That guy is an asset to a shop. He's very knowledgeable and energetic. I kinda hate people like that cause they effectively encourage you to spend more.
I wish he didn't say "most successful bike" several times. Sounds like somebody overly concerned with being noticed. Also 12-speed is irrelevant. It's the range that matters
What an awesome employee this guy is! Takes his time showing all the bikes. Passionate, informative, seems like he loves what he does. I’d be honored to have a shop like this close to home
Yes I HATE shopping for bikes, parts and accessories! Because I’m a girl I get treated like an idiot wherever I go! I found one phenomenal bike store so I shopped there after going to dozens of stores and getting treated so poorly! They where phenomenal, great service, nice, very knowledgeable and helped me pick out the perfect bike for me. If it wasn’t for Breakaway Cycles in Loveland Colorado I would have given up and never looked for another bike again after so many previous bad experiences at other shops! I now own a beautiful comfortable Specialized Womens Diverge Carbon ❤️
I moved to another state and found another Specialized dealer and called Bicycle Heaven and their service is phenomenal ❤️ I ended up helping my dad get a Specialized Sirrus and he loves it! ❤️ we’ve been having a blast exploring new places to ride and I’m upgrading my bike like a madwoman! 🥰 waiting for my GRX rear derailleur, have two Rollcage II water bottle holders, two Blackburn outpost cargo cages on the front fork, Solid clip phone stem mount to use my phone as GPS/computer, K-Edge go-big GoPro handlebar mount and chain saver, rear rack already in waiting for me at the shop, Blackburn tail light, SWAT road box, jiggly bell, and looking into a niterider light but haven’t decided on which one yet and going tubeless and a dropper post and fenders. After I get some bags and my bike all done I’ll start working on my dads bike but he’s not a hardcore adventurer like I am lol ❤️
I rented the '18 Enduro at Snowshoe this summer; and it was an incredible rig! Literally just hopped on and was comfortable jumping and railing berms straight outta the gate. It would be my choice, but I am extremely limited with experience on full-squishes. On another note, mountain bike prices have quickly gotten to the point where you can identify the haves and the have nots in the industry. It's truly unfortunate to say the least.
After 2+ years owning a 2017 Enduro with the obscenely fast command post, I've never hit my balls with the saddle, I have knocked the wind out myself on a very steep chute though. I now find all other posts slow.
I see a sparkler in your eyes when u see the Specialised enduro. Personally. I will choose Santa Cruz for the look, performance, warrenty, after sales, and the bearings. Really hard to beat that if you have the money for it.
For whatever reason, bigger brand name bikes don't usually call out to me, but that Specialized did look freakin sweet. I'd prob go for that or the Santa Cruz. Also, superb usage of Austin Powers music. Really turns the whole vid up a notch. 👍
Its always raining there in Vancouver....I should have seen your video three months back, as I was in Vancouver. Those MTB tires look great... You bought the Specialized....your eyes said it all.....
@@ruggedindsoup2135 you can get onto a Santa Cruz Nomad anywhere from $3599 all the way over $7000. Depends which model, frame, and how high end of components you go with.
It’s going to be 2020 Specialized. When I was looking at new bikes last year my top two choices were the Specialized Stumpjumper and the a couple of different Rocky Mountain model. Loving my Stumpjumper But would not have been disappointed riding a Rocky. The new Enduro’s are pretty sweet. The Ibis Ripmo is a another fav. Where I live I do more aggressive trail riding. 29er 2.6 work great in the PNW!
what alot of guys do is they take the big intial hit on price and then sell their old bikes so they arent paying as much. Van can sold 2 bikes and if I had to guess he's not paying more than 4 grand on the new one. Still alot of money tho
Nothing wrong with a $500-$750 bike. The MTB industry is nuts. Most people think you have to have a $5k+ bike to be able to ride. It's like saying that buying a $300 pair of Nike's are going to make you play basketball better than the guy wearing Chucks. It comes down to skill and not your checkbook.
@@XploreAz the industry is not nuts. manufacturers know that the bikes they make (especially boutique brands) are for a small group of avid cyclists. It costs alot of money to engineer, test and build these bikes. For the majority of people, bikes on the lower end of the scale will do just fine. it's the same on the road side. A beginner will recieve little to no benefit from a 10k bike vs a 700 dollar bike because they lack the skills to really take advantage of the technology. a skilled rider while still faster than most of would suffer on a lower end bike because they lack the precision and characteristics of the high end bikes.
@@jmard24 The point I'm trying to make is that nobody needs a $10,000 bike. The industry makes it seem like you have to spend several thousands of dollars on a bike in order to get out and compete or even have fun. That's not the case. It comes down to skill more than anything.
I am more a Santa Cruz, Yeti and Pivot guy, got a great deal on an sb150, I have also got a Canyon Spectral, great value for your money But it doesn't matter, most big bike brands offer great models and good performance. Pick the one you like most or you'd pick the best offer
I was riding with a rep from specialized at mtn creek bike park and he was kind enough to let me ride his enduro... it was pretty great if anybodys got any questions about it I'm keen to talk more!
This year I was in the market for a new bike... was looking for an enduro bike and tried out many bikes including the Santa Cruz Megatower, Devinci Spartan, Evil Wrekoning etc. I Ended up going with 2019 Devinci Troy Carbon 29er :) This bike rules :) Felt very similar to the Spartan but just a little more playful/poppy. I didn't get a chance to ride the new Evil Offering or the 2020 Specialized Enduro but those bikes look sick as well. What I will say at the end of the day any of these bikes would have made me happy, they are all incredible. It's hard to find a bad bike these days. So close your eyes and play 'eni mini mani mo' you can't go wrong lol
Santa cruz is the best made bike out of them all!! And they stand behind there products witch is huge! I mean crash really bad and crack the frame that's right they will send you a new one free! Cant beat that
Got a good deal on 2015 S-works carbon Candy red and Lime green frame. Excited to build. Like the X wing look. The new S5 frame look exactly like Santa Cruze
In my opinion, Devinci has the best R and D, and the only manufacturer to design AND fabricate aluminum bike frames and components in North America. In fact Devinci’s R&D offices are right next to their fabrication plant. That’s pretty awesome. They don’t have the trendy popularity or distribution of other brands but they are a great brand.....And of course the late Stevie Smith raced for them so I’ll always be fan.
I'm guessing the Specialized... Mainly because I haven't heard one bad review to date, although the way Santa Cruz stands behind their product is the way every manufacturer should be! Lifetime replacement on frames, pivot bearings and carbon rims I believe....
Giant was painting bikes like the red enduro you highlighted almost 30 yrs ago.. I bought my daughter a giant iguana back in 93’ that was a root beer and gold candy. The old style enduro looks like a SE Quadangle..
I have a megatower and an older v10, and the megatower even with it being a 160mm travel bike did way better in my opinion or the tech and bigger hits! the way the new lower vpp link santacruz has made has a very supple stroke for the first have of the travel and it ramps up like crazy as you go towards the end of the travel. if you change the flip switch to the high mode then it won't be as progressive. I would definately go with a megatower over an enduro
Get Santa Cruz because of the lifetime warranty on frames and bearings, and even their Santa Cruz bars. I own a Santa Cruz and you can’t go wrong with one
@@reviewgod2112 They do but from personal experience with Santa Cruz and a friends experience with Specialized, Santa Cruz is much easier to deal with and less likely to claim it's just cosmetic or make you jump through hoops. Also Sata Cruz gives you free pivot bearings for life as well.
Wish I lived in a place like this. Shops around here don’t really carry enduro bikes or longer travel bikes in general. It’s not that we don’t have to atmosphere or trails for it, there’s just no interest in biking in my area
If my local bike dealers knew anyway near that much about mtb's, i would stop bying online and abroad 😉 -I would pay that xtra to be helped on the right track👍
I think you should buy the Santa Cruz Megatower (so I can see the long term reviews) but believe you will buy the Specialized. Your video spent more time on it than any of the others. No matter which one you buy I will enjoy the videos that follow. Thanks and keep up the good work. I will miss the YT discussions, even though you kept your 2018 DH (for now ;-)).
I got in on this a little too late. It's been a month. But I haven't cheated. And if it was me I would get the Rocky Mountain Slayer. That is the coolest bike I've ever seen. I love it.
About to buy the Devinci Spartan, already have the Django and love it. Going to need an enduro bike though for my first trip out West in June! Hey maybe I'll see you on the trails when I'm there!
I’ve had my experiences with both brands both are very good but after purchasing my Santa Cruz 5010 a few years back I’m never switching brands again such a good bike
Love the slayer design, more than the SC ones that all look the same. But SC have a really good after sales program so you will always have a solution for frame issues. You have a tough decision to make.
