I never once had any amount of interest in checking out domestic girlfriend. But knowing that he's being roasted for getting people to check it out suddenly makes the series really appealing to me.

Domestic Girlfriend is unironically a worthy piece of art. It is a story pretty well told from what I've seen and heard of it, which isn't much, but enough to get a decent idea of what it's like. A refreshingly adult life story. Domestic Girlfriend deserves its place in the anime world, and that is why it still comes up to this day.

Unironically the arc where he becomes a writer's apprentice was so good. The ending to that arc made me cry

Kinda feels like Garnt doesn't realize his influence in anime fans he's one of the oldest anitubers and even with his terrible upload schedule(specially in his main channel for the longest time which is a death sentence to any RU-vidrs) he's still one of the most recognizable and trusted anituber when I first encounter his channel several years ago I was 13 and hated yt and youtubers(influencer still don't like them to this day) just use it for anime and anime top 10s when I saw his video my brain was like "funny SEAsian looking British speaking guy says this anime is good might watch it now" for me he's like the "old reliable" that I always use and trusted

Okay to be honest, on paper domekano sounds ridiculous when you first hear its synopsis but just think all of the drama shows and compare to its plot it makes sense for that genre. For me i first read the manga so it was also pretty surprising for me but at the end of each chapter leaves you hanging on what is going to happen next, so you keep on reading and reading until you reach the end which is very similar to drama shows. It aint bad but it aint good either.

I also had a moment of weakness last night and finally decided to read Domestic Girlfriend. And I gotta say, 25 chapters in I'm enjoying it so far (Please don't spoil anything in the comments I beg of thee)

At least Garnt still genuinely enjoys anime and manga, plus don't act all knowing and have superiority complex to his takes like Joey the hipster man. Plus, I feel like Garnt always gives fair chances to every anime/manga series even to non-japanese ones like Korean manwah & chinese manhwa. Connor literally only watch anything that's hype or gets talk about on twitter or something, while Joey just wants to shit on everything new because he's a boomer hipster.

Look, if something didn't die yet. That just means it was remarkable. DomeKano came out when things were looking really bland. Like, I believe it aired alongside One Piece(beginning of WCI Arc), BNHA and Rent a Girlfriend. It was boring stuff all around and nothing very interesting. I'd say this show nailed its release timing. But DomeKano was in a league of its own. I mean, what protag other than the one in a Hentai gets fucked ep 1?
