In this video, I explain the usual procedures for engine failure and emergency landings. As a private pilot, I have trained for this. I can't comment on what Trevor Jacob did, but I can explain what we are trained for and what most pilots would do if they didn't have a parachute (which is usually the case). I provide you with the information on what would usually happen so you can make your own mind up on the legitimacy of Trevor's explanation of events and why he jumped.

I would like to add, emergency landing, it me be much better when landing in a field to retract the undercarriage if possible, better to slide to a stop then risk the wheels digging into the ground and cart-wheeling

It was all staged. Multiple GoPros. Had his parachute on before. Didn't even make an effort to try to find a place to touch down. It has stinky written all over it. Great video! Keep up the great work! 👍🏻

Obviously Trevor Jacob is guilty of faking the crash. Though 20 years which I can’t imagine he will get is way too severe of a punishment. He didn’t hurt anyone so I think a 90 day jail sentence and fines and license revoked for life would be appropriate. I’ve got Cirrus SF 50 vision jet and I am a certified pilot. I fly every day almost for business. I knew Trevor Jacob was faking it when I first saw it. I said he should definitely have his license revoked for life.

The more serious crime is obstruction of justice. When he was informed that the FAA wanted to investigate the crash, he hired a helicopter to carry out the wreckage and destroy the evidence. That’s a serious crime and it should be. Once an investigation of any crime starts, you CANNOT interfere, or there’s no point in having an investigative body at all. I would argue five years, three years minimum.

@@tonydejesus2134, I knew about the obstruction of justice. Though I think that too isn’t worse than deliberately crashing a plane. If anything he cleaned up the wreck and saved the taxpayers money. I’m more disturbed by the summer riots of 2020. So many rioters and looters never faced justice for all the theft and destruction. One of my properties in Seattle was vandalized during the riots in 2020. Trevor Jacob should have his license revoked for life. If he gets caught flying again he should do 5 years in prison. That said he didn’t hurt anyone or cause damage to property and he cleaned up the mess. I want to see our law enforcement go after all the people who have robbed or vandalized who haven’t faced justice over the past 3 years of lawlessness. Not some dumb 29 year old guy doing stupid stunts for internet clout.
