I had many shipping erroneous adjustments from Fedex/UPS earlier in the year. I now ship most items through USPS because I have never had a shipping adjustment from USPS.

Nice items Mike, especially that Sonos and the repaired Miller sign!! Can't believe the UPS $1600 saga continues - hoping it's resolved for you soon. It's heartbreaking to think how UPS might cripple (or worse) those who can least afford it. Clearly, you've been beyond patient with this one!! Praying just a few more days!!

Ya know, Mike, it's a good thing you live just around the corner from eBay. You can show up at their lobby with your UPS problem, and they WILL fix it. You look like somebody NOT to bullshit; you are formidable, by nature. And also a very nice and reasonable man. You can avoid this problem in the future by using door dash to pick up and drop off your packages they send you the receipt showing acceptance at the weight and size you indicated. It cost $3 up to 5 packages, plus you get a witness (doordash) to verify 😅.

I worked 30 years in shipping industry- companies do not like to refund- usually they require that you protest and even when refund due-you have to request the money!

Here in the Netherlands I notice the following with shipping (not through eBay, just with the shipping companies): When I ship as consumer, I won't get any fines or higher prices. It's a fixed price for a certain weight or box size. When I ship with a company that has contracts with various shipping companies, I will get these fines and "adjustments" for fuel etcetera. That's because it's commercial shipping. I'm not saying that this is (part of) the problem. I just wanted to mention this. For me, it only benefits me to use the commercial shipping method for heavier packages that are not to big or outside the Netherlands. Then it saves a decent amount of money. Otherwise, as I suddenly have to pay VAT on top (sending packages normally don't have VAT here) and it will be more expensive for sure when sending as consumer. As company it doesn't matter concerning VAT as you get a refund on that.

I just talked with someone i bought an item from through eBay and they had the same thing happen to them with an item they had sold and the shipping was adjusted by UPS and they were charged 1500 dollars out of there account directly with no notice of the charges. The item was only sold for 150 dollars to begin with, and the shipping was not that much. Thenan adjustment and charge of 1500 dollars. It's crazy and this should be a class action lawsuit imo. This is robbery, and like you said, if they do this to a little guy, it'll put them out of business. Maybe a class action lawsuit needs to happen to put these people in their place and make them accountable. Nobody's above the law.

Someone knows something at UPS. It's nuts to be charged $1600 without someone have a flag to look at that item. UPS has probably made a serious amount of money off these over charges.

Amazon should be ashamed of themselves just like the usps as this money issue may cause some people to go back to a traditional job if it has not already as people need money to survive. I can’t help that think there must be 1000’s of these ups issues where they overcharge say $20 and people just wear it because it’s not commercial to fight it.

Good that you got your money back I'm thinking has ur Postal service updated their machinery or software? Very strange. I have an email for my postal service as I have a business account with them here in Australia and they said that they will be adjusting postage if items sent have been underweighted. It's pretty cool because I can import myself from eBay to my postal account and print the labels at home. The more opposed per month the biggest my discount. Cheers Graham

eBay does this all the time. They tell you they will refund you in 48 to 72 hours and 90% of the time they do not. They just lie to you to get rid of you.

I shipped a book 1 lb 3 oz. & I shipped it media mail then I got a email from usps adjustment they said my book wasnt qualified as media mail & charged me flat rate priority. I never got that item resolved.

So sorry - UPS charged me $196 extra on a package that alreadyt paid $60 for ... it was off by 10% measurements . appealed on ebay and denied. Dont use UPS unless needed

When you list items and set the shipping to be free or shipping paid by buyer. Do you set the shipping cost or let eBay calculate shipping for the buyer?

I just pay the lowest price that ebay shows me. Ex: A 1lb book. About $4.50.

23:45 That makes me CRAZY! I don't like chintzy people. And when they just want to PLAY....no. I don't play. I have on some of my listings: "Your purchase helps support a disabled senior and her dog." To let people know how important and appreciated their purchase is. And then some Jacka... comes in and wants to get themselves a "deal" and it's a game to them, so just no. I will take offers, but I will NOT take insults. And almost every time, if I hold my ground, the person will come back and pay the asking price. They just want to see if they can cheat a disabled senior and her dog. And I have been selling on Ebay since 1998 and 100% of the time, the person who tries to get themselves a "deal," it's a male. No bashing males here, but I have dealt with this since I started selling at flea markets and yard sales in 1978, before the internet, and guys will either flirt or talk down to me and I guess they get a big thrill out of screwing a woman over. So yeah, it makes me crazy. And if they talk down to me or make disparaging remarks about my items thinking I'm going to cower down and let them have it cheaper because they've bashed my product, the price just went up. However, one time when I had just moved back to Alabama, I went to a flea market for the first time since I returned and I had all my stuff out on tables and here came the other dealers and one guy especially was trying to insult my items so I'd let him have it for way less and one of the dealers had walked up and he recognized me from the years and years when I sold at flea markets in the past and he said to that guy, "You're wasting your time Buddy. This woman's been doing this for years and years. You ain't gonna pull anything over on her!" That was cool 24:20 I can't sell a Bible to save my life. Well, I take that back. I do sell them on occasion, but rarely. I did, however, have a guy email me telling me he operated a Free Bible ministry and asked me if I would donate ALL my Bibles to him. Great video!

I get these shipping adjustments every now and then. I know my weights and measurements are right. I know what the rates are and i still get adjustments sometimes, but usually for $2-$5 but I don't fight it. Not worth the time. It's what ever they say goes I guess. How many do they do for a few bucks. Probably millions of dollars.

UPS is doing that, I have had a few like that but from USPS small amounts of money I just overlooked that and kept working. I think there are some in the system that know they can just pull numbers out of thin air and get away with it - crooks I say. Hope you win your case.

Ebay let’s liars get away with stuff all the time my latest buyer has two new items they purchased fro me for ten days then she writes that she got the items and unpacked them washed them four times in laundry soap and vinegar and the shirts stink well now if you wash the shirts four times in your laundry soap and vinegar maybe your stuff stinks I mean seriously you buy new items admit you destroy them and now you want a full refund you want to keep the items and you want to leave negative feedback I call eBay the supervisor states the feedback will be removed in 48 hours nope it is not gone so I call again now they want me to prove more things really eBay why not make the liar prove that the shirts smell send them to eBay because you washed them in your soap and vinegar yeah cause your stuff sinks

Yeap, It's unfair the way sellers are treated. I have always said treat the sellers like dirt they will leave. You will end up with fewer and fewer sellers.

Unfortunately, your biggest issue is you have to work through a middleman because you are not using your own UPS account. I had UPS make a adjustment to me as well and one phone call and about 5 minutes later the issue was resolved.
