I have it in Elmax with black G10 handle material. It is a real convex and it has turned into the daily knife I carry and just use all the time. Holds its edge forever. Black micarta not G10. Happy New Year!
Hi. Obviously the handle and steel is different material between the pxl and pxlx, but no one talks about the difference in grind. The pxl is a convex and the pxlx is a flat. Could you comment if the pxlx is better for chopping food prep due to the flat grind. Be nice to have some feedback on the difference in blade grinds between the two.
Hey, guys. Just wanted to say thank you for being here. My 2023 was not very... remarkable, lets leave it at that, but you, with your videos, made it brighter and more fun every single thursday since I found your channel. Can't wait to see what you do in 2024. Merry christmas and Happy New Year, PS: I pair my F1X with my GP for camping and is just a match made in heaven.
What a gift from Mikkie! That's nice lads! Awesome you keep bees too, can we see that stuff maybe? Merry Christmas lads, have a great 2024 👍 Still got my DBK Bushcrafter knife giveaway going too. That is one sexy ass knife I don't mind saying guys!
Heya fellas! Thanks so much for the many many fantastic videos. I’ve learned a ton from listening you over the years. I hope that you both have an incredible new year…. the best yet! Keep making me laugh…..cheers!
BTW can I take the regular £5 chicken... oh you don't do them this year. OK, £10... OK then how much? Please pass the smelling salts. OK I'll take half a chicken.
What’s a good leather pouch for the PXL? Ive just bought one and need a sheath deserving of the PXL. Also if you put honey on something you’re cooking. Indirect heat, got to be gentle or you burn the honey. Last few minutes of cooking time
Pretty nice knife. Also with chicken its always better to be a little over cooked than under cooked for sure! Salmonella is definitely no joke.. lmao 🐤🐣🐥🐓 🤢🤢🤮🤮😵💀...🤷🏻♂️
Great video, I also have the 3G white one from the first 1000 with a serial number. It's very heavy, slippy, terrible thumbstuds and pocket clip but I love it. I don't understand why I do like it so much when there are so many things wrong with it.
Have you guys ever heard of TFK knives? Very similar to TRC. Tenev family knives. Id kive to see a review. There is very little about them on the internet. Amazing knives
Guys; PLEASE get some instruction on cooking over open fire. There should be NO FLAME. You should be cooking over a deep bed of hardwood coals, using softwoods to get things started ONLY. THE CHICKEN AND THE PINE ETC SHOULD NEVER BE IN THE SAME SPACE. Pop the meat over the meat ONLY when the you have achieved that lovely bed of white hot hardwood coals. If you don't you will continue to burn your food.
I recently heard someone on YT bitching about convex'd edges ain't no bueno for wood working. I disagreed. And got karenated. But i have to say on all my designated carving Knives they all have crisp v-edges... Maybe it doesn't matter as long as it's sharp and it is personal preference as most things are. Happy new yeah 🎉
Happy new year! They all have some slight advantages and disadvantages. Like convex glides over wood better but it's harder to make notches because of the convex being in the way of the edge. But in the end I think it's mostly what you're used to and where the user feels the most control indeed
One suggestion: You can have a scoring for each knife you test but in a more organized way. And each new knife you test, will then have a place in a table of the best knives. It can also be categorized based on attributes, best batonning knife, best feather sticking ... You should also generalize tests based on type of the knife; for example, a folding knife test should be different from a big survival knife, or a tactical one! Numbers are better for comparing and these tables will provide a good quantitative basis for comparing knives in an organized, more trusted way. If the scores are all aggregated in tables, then the value for money can be calculated and you can rank knives (and knife makers) based of their value for money index. The goal is to have something like the ultimate ranking in the TV show Top Gear, which let everyone having a good overall comparison. I am a data analyst and can help you making this happens if you wanted.
That would be an amazing idea and something really rare for the knife world. Imagine if someone like Metal complex did that, he would have the most comprehensive list there probably exist on the internet.
My old SOG folding knife has a true convex but I don't think they make them any more. When it comes to outdoor use as a camp knife, besides my SAK EDC knife, it's the Svord Peasant. I have several, also in 12C27 stainless steel, but the one I use has carbon steel and a pink handle. It's not a 'gentleman's' knife but an outdoor work horse.
Hello Marteen and Mikkie, hope y'all had a great Christmas and have a good New Year! So you have your own honey bees, well then you should know what the scariest bees are right? Well they'd be "boobees", (reference boobies...)! 😊 What's the difference between Santa Clause and Tiger Woods (pro golfer)? Santa stopped at 3 Ho's (Ho-Ho-Ho)! (Reference Tiger didn't and it cost him big!)!!!😊 Hope y'all got a giggle from those... Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 🙏😇👊

Very nice knife. Love the convex grind on Fallkniven. I got an A1 and NL2 Odin. Use them every week 🇳🇱 🇳🇿 🇸🇪 Happy New Year BTW Fellas and keep up the awesome work
Hey Maartin I really like the color of that pullover hoodie you’ve been wearing, it’s nice. That knife is very sweet too. Such a fashionable gent. Happy New Year guys.
Glad you picked it as #1. I bought one I think just over a year ago. I have several knives that you two recommended. The only one that I ordered that I haven’t been able to try is GSO 5.1 Magnacut. I ordered it last year in September and was told it would arrive in three months. Still waiting and nobody there replied to my email or answered the phone. I know they can be slow so I’m not worried, but it have been nice to get a reply back. I also heard that there has been some problems with Magnacut, so that is probably why.
Happy holidays and birthday! Be very careful when scraping fire steel on a folder. I have seen many lock ups break and cut people. Love you guys. Can't wait for the next video.
