If you have the money to pay for the car you also might have the money to pay for the extras, if I had to buy one I would pay the money for the extra options and have a car that love how it looks rather than having one which don't like so much cause of the exterior/interior

I've seen a 650k GBP massive spec 488GTB in Hong Kong, Rosso F1 paint, full carbon exterior & interior, carbon shields, carbon wheel centre, triple racing stripe, Italian flag on the steering, tailor made interior, etc. Some insane buyer ordered it and refused the deposit, the car has been sitting in the Hong Kong dealer for several months...
LD #22 Not really . It's called economies of scale / supply and demand .You pay ridiculous amounts of money for limited production runs , which applies to any manufactured goods . If Ferrari et al made a million of these things they'd cost peanuts , simple as that .
Amazing video! Wouldn't an owner loose money when selling a similar speced car in 5 years time? How many people (apart from 'pigeon'(AHR) critics) will actually notice the difference between real carbon fiber and that applied by a top customizing outfit. Thats about 20grand saving right there. Just remove it in five years time when you sell.
For the 488, there were a few factory spec’d to the historic colour without the shield 🛡 true to the original 308gtb which the car is based on, super rare cars
Small bit of carbon on the door sills that you don't touch and don't see most of the time, that would otherwise come as a nice classy metal finish anyway - £5k Carbon racing seats that look cooler, shed weight and actually help the driving experience - £6k The seats are an absolute bargain tbh.
With a dark interior, the white paint would help with heat deflection and preserve your interior. Especially, if you live in a place like here in Texas where the summer days can be brutal.
I was playing along and my total would be around 250k. I don't understand the appeal of Carbon Fiber, I've personally helped build racecar parts from it (Bonnets and fenders) and frankly, it's glorified plastic. I don't understand, It's not expensive! You can literally buy a 50x50" sheet of the weave for like $25USD and 25oz of Resin for another $25USD. Mold your part out of modeling clay if you don't have something to copy, or like we did, use an existing fender and modify it so the mold reflects the modified shape, cover with layers of plastic wrap, apply mold release wax to the plastic wrapped fender, layer over fiberglass pieces and coat with resin to create a negative mold. Wait till it's dry then separate it from the fender and clean it up. Then from that master mold of the fender, you can then layer more plastic and release wax into it, then start applying resin soaked alternating layers of carbon weave, depending on your resin choice, leave to set for a couple hours, pull from the mold, and again, depending on resin choice, you can heat treat in the oven but generally not necessary. Voila, Carbon Fiber parts, Someone please explain to me where the cost comes in, because it really isn't that hard, nor time consuming. I suppose it's difficult for machines to do it, so mass production may be the problem, I could see panels being rejected for the weave being misaligned, I would. Still not worth my money.

One thing for sure, the makers of these super cars really take advantage of the fact that the buyers have a lot of disposable cash... Ferrari is taking advantage of your hard work to get where you are, and taking you, the buyer, for a "ride"... somewhat literally....
You got the exterior and interior "sill kick cover" wrong. the outer Part close to the ground is around 5 Grand, the "carbon fiber outer sillkick" saying "Ferrari" are around 1000 and are between the seat and the door. it is completely confusing, and i got it wrong when i looked at the pricelist too.
For the same price of that car you could get a decent 3 bed detached house in a nice location, 2 used volkswagen golf r's, a 2 week Florida holiday and money left over to kit out the house with furniture and gadgets.....
2500GBP for a tiny passenger display with about 6 pixels that already looks 10 years old would have to be the most ridiculous optional extra on this list.
I did indeed enjoy this Sam. Always nice to see what the 1% spec. I think some of those prices are insane, the door sills for example. Its more than some of the more intricate pieces by quote some distance! I think Ferrari are taking the micky a bit, but hey, I'm not their demographic market. Keep up the good work!
well you know all those extra costs for the plastic bits, I would prefer them in stainless,I am not into carbon plastics, each to their own I suppose.Does look nice in white - but matt? looks like it's undercoat

Why do you like the daytona seats... ya i guess white/black it makes sense but when people do cream/red or any other combo for that matter they look horrendous! The ‘goldbrake racing seats’ look sooo much better and almost no1 seems to spec them.
Just have a look at those body panel gaps at 2:05 between bonnet and front bumper assembly together with the door bottom corner at 7:36. It may of course be the camera angle, but something doesn't look quite right?!?!
Out of all that, I'd consider paying for the seats (depending on how they feel sitting in them) and the front and rear cameras. Everything else seems like a waste (ok maybe those badges on the sides).
Bonkers price for what is supposed to be the mid-range level Ferrari. Whats the point in having Triple-layer paint if its Matte? Triple-layer normally adds depth of shine..... The Mirrors are there to self-dim Sam yes.

Let me guess. Because it has options that bring the price up to 330k, or it has been tuned by a company to bring the price to 330k. It’s a Ferrari, not that crazy to be that much regardless of base price.
Yoshimurha - You will see from 8.54 there are two small ventilation grills in front of the bonnet (hood) which gives the appearance as if there is a panel gap in the early part of the video.
An informative video but 100k on options that the majority of people including Ferrari owners wouldn’t even realise - ridiculous!!...a standard 488 Spider turns heads without all those cosmetic options anyway!

Great video, but if that's how Ferrari does business, I'll stick with McLaren. I can only imagine if the entire car was carbon fiber. It would cost like 30 million us dollars to own one.
