Why Tikal the Echidna is the GREATEST Female Sonic Character 

Sega needs to bring Tikal back in the Sonic Franchise that she seriously deserves better

I would love if instead of Tikal and Chaos instead of leaving after the end of Sonic Adventure, that they instead reside on Angel Island somewhere and Chaos went back to protecting the Master Emerald. This time however it would be alongside Knuckles and that's why in later games, like Sonic Heroes and further, Knuckles can leave to help Sonic and friends save the world. He wouldn't have to worry about the Master Emerald being stolen or damaged because Chaos would be there protecting it if he was needed elsewhere. As for Tikal, maybe she could teach Knuckles new abilities using the Master Emerald's power or about the past of the Knuckles Clan. Just some food for thought.

Amazing video! Lot of interesting stuff from the comics that I didnt know. I always loved Tikal, she is such a great character. Rouge is my favorite female but Tikal is probably Top 3. Some SA1 modder has expressed interest in adding a story for Tikal (and Eggman), with their own levels and cutscenes. I hope it becomes a reality someday!

Tikal is so underrated.

I've always loved Tikal, such a delicate and wonderful character. She deserved more recognition and perhaps we will see her in the Knuckles Paramount series that could dive into the Echidnas' ancient history? Tikal + Knuckles could be siblings.

Finally. Another Tikal lover. I thought we were a rare specimen. Also, I don't really see it being that infeasible for Sega to bring her back as they ended up doing the same with Shadow. The problem is I don't think Sega sees her as marketable enough.

In Sonic Adventure DX, when you explore the ancient Knuckles' tribal home, and interact with some of the clan's npcs, one of them refers to Pachacamac as his "Father"(at least in the English version as far as I can tell), which implies that Tikal had a Brother, and if her brother was also one of the few survivers of the great disaster caused by Chaos, then it's possible that Knuckles may be a direct descendant of Tikal's Brother, which would mean that Tikal is Knuckles Great(times several dozen) Grand-Aunt, meaning he is her Nephew, at least theoretically.

Ngl Tikal is prolly the best female character, imho.

It's sad that she isn't seen that much, her design already makes her stand out in a great way! Hopefully one day there will be another chance where she could be brought back for something. I'm curious to see if they'll reference Tikal in the next sonic movie, considering how the echidna family story is brought up a lot in the second movie.

Why wasn’t Tikal on Sonic Forces despite Chaos’ appearance?

In my opinion she should be a guide for knuckles (whilst light gaia*chip* being sonic's)

All this time I've been pronouncing her father's name as "pack-hack-a-mack". Anyway, Tikal was a huge inspiration to me as a little girl, and I would always try to act and speak like she did.

The influence of Megaman X4 and Ocarina of Time on SA1 is pretty clear from Tikal. You forgot to mention that. That doesn’t even begin to cover the Chinese and Buddhist mythology influences she is partially based on.

SEGA were not only influenced by Super Mario 64 for the hub worlds as well as to a lesser extent the main gameplay, they were just as much, if not moreso influenced by Megaman X4 for the more serious story and multiple character storylines/perspectives.
