Hi, I am an apprentice and I found this video useful and interesting. I would look forward to seeing more videos on the maintenance side of electrical. Thanks!
One of the first guys I’ve watched who actually explains his troubleshooting and why. Very helpful for someone seeing if joining into a electrician trade/career.
What a great look into the life of an electrician. The trades are definitely under appreciated in our society. Thanks for the work you do. If you get a chance, we’d be honored if you swung by to check out our latest upload too! Either way, keep on smiling and creating!!
I always enjoy watching fellow ⚡️’s work. I always seem to pickup little golden nuggets from everyone’s experiences. The only thing I would have done differently is use a romex water tight fitting on the ceiling fan. But non the less great job man 👍
I have a few problems with this, and I’m sorry to be this guy because I really enjoy watching you. For all the new apprentice Electricians, First you should never be in an energized exposed buss panel without the proper PPE or insulated tools. We have all done it, but should protect yourself. People watching may think it’s safe to do because your doing it. Second I never recommend loading everything up on one phase or another, even tho it’s lower load (amperage) than the breaker, your putting more stress on an already unstable power source (distribution transformer) without knowing the cause or issue with it. Maybe just keeping the refrigerator running or a few outlets until the power company comes to fix it. But never just putting everything on the other phase, the system is already imbalanced. I realize it’s only temporary, and the main breaker can handle it, and probably nothing would happen. Just not a great idea. I can tell you know how to troubleshoot, I commend your knowledge sir. I’m sorry to be this guy, and I’m sure there’s a thousand reasons why you say it’s ok. But it’s just not good practices. I would call the power company tell them the problem. I would leave the necessary things on the B phase, refrigerator etc, and shed as much load as possible until the unstable transformer is repaired. Just my humble opinion. Cheers from Fresno Ca. IBEW is a great start, I got a few buddies who went that way. Also check out IEC. Independent Electrical Contractors. That’s the way I went which was non-union. But both have there advantages. If you are on FB/IG look me up @ramelectricllc
For those watertight boxes you fitted for the fans i would of used liquidtight fittings for the wires going into the jbox, those clamp style ones are for indoor use.

I really think this is a great format -- well, not sure about the background music, but -- that is really different that other electrician content on YT and could become very popular. Moves from situation to situation at a nice clip, shares some notes about diagnosis, then, hopefully, resolution and "on to the next one." It's YT perfect.
That should have been carflexed or at least uf with uf connectors. And you definitely shouldn't use 2 different ocd for one feed without the handles being tied together. Not even temporarily. It's your job as a electrician to safe guard for the customer.

I want to get into this trade, I’ve been trying to apply for apprenticeships on indeed. It’s so hard, I’ve applied for so many. A lot of them want experience, which I don’t understand because it’s an apprentice/entry level role? Also how much do electricians actually make? I feel like half the paycheck will be spent on tools or parts needed. How do we end up saving money?
the solution should be to make a chart of electrical loads, and then request the repair of the energy meter or breaker... a two-phase installation but totally done without technical data, there are no balanced loads. I am not saying this because of the author of the video, I am saying this because of the installations that are seen in the video.
Serious question... with the fountain issue at the end... you figured out that it had power so you thought it could be the fountain motor... if they decided to replace the motor themself and not use you... would you have charged them for coming out to inspect the situation and telling them what you found?? Or do electricians typically do that for free and only charge when they fix something?

My Brother, you are working unsafe. You do not have on no safety glasses, face shield, glove, and fire resistant clothing. If there is electrical ark the temperature is going to be 35,000 degrees.
Maybe the customer was using a jigsaw or some other power tool in the garage that needs a 20 amp circuit so it would trip the circuit that's installed. Of course the lights work but definitely need to let customer know what tools are ok to run there or install a 20 amp circuit for that garage space
It can be, if you let it. But i work for myself as a electrical contractor and only take on jobs that I will potentially enjoy. I know the clientele that I enjoy working for and market towards them. I have walked away from projects simply because of the interaction between myself and clients. I don’t like to stress no matter how much money is attached to it.
