Why Titanfall Fans Hate Apex

its simple, Apex is the trend chasing diet coke version of titanfall.

Most of us don't _hate_ Apex per se, it's just frustrating that one of the best shooter games, gameplay wise and lore wise, was completely abandoned by the devs, had it's lore and universe gutted, and was basically unplayable due to neglect for the past few years... ...because a battle royale made more money.

I still can’t wrap my head fully around why people look at all the movement tricks and genuine badassery of Titanfall and go “naw, I’d rather play a version of this that’s dumbed down where I have to scavenge for guns”

i’d love to see TF|3 but i’m kinda worried about how EA will end up handling it.

One of the other lore-related things that really annoys me is how everybody seems to know everybody. Mirage's mom made the Holo suit, and he's related to the guys from frontier defense, and his brothers died in the war, and Ash made Pathfinder, and Horizon made the time travel device, and Bangalore and Newcastle were going to be pilots, and Viper's daughter, Valkyrie is there, who turned his Titan into a suit with help from Rampart, and Blisk made the Apex Games, and Hammond made Revenant, and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting, but it just seems like they're trying to make as many callbacks as possible, while also making everyone have history with someone else. that's like saying everyone in the NBA were friends with each other in second grade, and all just so happened to be professionals at the same sport, at the same time, on the same team. The legends are essentially just athletes, but they're off reassembling robot people with parts from other dimensions, or trying to break into some company to kill another robot. I realize I'm drifting away from Titanfall lore here, but Respawn is basically doing, "Remember this? Remember them?" and it's annoying...

The worst Part is that Titan Fall 2 was the most Solid Shooter we have had for years. A game like titanfall is exactly what we needed and still need in gaming. The first one fumbled by not having any story and being exclusive. Most people where still mad about that by the time 2 came out, despite 2 having taken and applied 100% of the critisizm. It was a badass game. I remember playing the Titanfall beta and i will never forget calling down my titan for the very first time and the chills it gave me.

I like both but seeing them constantly undermine Titanfall hurts. Above all else Pilots should be held to a high regard, Ash should not be this mid.

That hacker that destroyed Titanfall depresses me... I can't understand how someone can hate a game like this.

the worst thing I've ever seen is that Bangalore survived a punch from a Pilot THAT IS STRAIGHT BULL. We know for a fact, and not from just in game mechanics, that Pilots have enough augmented strength to kill with a punch if they wanted to. And Bangalore walked away from that punch like it was nothing

Little correction on the Sabotage part: Respawn itself insisted on the releases Date and EA actually tried to talk them out of it but respawn don`t listend

There hasnt been a single game that injects pure fast paced movement shooter goodness directly into your frontal lobe since titanfall. No, superglides are not the same

I still can't get over the fact that the reaper in the Kill Code 3 video literally punches one of the Legends in the face full force and the guy just shakes his head and sits up like he slipped and bumped his head on a table.

People are playing TF2 like it's Apex and bruh, dealing with people using A-Wall and sitting in buildings is making me sad. ITS A MOVEMENT SHOOTER 😭

Most of the hate isnt directed against Apex. Lots of Titanfall players couldnt give two shits about a reaper in an Apex cinematic or a smart pistol not locking on(he was using a Titanfall 1 smart pistol btw, an older model that does have a non-lockon mode). They mostly hate how Respawn treated Titanfall 1 and 2, completely abandoning them in an unplayable state. And then acting like they dont exist except for some nostalgia bait in Apex to get us to buy a skin.

Titanfall fans hate apex fans because imagine if the doctors stopped performing surgery on your child because someone else just walked in with a twisted ankle.

And also let's not forget when some people in a desperate try to get Respawn's attention to the Titanfall 2 DDOS problem, ended up hacking Apex. And Respawn was like: "Lol what a weird hack XD. You can play Apex again everyone" I don't hate Apex. I hate Respawn lack of care to the franchise that lead to Apex. Also how tf Titanfall 2 got a dub in my language and Apex existing for years no? wth

if being a half-life fan has taught me anything, it's expect nothing and and hope. i really hope TF|3 happens but i'm not expecting much on the 27th. would love to be proven wrong about this

You also neglected to mention that for a while, Titanfall 2 was also unplayable without the Northstar client and Respawn just stood by for months while focusing on Apex. Which also spurred a bit of a controversy when TF|2 fans hacked Apex servers for a day or two to draw attention to the issue.

I find it ironic that it takes multiple legends to take down the reaper when I can do it in like less than 10 seconds all by my lonesome as a pilot in TF2 and they want to pretend pilots wouldn’t wipe the floor with the legends.

It's more baffling because Bangalore was a grunt. The storm troopers of Titanfall. Although she was elite, the pilot wouldn't have just let her counter him.

A reaper is meant to be like a mini titan. A grunt seeing a reaper would either run or give up, AS IF a group of kids with rough childhoods could kill or beat a reaper.

Ok but it still took 6 legends over 2 minutes to take it down. One pilot with no AT can do it in under a minute under similar battle conditions.

People want a serious deep and dark story, but instead they get colorful clowns that kind of look like something you flush down the toilet.

My issue is with Apex compared to Titanfall is the movement. The feel of aiming and the way sliding works is recognizable but you're so much slower it just feels so neutered when you know what movement can be in the engine. Like why do I have to be stuck in the mud, walking around like a mortal man when I should be wallrunning at 100 mph and barely touching the ground. Theres probably a balance explanation for this but that doesn't really matter to me, if the game needs to be less fun to work then I'm not interested.

The writers for apex aren't the ones who wrote titanfall, because of this the titanfall community will never accept apex or its lore.

If this whole buildup is just cooper being added to apex and not TF|3 I will commit a hate crime

It’s because Apex is a lesser version of Titanfall in every single way. Everything from the titans to the movement system to the gameplay that made Titanfall great is completely gone or reduced to the point of being unnoticeable. Apex is a soulless cash grab of a game with a nothingburger story and COD like gameplay all packed into a boring arena shooter. And what’s worse is instead of just letting apex be it’s own thing they insist on doing all these silly callbacks and references to draw in or pander to the Titanfall crowd but the issue is I want Titanfall not a mediocre arena shooter with a bunch of references to Titanfall.

As an Apex Fan, I personally really love Titanfall. I have zero issues with TF fans too. I’ve been unlucky enough to have met nothing but toxic players when playing the game but it’s more of the “Suck it noob,” try hard sort of toxic and not the “I hate Apex,” toxic.

Because it is the reason why there's no Titanfall 3 Fuckin battle royals are a plague.

Here's my guess: They are going to release Titanfall 3 as... "Apex Legends 2: Titanfall 3". For kicker, they are going to force updates so all Titanfall become subtitle.

I mean, it's pretty simple. The reason we didn't get more support for titanfall 2 was because they were busy working on Apex. The reason we didn't get a titanfall 3 till maybe now is because of apex.

My toxic trait is becoming a fan of franchises that drag my respect through the mud (halo, Destiny, titanfall)

Honestly for me it really just came down to the movement. Titanfall 2 has some of my favorite movement mechanics in any game. When apex came out I was excited to see maybe a new and further developed form of that same movement system. Instead I felt slow and clunky while playing and even reintroduced mechanics like the grappling hook felt weak compared to what they once were

Apex is like the devs OC in the titanfall universe. If you really follow the lore, yes, pilots die a lot during a conflict, but they don't die to grunts like Bangalore and New Castle. It's implied they followed pilot training, but they obviously failed since they were grunts💀

Titanfall 2 is a highly underrated gem. If they were to bother to give a damn about Titanfall 3, they'd have an instant hit, given how everyone I speak to on the matter says "Titanfall 3 yes, Apex Legends no". Hell, a couple friends and I still hop into Frontier Defense from time to time. I'd personally like a TF3 as I never got into the MP of the second, like I did with the first. Still a blast though. And gahd dayum, that campaign was amazing. Short, but oh so sweet/tender.

i played Apex first and when i heard Titanfall 2 5 dollars sale back in 2020, i bought it and the movement blew my mind away. The movement is so quick and crazy but the gun is made to be more accurate to compensate the movement so you can kill enemies why flying like spiderman. after that i just cannot came back to Apex knowing that the movement is just mid and Mozambique and CAR is deadly in Titanfall 2, unlike in Apex. And even if i played Apex again the only character I play is Pathfinder because of grappling hook. Oh, and where's my Legion titan in Apex? Nowhere? I mean who doesn't love a giant robot with flappy ass and a giant minigun?

As someone who's never played a TF game, seeing how strong the TF fanbase and how RSPN is fixing TF2 makes me hope that the fanbase get a new game because I'm a huge fan of the Mirror's Edge franchise and DICE has basically given up on it and its died which is sad because it's my favourite game, so it's nice to see another franchise get fixes and a new game hopefully greenlit in the future because It makes the players happy!

Why does EA not want to make history? It's like they don't see the potential Financial boom that's going to happen when they just ANNOUNCE the development of the next game

The thing about Titanfall 3 being a thing is I highly doubt Respawn can manage both Apex and TF3 without something bad happening

In short: apex gets the unearned spotlight and Respawn/EA have the audacity to use titanfall to bring clout to apex ( which imo we wont get a titanfall 3 and all of this is some hype to put more content on apex )

Btw EA wanted Titanfall 3, respawn worked on it for 10 months then decided to make it a battle royal without EA's permission. This was confirmed by the head developer of the time (it's some Arabic name I can't remember) as a Titanfall fan this is super sad.

Apex was going to be what the community and devs wanted, but EA made it for what was trendy at the time. I just imagine that in a different timeline EA released TF|2 at a good time and it just ruled the gaming industry and became the “main trend” game

I would not surprised if all these so called teasers for TF2/TF3 is leading up to a conduit reveal trailer. I mean it was leaked that conduits backstory is part of TF lore

No wall running or double jump and only getting to use grappling hook every 20 or 30 seconds or whatever sucks but i play apex more now because my friends play it but what i really want is a multiplayer Titanfall campaign more than anything.

I'm burnt out on most PVP games these days, but Titanfall 2 is just so beautiful in motion that it's still great to play. There's always something going on

Titanfall fans dislike Apex because originally the game was going to be the Titanfall 3 we all want but then it turned into a Titanfall battle royale and then.. a Hero shooter battle royale staring the Legends I think Titanfall fans also dislike Apex (and Respawn) become Respawn was planning on making a single player Titanfall spinoff but they cancelled it upon the failure of Apex Season 15 so they had to focus all their efforts on fixing Apex with Season 16

i dont care if it has a battle pass, i don't care if it has a battle royale mode, I don't care if it has predatory monetization. just give us good movement and giant robots in a simple arena style shooter and the people will be happy

In lore, only a pilot, has the skills, wits, experience, and on the feet thinking, to survive if not kill, another pilot

I come from the future, and fairs to say that I feel as dead as apex lore. Considering that nothing happened, but that’s okay. The community will always have that titanfall spirit no matter what. And it’s us that’ll revive the universe

So, some points of the apex lore can be explained, like how the IMC went straight for quantity over quality, so the pilots you see taken down could be rookie Inc pilots, and as for the release date of tf2, it was actually decided by respawn because they were confident that it could compete on a AAA level

I dunno, maybe gridiron pilots are built different but a lot of those mercs you fight in the TF|2 campaign were pushovers, and presumably the guy in the banaglore intros is a militia pilot. Skill levels seem to vary, and bangalore herself was partially trained to be one someday. The pilot in the trailer seems to me like a guy who got some certifications but has an officer desk job who got way too overconfident, and got double teamed. In regards to the rumors, i think they're just finally cleaning up titanfall 2 and going to release a titanfall adjacent character trailer on the 27th/28th, if we're lucky it will have a remastered titanfall 1 reveal or a titanfall 2 expansion, but likely not a new game.

The day I first played apex and used pathfinder for his grappling hook, was also the day I put down the game forever. The guns feel too different, the movement is so slow and I can’t even grapple slingshot. It’s like neutered titanfall to me.

A battle royale is the polar opposite to Titanfall. A trend in gaming often used to maximize profit with weak story, compared to a unique fast paced FPS with a strong story.
