@@MrAlexmiele8910the issue is what the video author points out? It shouldn't be an option in PvP games to begin with(at least without alternatives)- its completely stupid and unfair and basically ruins any semblance of realism or what makes combat... combat. "hardcore" shooters like ARMA, DayZ, PUBG, etc shouldn't have this feature unless you manually turn it on. Imagine what Escape from Tarkov or even CS2 would be like if you could see around corners without revealing yourself in any way.
@@midnightslasher6049 oh I get what you’re saying dude. I’m just pointing out that in PuB, when you choose FPP, you can only use FPP during that game. But if you choose TPP, you can alternate between FPP and TPP… that seems fair.
this video is legitimately just showing objective and fundamental issues with 3rd person in ARMA and dayz and people are still getting angry lol never change
I'm shocked this video exists today. The 3rd person question was answered like 10 years ago. I remember in the early Arma battle royale mod. there were 2 versions as I recall. Hardcore was 1st person and normal was 3rd person. 3rd person was just a different game altogether. Imagine playing Tarkov with 3rd person. it would be a game, just a really different game. I agree, with your message. I'm just wondering if there is really any debate about the topic.
I MEAN IT REALLY depends like something like tom clany wildlands or whatever i get that its not a big deal if its stricly pve BVut at the very least there needs to be options that are stricly FPS that promote more competitivce realisitc play@@techterror1282
@@techterror1282 you don't care even when he shows that it is literally cheating for the high ground player, or the guy at the wall... at least in pvp there is no way to keep 3rd person
It's really for any first person pvp game, third person sucks. People also do this on Roblox PVP games but on there, you can zoom out literally a field away and easily flank them
Im sending this video to a friend who actively defends third person on the premise that since both parties have it, it makes it fair, when the defending party always has the advantage with third person, At least in 1st person all defenders will usually have a advantage anyway but at least with 1st person you both have to expose yourselves making it fair. Thanks for making this video
This whole video is a clear example of the weakness of old gamers. In their prime they might have been able to adapt and overcome difficulties to win the game, but as they aged they just make silly videos to beg for the devs attention. Maybe you should just pull yourself up by your boot straps and overcome this difficulty like you overcame fighting bin Laden on the beaches of Normandy or whatever you old boomers claim.
Obviously, if you play third person against someone in first person, you have an advantage. But if you're both able to use third person, it isn't necessarily worse or better, just different. I played PUBG a lot when it came out, and it became wildly popular in third person. It makes for more positional and tactical play compared to just raw aim duels, and fastest reaction time wins - some people don't find that very engaging either.
You could do the same tactics in first person you just had to pop up and check where the enemy is while planning your attack possibly giving them a chance to see you, and maybe even initiate a dynamic gunfight. The worst part is 3rd person players won't peek at all if your looking at them I've been in a open field and a dude pops up on top the house I'm going towards but he waited till i was 20 metres out and then failed, then for the next few minutes he wouldn't peek until i looked away made for a pretty piss poor gunfight when he wouldn't fight without me having to turn my back even when he is in cover and I'm in the open, keep in mind I'm in first person playing peekaboo doing 180s trying to get something to happen Same as people who wait at the end of containers for you to be 2 feet away, if they had to peek they would have no chance, so they wait for the easiest possible kill. Tldr 3rd person players hate gunfights, 1st person has prolonged gunfights and way more ammo gets used due to the fairness of it
@@elaine6344 Just sounds like you don't understand how to play games with third-person perspective, friend. Why would the guy on the house peak to give you a "fair fight" unless he was trying to lose 😂 Some people may not enjoy third person, or perhaps they're worse at it, but that it isn't inherently "bad" or "good". Yes, third-person perspective favours different strategies, including holding angles without having to look around them.
@@Sholto_David it's not a lack of understanding, it's being annoyed at people playing like huge pussies who can't get any kills unless the fight isn't fair
@@Gekquerel yes so play on servers that have it disabled, I understand there is a advantage that can be used both ways. There is something for everyone in arma, you just have to look.
@@saminasser7807how? I play on multiple shooters that have an option for either FPP or TPP with optional FPP to enable. I understand his view concerning realism, but I don't see how that's a problem, what is even his point? Play where it's fair for all or don't play at all. I hate how TPP is mostly chosen by players but tough shit, people like what they like.
@@abdou.the.heretic shooters are the exact scenario where third person makes absolutely no sense, other than to check the drip. But the very essence of what makes a game a shooting game is the fact that you have to be able to find and shoot the enemy using the eyes in your head. If you wanted a camera flying around you telling you where the enemies are then there is absolutely no purpose in putting in any real effort in hiding/ finding the enemy when there is no risk to you. If anyone uses 3rd person in a shooter then you are genetically weaker and belong in the fruit fields picking berries.
Does it really matter though if everyone can use 3rd person? Like in, for example, PUBG, you have dedicated first person modes and choose your view modes. I think this more than solved the problem. And, well, the AI can't quite complain about fair play when it, most of the time, doesn't exactly abide to the rules either.
That's kinda only in Tarkov so the NPCs act like the players but I have some instances in other games before however I thought those to be flukes as they only happened that one time
I think that leaning changing which shoulder the camera is on helps a little bit but I've always preferred first person since you have to actually be exposed to see people
❤ i fully agree these games are ment to be realistic and competitive 3rd person takes away from that a completely ruined it for me and the industry has done it to nearly all the games because its what the fortnite want... I switched to Vr flat-screen sitdown gaming is dead to me it was a good run but its been going in a direction I ain't gonna follow I don't care about their agendas I don't want them listening to my chat banning me if I use words they don't like im done with the whole market.. Vr hasn't been corrupted yet like the console market its still small studios that do what they want 😉
@@Agent0range-A- if fortnite has 3rd person view, yes. But so has mario kart. Your implication that 'these games' get ruined by 3rd person, and the industry has done it because of trying to copy fortnite, overlooks the fact that games like arma have been around a lot longer than say fortnite. Unless you mean it seperately. But then mentioning it in one sentence suggests there is some correlation between the two.
@@Netlogic. depends entirely on the situation, such as wall peaking and being on a roof like this video depicts. The other person being in 3rd person makes no difference in those scenarios
Great video, I first want to say I prefer first person only everything, I hate 3rd person locked games whether it's single player or online. However I think in pvp it's fair to say everyone has access to it so it's kind of a mechanic and it's only unfair if you don't understand how to use it and that's more of a learning curve. In pve it's definitely breaking immersion but some people like that gameplay. A lot of people play games on easy because they just wanna run through it and I'm personally guilty of that and playing in 3rd person is another advantage to make something easy
