The Tofaş Doğan is one of the only turkish car brands to ever exist. It is also one of the cheapest cars for its quality and ease of repair. Because most cars are very expensive the tofas is a favorite among Turkish people. It is also kind of a meme, when people say Tofas, people always think of cheap things that fall apart oncce you use it for a bit lol.
Greetings! I'm a fan from Turkey and i can say that if japan has jdm Turkey has tofaş because its not just a car it's like a family and you can find tofaş teams all around turkey. The car is reliable rwd and kinda fast. you can find parts everywhere. So its a perfect project car.
Nice video! The Tofaş Doğan/Şahin is loved by many because of the amount of mods you can put on the car. It's also really, I mean, REALLY cheap. You can drift it however you want and not worry about crashing :) (or maybe do, they tend to split into two pieces) Greetings from Türkiye !!
It is loved by Turkish people for it's cheapness and easily find-able spare parts. RWD was the another reason why this car is loved by many Turkish people (it was the biggest reason actually). In the times when the Fiat 131's production will end soon, Tofaş was wanting to modernize it for catching the new designs of that era, so they took Regata from Fiat and re-designed it a little. Regata was FWD but when they took it from Fiat, they continued to use it's predecessor, Fiat 131's infrastructure and its produced as RWD. And it was produced with three birds names: Şahin(Hawk), Doğan(Falcon) and Kartal(Eagle). They are known as the "Bird Series" also because of its names. Şahin and Doğan was produced as 4 door sedans, and Kartal was the station wagon version of them. Şahin was the base trim level with an engine that has a old platin ignition system. Doğan was the more luxe, better performance and comfort oriented trim level with it's new semi-electronic ignition system equipped engine. In Turkey, they are still being loved by many people. For me, i don't like that car so much, because of some stupid toxic cancerous ricers that who only knows the noisy fart cannon exhausts and raped suspensions to make it stanced as "customization". Even they are cutting the car horizontally to make it look "more stanced". There is still a few respectable good professional drift and professional drag builds of that car, and i respect to them also but, i don't have any single drop of respect for that stupid imbecile ricers. In few ppl's comments you will see "i don't like that car" or "i hate that car". That's because of that "open-minded" ricers.
because the tofaş dogan-slx can be modified a lot and if you play with the engine a little, you can create a masterpiece with the car. Ben türküm saygılar I'm Turkish Regards
Hello wazzup this why we love this car; 1.its cheap and really easy to work on 2.its turkish and the cars part are cheap 3.you can swap engines (some one put wankel engine and BMW engine ) 4.its beatiful and have a nice looking 5.its easy to drift with it (it dont have ABS etc.) 6.it has 2 different chassis (its really light its 900-1000 kg )
Turkish here. I think this car as Turkish AE86. That's a great car, RWD, cheap repairs, great balance if you tune springs and differential but people with wrong mindset tuned this cars so wrong so often it has the worst reputation right now.
So basically Tofas is the Supra of Turkey. Huge and cheap modification possibilities, reliable and it’s a Turkish brand making it a very cheap car in general.

Turkish guy here. The reason people like them is because it is a very cheap car with a lot of aftermarket support. So this led them to being a low budget tuning base for people who didn't have the income to buy and maintain the import tuner cars.
It is rwd, easy to work on, it has similiar response with ae86, it drifts nice... Nice project car. Its like lada for russians.. Bmw for germans and nissan for japan. But I like my tofaş 131 more, it is fiat 131 but made in Turkiye. Its lighter and has better handling...
Yes we Turks loves tofaş doğan cuz is cheap and not only one style if you want drift it you can if you want make drag you can if you want do stance car you can and we have another types of customizable "etiketçilik" etiket cars is have old pioneer sound systems and only playing arabesque music and looks like american car and you have hay bale in your village you can fit in it everywhere cuz is cheap and you can find parts easyly and old peoples have a lot of memory on this car
as a turkish i can say that its cheap, produced in Bursa-Turkey and it will never break and they are known for thier modifications like bodykits (TOFAŞ is producing fiat's cars in turkey)
