My genuine thoughts on why TNF is so bad on Amazon. NFL knows (or at least suspects) the viewership numbers are very VERY bad. But they agreed to this contract and so they have to give Amazon games to air. Nobody said they have to be good games, however.

The ending when Jeff comes back in furious had me laughing for 30 minutes this was great 😂. I miss having Thursday Night Football on Fox it was so much better.

It's hilarious how nothing's really changed, and the Thursday Night Football games continue to be hot dog shit. I mean, considering how most people don't have Amazon Prime, it's not a shock that they dump all the trash games (LV vs. LAC, WASH vs. CHI, ETC) to them. Also, another gem as always, Tom. :) Keep on channeling that sweet script writer chaos energy.

I feel like "We'll bring in the mayo man to spice things up" is not getting the appreciation it deserves. Such a good line.

My problem with Thursday football is not the matchups, it’s the fact that teams are playing with only 3 days rest. It show the NFL’s basic contempt for player’s health.

It's very hard to schedule good games well before the season even starts.

The way you truly accurately depict all walks of life when it comes to football and those various reactions of each group of people is incredible and amazing

It sucks because NFL Prioritizes Bigger markets and ratings over actual good matchups. Also some of the teams are just worse than expected.

İ feel like before the season the next three games looked promising. Some never looked that way like this week's game

So, I played in HS and then for years in the military (not even full contact) and playing 4 days after the last game...that's tricky. I know these guys are elite athletes but still. In HS we played on Friday night, watched film on Sunday night, practiced in pads Monday but no one could really move well and contact hurt (we were just trying to implement the next game plan), Tuesday was a regular practice but with lots of drills trying to shake out the kinks, and then Wednesday, you actually felt like you could go through practice at full speed. Thursday was a walk through in shorts and Friday was game day again....so, as teenagers with a ton of growth hormone and testosterone naturally, it was 5 days before we weren't "stove up" and sluggish.

Chicago, New York and LA are always going to be on Prime Time - the greed has to account for viewers & those 3 are the biggest markets. But to be fair, going into the season & when writing up the schedule, the NFL had every reason to believe the 2 New York teams were going to be watchable & draw viewers - no one saw what's happened coming. The problem is their unwillingness to opt out of trashy content - despite having the Flex scheduling mechanism in play.

Just had to be reminded out of all the streaming services to pay for I picked prime for football.

It's funny because AMAZON is the one that calculated the schedule this year. So they did this to themselves. I was kinda waiting for that punchline that never came. Like I get that he was "happy" for the schedule but literally anyone knew that none of those games would be competitive or even entertaining at all so the punchline was kinda lost in there. I wonder if Al Michaels regrets going to TNF but at the same time, he's about as good as the games are so it seems appropriate.

I forgot it was Thursday and went to check who was playing on Amazon prime, switched back to Home Alone, which I've already watched 17 times this year.

Next week's TNF game is Ravens vs Bengals. Should actually be a great game, let alone watchable
