Travertine has its own unique and timeless look making them perfect for kitchen floors, feature walls or pool surrounds. There is so much to love about travertine, so keep watching to find out more.
Has any one ever installed 3cm thick travertine pavers on their interior stairs steps? I think the look would be awesome. I am just not sure if I have to reinforced the stair framing in order to handle the extra weight? For the risers, I plan on using matching travertine tiles. The total weight of all the material, not including thin set or grout, is just over 800lbs. But that will be distributed over entire stair case.
Actually it’s awful. We made a huge mistake in our shower with it. Can’t use any semi harsh chemicals to remove mold. It’s nearly impossible to clean. I regret it.
Even with sealing it started growing mold that quickly? We are considering installing travertine on our shower walls (not a steam shower). And I keep reading extreme love it or hate it...and nothing inbetween!
I installed travertine on two of my bathroom showers and sealed them once over 10 years ago. Still going strong. Never had any issues with mold. When is time to clean the walls, I just use common spray cleaners for showers. Cleans up great. I live in phx az, since its basically desert, we don't have mold problems anyway.
