I applaud TIME for acknowledging positivity for once. Yes Taylor’s tour/movie united many, but she also brought awareness of importance to register to vote, she gave millions to food banks across the US, donated to several charities for children and illnesses, broke records in music that hadn’t been done in decades, boosted local economies in every city she went to. She deserves this recognition

Normally im not really about celebrity worship but I think its good time choose her, aside from her amazing career etc i think she embodies great qualities that i think should be recognized. I 100% agree with Taylor Swift being Person of the Year. She is able to move literally millions of people (young and not so young) to register to vote and exercise that privilege at the ballot box. Some political pundits keep referencing the influence he has over crowds of people who will all vote for him and ascend to the presidency again in ‘24. Not if Taylor Swift gets behind defending the rights of women, the right to vote unimpeded by Trump trolls, particularly as it relates to minorities and people of color. I totally get this. I don't think Taylor is a very good singer. But she is a fantastic songwriter and performer. PLUS, she has made an impact in politics, humanism, and culture. People bond together, despite differences. And every time she performs or even visits a community, the gross GDP goes up due to a massive influx of tourism dollars. She deserves this.

She's actually a better singer than you think. LIsten to the original versions of the "RED" and "1989" albums; she has a pretty impressive singing range.

I agree with you.....she only won because she is "popular" and most of the 10-16 year olds that go to her concerts either never heard of TIME magazine or they don't care about TIME magazine.

It's great that she's charitable, which is the best anyone can be, to have a beautiful heart, however, if she were physically ugly, how many people would recognize her inner beauty? So, she's no more special than any other good person, but people are seduced by her looks and energy, which draw way more people in, and i think life is weird in that way.
