Why Tony Curtis was Forced to Marry Marilyn Monroe? 

Bernie Schwartz AKA Tony Curtis badmouthed Marilyn for for decades. His co-star in SLIH Jack Lemmon always spoke kindly and sympathetically of Marilyn. Even Barbara Stanwyck who was a total professional had nothing but good things to say. Tony was a schmuck.

At the time of this movie, Marilyn was plumpish for the entire film wearing clothes to camouflage he weight. Why the beach coat in the beachy scene? That the dress she wore on the yacht and her little fur were designed specifically to hide her pregnancy. If she had gotten pregnant during filming she would not have had time to gain so much weight. The next time you watch notice the design of her clothes. I don't question that she had an affair with Tony; but, don't think this story is accurate.

What a convoluted story. Marilyn was pregnant before the making of the movie and meeting Curtis. As for Arthur Miller not be up to the task, he fathered four children including two ( a daughter and son) with his 3rd wife and last wife Inge Morath. The daughter with Morath is Rebecca Miller who happens to be married to Daniel Day-Lewis.

I never really liked Tony Curtis.

Tony Curtis as full of it. Whether him and Marilyn knew each other early on is open for debate. However, the idea that they had an affair while making Some Like It Hot is rubbish. Marilyn was clearly already pregnant during the making of the film. Then there is the documented facts the neither Marilyn or Tony got along during filming. Tony became increasingly annoyed and hostile towards her for her lateness to the set. Marilyn in turn become more difficult and hostile towards him. In her last interview she speaks of the kissing her being like kissing Hitler comment and refers to Tony Curtis as "some actor." Marilyn very rarely went for young handsome men. Tony Curtis spoke negatively about Marilyn for the first few decades after her death. It wasn't until his later years that he suddenly switched everything up saying he loved Marilyn and talking about their supposed involvement. It was because MM's status as a legend and icon continued to grow rather than fading that Curtis then wanted to be associated with her for the attention it brought him.

This is total rubbish. MM was in a hot and heavy affair with Yves Montand after she had married Miller? I read Curtis's biography and he never said any of this? He hated working with her. Well, this explains a lot about the infamous scene in SLIH on the Yacht for Champagne and Pheasant. If they hadn't had "something" for one another, they couldn't have made that scene work the way it did. And then there was the scene where the 'Boys" were leaving, and Marilyn came in for the bourbon and couldn't remember her one line. Her mind was somewhere else of course. Poor girl. Throughout her life she had two Miscarriages & an ectoplc pregnancy. She wanted to have Arthur Miller's baby, but that never came to fruition. There was also a strong rumour when she played alongside Yves Montand in Let's Make Love in 1960 he was totally enamoured with Marilyn & they had an onset affair which led to her becoming pregnant. She had a miscarriage & lost that baby. So it could have been, one to Tony Curtis, one to Yves Montand, & the last miscarriage could have been with her husband Arthur Miller. She said in a statement to the press all I want is to have lot's of babies with my husband Arthur. So many books have been written and movies made about Marilyn Monroe, and this is the first time I have heard this nonsense of this supposed love affair or love child. Tony Curtis was a small man, jealous and mean. Even in his later years he just made up stories to try to remain relevant. As much as he hated it none of the talk shows wanted to talk about him but about her, so he made up stories and one more elaborate than the next so he could get booked and peddle whatever he was selling at the time.
