba too, even though we did not meet there. Its actually an unreal story. She loves our Westy as much as I do. Just had the Westy appraised last year as I wanted it fully insured. Wow, have they gone up in value!! Yes, I see you you have videos on other vehicles too, great! If by chance you ever come across those window channels which allow the chrome look insert like your Steve. Cheers!
@@kanuckster1 Hey so sorry about that Austria is not Australia. Your wife sounds like mine, my wife loves Cuba, we have been there many times, and she loves that VW!!! My van was originally purchased in Kitchener or Guelph, then was sold to a guy in Quebec, and then I bought it and took it back to Ontario. @@GarageKing my wife was only in Cuba once before I met her, she is Austrian. I was in Cuba well over 20 times. Since being in Austria, made it b to Cuba just twice. Thanks for the link. I've seen that on GoWesty, it's only the bottom section. Seems you can't find this scraper with the groove to fit the chrome plastic for the rest of the window anywhere. I like the chrome look instead of just b the black rubber. Something nice about keeping Westy as close to original as possible.

Hey thanks for the comment brother. This one is 1986. From 1986-1991 they had the bigger engine 2.1L so those are generally the most desirable if you are actually going to drive it on long trips. I have taken mine across the country. It gets pretty good gas mileage as it’s fuel injected :) thanks and if you need anything else just let me know. One of my playlists is all on vanagon repairs etc. I love this thing !!!

Vanagon... Where do I start? Let's start with the fact that in a crash YOU are the crumple zone. It will suck you dry in repairs. It will leave you stranded in Death Valley. It will change lanes without warning in a strong wind. It will almost come to a complete stop trying to go up even the most gentle incline. ---------- And oh my God do I ever miss my old one! It is like an abusive relationship. It will keep taking and taking and taking from you without mercy and without apology. And you will keep giving because, for some reason, they are impossible to resist. Don't own one anymore and I never will again. But I'll never forget it and I will always long for another.

@@GarageKing For thirteen years my ride was a 2wd Transporter, (panel van), and for ten years a Syncro Vanagon, running hundreds of thousands kilometers per each. Conclusion: Syncro seems to be similar to a 2wd Vanagon but it isn't. The difference is Huge for the favor of Syncro. Not only in terms of transmission, as it can be obvious, but in terms of stability, active and passive safety, too. @@HellenicVanagonTheSyncroHeresy I checked out that website, lots of cool stuff. I think just the stance of the Syncro is awesome. The diff is bullet proof, they are soo durable and overbuilt, I would never sell yours, they are so rare and cool, and one of the best off-roading vehicle. You have something special there for sure!!!!
Ha Ha, they are still out there, more modern stuff for sure, but the Vanagon is pretty unique. I think the best part is its small footprint, so its easy to park in the the driveway, and with the engine in the rear you get a lot of room. A lot of guys are doing subaru engine conversions to make them more friendly on the highway.
