THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT!!! Just wanted to post a pinned comment saying some stuff. I love this game, do I love CIG's way of handling things? Absolutely NOT! I believe if stability of the PU was a focus and not the single player S42 and we dropped feature creeping and made the base thing work with all the time and money people have pledged it would be great. I don't want anyone to think I'm literally telling you to play this game if you already have your mind set on why you wouldn't/don't like it. That being said, people do like this game, and I wanted to share why that is. I have only spent 65$ over the course of almost 10 years. I have had so many cool moments in this game! YES you can have fun on other games with friends or meet randoms on games like Arma, Rust, etc. However this game hits a bunch of little check boxes for me and others that other games don't. It is literally everything about the core experience that makes us come back. The immersion, the detail, the people/community, and hey sometimes even the bugs can be fun (other times not so much). I will still vouch for this GAME but I do want to make it clear I'm not vouching for the company. I think the original vision for it was great and it's been a long bumpy ride, but I keep up with it hoping one day it will reach that level, and if something else comes out like what I want in a game like this (no not starfield, that is entirely different type of game) but if something shows up ill probably play that. I'm just done with getting screwed by activition every year lol. Either way seriously thank you everyone. Positive comments or negative! Thank you for at least listening. More to come soon! Hopefully! having trouble writing the next script.

I ask my squad lead why we keep putting up with stupid random jank like that and coming back for more almost every night. He was like, "Because when it works, it's damn fun and there's nothing else like it, and no one else is as crazy as Chris Roberts to try." Great vid! Little tip- Most players including some "vets" don't understand how 30k protection works for cargo. It's not really explained and not intuitive in any way. If you are in a ship with cargo/drugs and the server 30k's, when you log back in you have to wait 15-30 min [sometimes longer]. DO NOT claim. After awhile the ship with its cargo will only be available at the ship owners home City. The one they choose after a wipe or first time logging in. Every other station/city the ship will show as "unknown" or "claim". The other tip for cargo is after you load a ship with cargo, fly directly to the closest station/city. Get close and ask for landing permission. You don't have to land but make sure the atc gives you a hanger. Now if you crash or 30k the game will remember your last landing area and your ship and cargo will [usually] be stored there.

@@danford6678 Usually, I'd have agreed on the restart in hab part at least. But I've invested some bounty Yuees into a Hull-A, and been living on board of that for a few sessions without any issues so far. I'm full out RP'ing the hauler life - civil clothing unless I need to have a suit on when leaving the ship, living out of ship storage and using the physical weapon rack, bedlogging wherever. 30k'd twice by now, went to HOME and pulled ship back out, everything's still there - cargo, if I had some at the time, and all the decorative items and food I've placed down inside (on counter, in fridge, ...) all as I left it, twice. Not even running into any pirates, because I don't care for the most profitable runs - I run everyday stuff like food and agricultural supplies. Whichever thing I find, wherever it takes me. Just because I'm immersing, just worrying about making up my maintenance and fuel costs. I've usually been playing bountyhunter for all the years before. This experience is a really nice change of gears and I'm surprised just how much I enjoy it, despite not "grinding" any money or having any other goals. I'm just in it for the experiences I make along the way, sometimes VoIPing with talkative randoms I run into, and just having incredibly chill vibes all around. It's been kinda therapeutic, honestly. The most profit I made was when I was hired to haul some salvage back to sell for one of these "randoms" while they kept salvaging.

Amazing video ! Loved it! I 100% agree with everything you said, this game is SO MUCH about playing with friends, going on adventures, getting side tracked in 20 different ways possible, laughing, crying and just having so much fun overall. It's the fact that you go on an adventure that you can't really predict, every evening is random and different, that's what I love about it and makes it unique compared to so many other games. Workarounds: Cruz lux: it seems to often be related to quantum somehow, get out of quantum and it will pop on the floor/hand whatever Unable to "select" armor: move an item in your inventory and/or toggle a filter on and off, it works after that

Once, about a year ago now, they had just released the Ninetails event where they had taken over platforms in Orison. We the players were sent in to find the commanders of each platform, get their data pads to turn off the air defenses to the platform, and then move on to the next, until we reached the final boss on a cargo ship docked at the final platform. Each server had like 30 players roaming around in groups, starting parties, talking to each other, communicating constantly, letting the other groups know what buildings they had checked and whether or not they had found the commanders yet (Lieutenants I think?). They were announcing codes in chat so people could open storage crates and loot weapons, ammo, and medical supplies. For hours we would just wander around these platforms, because there was a bug and the boss hadn't actually spawned, but we just kept searching for hours... 'just in case it wasn't actually a bug'. And despite that, we had fun. We constantly found enemies to fight, loot to be had, and we were exploring nonstop. One day, I was on a server that finally managed to reach the final platform... or rather, we were on the part of the mission where we needed to go land on the final platform. We had a problem though. People kept trying to fly over, and not only is there an entire fleet that shows up to try and stop you, but the whole platform is covered in anti-air defenses. I should note, Ships during this event do not respawn, if you run out of ships, you don't really have an alternative to get to the final platform. It's miles away floating over a gas giant. You are literally not capable of walking to it. I was communicating with everyone in chat, and we decided to take the few ships we had, and try a crash landing on the platform. The idea was simple. They were taking the biggest cargo ship in the game, the Hercules, filling it up with people, and they were going to go, hit the platform, and everyone would jump off as quickly as they could before the Hercules got shot down. A few other people loaded up in other ships, specifically Pisces, the starter ships. I myself got into the heavy fighter... I forget the name of it, but it's the ship with the biggest gun in the game on it (I mean, other than the capitol mounted guns). We all took off at the same time, and headed toward the platform. Once we hit the enemy fleet, it kinda turned into chaos, and I just did what I could to shoot down all the Cutlass Blacks that were swarming the other ships, trying to let them get in and land. I even managed to kill the Hammerhead that was with the pirate fleet. Once I did, there were no more enemy ships in the sky, and I had no idea where anyone else had gone. So I flew down and landed, managing to get out of my ship literally seconds before the turrets on the station destroyed it. I saw a Hercules coming in, and it opened its doors... but nobody got off. Apparently nobody got the memo that the idea was to jump off when it hit the ground, and so it landed, nobody got off, and it was taking so much fire, that it took off again after a few seconds, and flew off, but got destroyed anyway. This was the point where I asked in chat who else was on the platform. I found out that the answer was... literally nobody. I was the only person on the entire server, who had managed to make it to the platform. I went through on my own, and killed all the remaining bosses to unlock the cargo ship. I fought my way through all the heavy guards, and ended up on the deck of the cargo ship, where I was faced wit like, 30 Ai enemies all guarding the entrance to the ship. Somehow, I managed to fight my way past them all, alone, and got into the inside of the ship, where I went through a maze of cargo containers, trying to find my way to the final boss. The problem was, this game, is not optimized at all. It is a very, very difficult game to run, especially if you don't have a top of the line PC. I have anything but, and there was A LOT of particle effects inside the ship, namely a lot of fog and gas. You move from one section to the next, where there are openings in the cargo containers with enemies dotted around. Keep in mind, in this game, you can die in less than a second if an Ai actually decides to shoot at you (They got nerfed in recent patches, which is good, you can actually get shot at and not die instantly now, but you did back then). At this point, the entire server was cheering me on. And yet, after 20 minutes of trying to find my way through the ship, I got shot in the back by an enemy I never heard, and didn't even know was there, and died. I was the only person left who could finish the mission, and even though the entire server was chanting my name and cheering me on, I failed. And I failed all because my computer couldn't handle the game, and I was trying to maneuver through a dark, foggy maze at 5-15 fps. And you know what? I have never in my life, had more fun in a game than I did during that afternoon of playing. Even though in the end, I lost, and I failed. These days, the game's a bit harder to play. I can't really play more than 30 minutes without getting a 30k. So I've kinda stepped back from it for a while. But you better bet I'll be coming back for more in the future.

Love the sentiment in this video, it really does describe why SC is absolutely amazing despite being absolutely broken (some times)! Only comment... please don't buy credits from shady online sites. It just incentivates people who abuse exploits in game, and leads to wipes happening more often, which leads to you needing to buy another pack of credits. And none of it goes to the devs or helps the game get better.

Yeah some one told me that's how they do it in another comment and I didnt know that's how it worked but appreciate the support and the advice I've only done it the one time and it was for the 890J but yes we should not be supporting that however I do get when people don't have 1000usd for a ship so I see how people see it and just do it like I did

£1000 package absolutely is a lot even if you are into dcs. In star citizen you can pay that much for an admittedly large ship with little functionality, where as in dcs you pay $80 for a full fidelity module true to life where every single switch and display can be interacted with. And of course star citizen isn’t exactly realistic, but you can’t interact with the spacecraft in nearly as much detail. Half the time for most planes they’re also on pretty good discounts too. I could buy every map and every plane I want for that much in dcs on a sale easily, or I can get a singular ship that isn’t even in the damn game yet in star citizen, and I can’t even but it until i spend enough in he first place

I purchased a Javelin last year... $2,700 on top of the 5K I already put into the game. Even if the game never is "released", to me I've already got my money's worth. It's a blast when the game is working and is far and beyond my wildest dreams as a kid growing up hoping to do half of the things this game does. Thank you, Chris Roberts!

Yup, checks out. Imo this game thing is best played in bursts with several months long breaks inbetween, because there's a point where the jank and the bugs are too much and you need some time to forget about all the negative experiences.

I've also seen videos where the whole experience works with few bug issues. What seems to be consistent in all of these videos is that people are having a blast. The term "fucking around for fun" needs to come back in gaming. In Elite i amassed a shit ton of money but decided i had more fun smuggling 1-2 tonne packages with a MkII Eagle that i had pimped out to hell and back for hopping from station to station taking one little job after another.

17:16 you absolutely hit the nail on the fucking head here. This is what some people on Spectrum and the like forget about SC sometimes. The best part about it is the freedom it gives you as (at times) a totally blank canvas. If the game wasn't so buggy I feel like a lot more people would notice that. Its hard to notice the emergent gameplay and stories when every hour you desync or crash or explode from a bug or clip into the planet. I'm just hoping CIG can smooth out the performance of the game even as they add more features, we'll see.

In order for this conceptual game to save gaming, it has to *be* a game first. Not just a series of strung together tech demos offering slivers of the promised whole. I hope the devs succeed and deliver that promised vision, but until then it's just an idea in need of form. An aspiration. But not a game. Not yet.

When Star Citizen is working, it's absolutely amazing. The bugs persist because they are more worried about getting the game finished...getting the content done, and then do the bug fixing after that. Bugs will pop up every time they do an update, so they can only work on the most egregious ones that prevent you from playing. Squadron 42 is taking up a lot of development resources. And that...squadron 42, is going to be absolutely amazing. From what I have seen, it looks to be Star Citizen meets Mass Effect/Red Dead Redemption 2. Highly detailed, and amazing.
