Well, depending on the size of his classroom, it might not be too hard. It looks like he only had like fifteen kids, if that. Teachers expect their students to be accountable, so this is probably his way of showing an example that he is accountable, too. One of my students created a secret handshake with me that had like, five steps! It was hard to remember at first, but I eventually got it! With enough practice and repetition, it becomes muscle memory! I am going to try this with my kids this year!

And when you leave he also hands you a pile of work to take home so that you wont forget him!

Kimberley Marshall a lot of people have a safe word- like if I got picked up from school by surprise by someone I didn't recongnize, but they said they were picking me up, I'd ask them for the safe word, they'd whisper it to me, and then I could leave. Only my parents and I know the safe word. Once used, it's changed.

"Nope, you're not someone I'm supposed to be with cause you don't know the handshake!!"

That's an excellent idea if you're ever in need of leaving your kids elsewhere (like school) and someone else has to pick them up! Adds another level of safety & it's cool, so the kid isn't likely to have a problem with it.
