One siege of Harlech castle that wasn't mentioned was the siege of the winter of 1408-1409.The English used cannon to capture the castle that had been held since 1404 by Owain Glyndwr the last Welsh prince of Wales. The castle eventually surrendered - but Owain Glyndwr was never captured.....

They didn't use boiling oil! If they did then it was an incredibly desperate circumstance and they had literally nothing left. Hot sand, feces, rocks, boiling water, throwing spears, and arrows were all more likely to be used than boiling oil - a precious resource.

Wait let me get this straight.. you made a video about Welsh Castles and decided to only mention 3 of them?.. Wales has the highest castle density of any country in Europe with over 600 built and 100 still standing today, could have mentioned that at least

Welsh tribes? They weren’t tribes they were kingdoms. Powys, Deuheubarth and Gwynedd. Harlech was a Welsh castle that was enlarged by Edward 1st. It wasn’t impregnable Owain Glyndwr took it and held it for 5 years.

I wonder if it was one main engineer who designed all the castles and when they went their separate ways all over wales to build them they took them with them. or did each group come up with their own design.

Llewellyn ap Griffydd the last prince of Wales was infact the last king of England he was the grandson of king John but king John remarried another woman from Normandy so king Edward 1 and prince of Wales were infact cousins, Edward didn't want llewellyn to be king so surrounded north Wales to hold back llewellyns claims on England. When John was prince he married Helen lady of Wales they had a daughter called joanna joanna later married the then prince of Wales gruffydd they're son was llewellyn but John became king after the death of king Richard well the normans weren't happy so made John divorce his wife to marry a norman princes but his marriage to lady of Wales Wales legal and consummated making his daughter queen of England and Wales but she was denied this for John's new son and grandson Edward 1 so king Edward wasn't interested in Wales he just wanted to stop llewellyn because he was the true king of England and Wales not Edward
