I was born again and wandered from the word of the LORD. It was a gradual drift. I forgot the voice of the Shepherd. For years I thought I was good with God. It wasn’t until I started reading my Bible intensely these last two weeks that I remember how it was walking with Him in the beginning. Abiding in Him continually. I can’t BELIEVE I forgot. How stupid I was!!! I pray He is gracious and will continue on with me, a prodigal son, a lost sheep that wandered. And that I’m not like Esau in Heb 12:15-17. I repent for everything and I love the good shepherd so, so much.

@ Sean Smith your not the only one brother.i deserve to be thrown into the lake of fire for all the bad stuff I've done.When I first came to the Lord it was with one of those alter calls and sometime later I got baptised, I didn't know about eternal security and thought I could lose my salvation.Thats when the fear came in and uncertainty crept In and slowly I drifted away from the Lord and sinned greatly. I was in my mid twenties and now I'm 51 seeking a way back,its a struggle because I dnt know if the Lord will take me back.From all the bad stuff I've done my heart has become cold and hardened from sin.I have been reading my Bible and that's about all I can do for now.This will be a step in the right direction and I'm glad I've found Cory s channel.Just taking it day by day brother.Lord Jesus have mercy!!!

Excellent message Min. Corey. I believe that if a person is truly saved, the person will--or should WANT to know, follow, and obey Jesus the Christ. I don't know of any person who is a true follower of Jesus Christ that would regret knowing Him, or would want to return to darkness after having experienced light. Why would a blind person, after having received sight, would want to be blind again? I fervently believe that nothing is better than to know Christ and to live for Him. This is my best life!

I believe in eternal security, John 10:28. If you have accepted Christ in your heart as your personal savior and believe God is Lord [and truly mean it in your heart]. God is now your Father. But that doesn't mean you have clearance to act a fool. Sometimes He might have to give you a spanking to get your attention but that isn't a bad thing. Immediately after you accept Christ, the Holy Spirit comes into your heart. The Holy Spirit keeps me in check definitely through Conviction and because I love the Lord, I want to please him. Just because I mess up, which I will because of my flesh and because I'm a sinner, doesn't mean I lost my salvation. I repent [through the grace of God I change my ways] and keep moving.

My sister, there’s no scripture in the Bible that says that immediately a person accepts Christ, the Holy Spirit comes into your heart. Salvation is a different and separate experience from baptism of the Holy Spirit. When you eat saved you rather receive a new nature from God, yes your old Adamic nature is totally obliterated and the you receive a new spirit from the Lord, this spirit is the new you which born from above, which makes you a son or daughter of God, it is this spirit that has the laws of God written in it, that tells you right from wrong. Please if you got this wrong , could you be wron about one saved forever saved doctrine?…. Kindly think about it🤔🤔🤔

WRONG ANSWER FOR SALVATION: because i went to church, got baptized, tried really hard to stop sinning, prayed, read my bible, gave to the poor, looked and acted like a Christian, performed spiritual things in jesus name, preached, casted out demons, did many wonderful works etc. etc. etc.... BIBLICAL ANSWER FOR SALVATION: Because I realized that I was a sinner before God and that i need a savior! I am imperfect and there is nothing I can do to earn my way to heaven and so my only hope to be saved is to put all of my faith and trust in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ on my behalf. BIBLICAL ANSWER FOR SERVICE: Whatever works I may do, whatever spiritual maturity I may reach, whatever sins I may get victory over, whatever fruit i may bear, whatever service i may serve unto the Lord, and how much i may love others cannot save my soul!! These things should come from the desire of the Holy Spirit and God's grace working in you, on you, and through you, as you yield to Him in faith. No matter how little or how much one produces in these areas it cannot save them!! These things should be cultivated in the life of a born again believer because they are desired by God, profitable eternally for the believer, and profitable physically for others here and now, but never lose sight of the Gospel truth that none of us meet God standards and that we who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ are all in the same race at a different place.

1). You don't simply "lose your salvation". If you're not longing for the pure milk of the word, or If you gloss over God's commands/warnings in His word, then ignore the fear and conviction, then ignore His discipline, etc. you can become hardened, not be able to hear truth, and eventually, fall into unbelief. 2). If I have authority, I can "appoint" anyone under my authority to a task or a position, but this doesn't mean that their will is taken away and they can't choose whether or not to remain faithful to the task. We have to continually say "Not my will, but Your will be done." 3). False converts don't even exist in this doctrine, only the deceived. And there is nothing that the deceived can do about their deception. If they are unconditionally chosen, the Spirit will open their eyes, and if they are not, He won't. Whether someone calls themselves a "Christian" or not is irrelevant. 4). Is there anyone that God doesn't know? Jesus saying "I never knew you" is Him not claiming you. Vouching for you to the Father. And He tells you why. They're claiming to do all of these great things but they didn't depart from sin. "Depart from me, you worker of lawlessness". "Now why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock." The opposite of this person will fall (fall away). Just like the parable of The Sower. "The one sown with seed on the rocky places, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no firm root in himself but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution occurs because of the word, immediately he falls away." 5). Sheep simply means follower. People who listen to the voice of God are going to recognize Jesus' voice and follow Him. Even in my own testimony, God was teaching me the difference between good and evil, then after learning about Jesus, I knew He was the way and followed Him. In John 10, Jesus even gives the Pharisees an opportunity to listen to the Father. "If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.” 6). Yes, James is telling his audience that if they are claiming faith and are not working, their faith is dead. This implies that after hearing that warning, they can make an actual decision, and change their ways. Not wait for God to "cause" them to act accordingly. 7). Why would you need to examine yourself or warn people if the elect are unconditionally chosen by Jesus, grace is irresistible, and true Saints will be preserved? Reformed doctrine makes the Bible so irrational. The Bible is deep, but the message is clear and simple if you simply believe the words that's on the page, and not explain the most obvious interpretation away. God knows how to preserve His word enough for His readers to learn The Gospel. We know that it's not God's character to hide His truths behind, what the world perceives, as intellectuals. He is a rewarder of anyone who diligently seeks Him. He doesn't reveal Himself to the wise and prudent, but to the humble and child-like. And I'm not saying that intellectuals can't be humble and child-like. I'm saying that when it comes to the ways of God, we can't be wise in our own eyes. You don't need to understand everything. Again, it's about understanding The Gospel. I have a challenge for anyone reading this. Whether you believe in OSAS or not. PROOF-TEXTING DOES NOT WORK. You need to read multiple chapters to entire books to get the true context. Chapter breakdowns and verse numbers has really messed us up. If you don't count the Gospels, there are 23 books in the New Testament. Every single one takes less than an hour to read. A little longer if you listen to dramatized audio. Everyday, complete a book(read it like the letter it is, while paying close attention to every single word). Some books are so short that you can do two or three. You'll be done with the New Testament in 30 days or less(even if you miss 1,2, or 3 days). As an option, you can even use the remaining days to complete the Gospels. (You'll be done in 10 days if you read 10 chapters a day, which only takes 30 to 40 minutes.) After you're done, do it again. Then after that, do it another time. If you haven't already been doing this, in 6 months, your doctrine will change and for the better.

We remain In Christ because we died with Christ, so we will rise with Christ. We already lost our life to find our life in Him. We are already seated in Heavenly places with Jesus and He has already gone to prepare our Mansions and is waiting to receive us so that where He is, we may be also. Glory to God!! The people being talked about are those trusting in their works and not Jesus. We follow Him because He chose us and we chose Him, that was a one-and-done. Those of us that are saved will always continue in Him, even if we veer off in our flesh, we are still in Christ and we will always come back home and He will finish the work that He started in us until the day of redemption to the praise of His glory.

As usual, Corey focuse on one word to the exclusion of all others. In the case of John 15:16, he focuses on the word ordained which basically means the Christ has purposed us to bring forth fruit. The operative word, however is "should". Jesus says that he has ordained the we should go and bring forth fruit and that our fruit should remain. What happens then, when true believers sin. Corey himself admits that sometimes Christians, including himself, commit sin. Are we bringing forth fruit when we commit sin? Of course not, because in those times we are not doing what we should. We are not fulfilling our purpose. Once again we look at the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2. Jesus indicates to them in verses 2&3 that they were at one point, doing what they should;what they were purposed for. However in verse 4, he indicates that they are no longer fulfilling their purpose because they had abandoned their first love. The " once saved always saved" contingent like to say that Christians who withdraw themselves weren't true Christians in the first place. But they can't say that about the church in Ephesus because they would be contradicting what Jesus said in verses 2&3. Jesus told the church to repent. As the Hebrew writer so aptly said to "holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling" "Today if you hear God's voice, harden not your hearts. He acknowledges in verse 12 that " holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling" can depart from the living God if they become hardened through the deceitful news of sin. Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, when Jesus said that in the last days, because iniquity shall abound , the AGAPE of many will gradually grow cold. Anyway, the word depart used in Hebrews 3:13 is the Greek word aphistemi, which means to withdraw oneself, draw away from. Clearly "once saved always saved" is nothing more than wishful thinking.

The vine branches parable is one of the most compelling argument against OSAS. Ask yourself this: How did these branches get on the vine in the 1st place? Answer: it is because they got "saved". And Jesus is telling these people to STAY SAVED. The word abide means to STAY where you are. And speaking of the word "saved". That is a loaded term, and I think most of the confusion around OSAS is because this word means different things to various people. To some "saved" means Heaven, eternal security - NOW. However, the Bible does not mean saved=Heaven, now. No. It means saved=Heaven, not now. Think of the survivors of the Titanic, out in the middle of the ocean. They got "saved" by climbing in the life boat. But they did not have immediate security because they could easily decide to abandon the boat and die in the icy waters. Until they got to dry land, they were not "Saved, right now". well, Jesus is your lifeboat. But unlike the natural boats in the titanic story, his boat in unsinkable. And all you have to do is remain in the boat until you reach shore.

Yet logically speaking, God would not have to warn us to examine ourselves and see if we "aren't a Christian" because if we find out that we aren't, then there is nothing we can do about it because God either chose and regenerated you or he didn't. I think this argument boils down to what you put more weight on. Either the warning against falling away or the weight of His choosing you. Is the choosing definitive so much that we cannot reject it, or did he draw all men to himself like Jesus says in John 12?

Hebrews Chapter 6 does talk about the possibility of someone who has been made partaker of the Holy Ghost to fall away. Hebrews 12:15 also warns against falling away from the grace of God. In the 1560 Geneva Bible it actually says fall away from the grace of God in Hebrews 12:15 and in the original King James Version Bible it has fall away in that passage on the side of the passage as another way to translate that passage.

Even though I reject the idea of eternal security as totally unbiblical, I recognize your intellectual honesty in admitting that the Bible is full of passages that clearly teach that if you do not behave like a “real” Christian then you will go to hell. Too many preachers out there engage in desperate mental gymnastics to explain away all these passages in the most ridiculous ways. So thumbs up for that. Having said that, your explanation is still very weak. “If you remain in me” refers to people that are already “in Christ”. In fact, you cannot possibly remain in a place where you are not. So these people that are warned are true Christians. You cannot get away from that. So what is the solution? Simple: admitting that salvation by faith does not mean to declare your faith in Christ once and done. Salvation by faith is not a one time event in the past but a lifetime process. “If you remain” implies a continuity in time. Salvation is a work in progress that continues until we die. We cannot possibly be sure of our salvation until then. Because we could always lose our faith and fall away from Christ. We may always “not remain” in Christ. This is the only biblical explanation of salvation by faith. Faith is not a simple statement of faith. Faith cannot be disconnected from good deeds. Faith = producing good deeds. The moment we stop producing good deeds is because we lost our faith, but not because we never had it in the first place. Faith can be lost at any time in our life because we are weak and constantly tempted (as many examples of once true Christians turned lukewarm show). And if we lose our faith, if we do not remain in him, our salvation is lost and our destiny is hell.

Ezekiel18:24, 1Timothy4:1, James5:19-20, salvation is being saved from everlasting death, being given a resurrected body, and receiving life in the age to come. The promise of salvation is obtained by God's grace through faith ( allegiance, trust, loyalty and obedience) in Christ as one holds fast to the Gospel till the end.... for as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order, Christ the firstfruits, afterwards those who are Christ's at his coming.... The son of man will send out his angels and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that offend and those who practice lawlessness and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their father. He who has ears to hear let him hear.....

St. Paul excommunicated (by authoritative letter) at least three men in the Church for their unrepentant sins - sexual acts and blasphemy. St. Paul held bound their unrepentant mortal sin while the soul was still connected to the body - as the final warning before its separation at death. When the man at Corinth, repented of his mortal sin, St. Paul (by letter) wrote again to the Church and asked them to welcome him back. "But if any one has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure-not to put it too severely-to you all. For such a one this punishment by the majority is enough; so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him. For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything. Any one whom you forgive, I also forgive. What I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, to keep Satan from gaining the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his designs." 2 Cor 2

My brother in Christ, I have nothing but love for you. I don't want to trouble anyone with questions, because so few have any depth of understanding. The test that comes upon the whole world, that comes through the son of perdition. What's the purpose of such a test, if the world is already condemned, and the unbelievers are without hope and lost in the world?
@eternalsecurityofthesaints9581
Tests prove position, expose weaknesses or strengths, as well as presents opportunity. After the test is judgment; yet, apart from taking the test, no judgment remains for anyone. You're question is not limited to a single reply, but reaches into multiple theological issues. In 1 Thessalonians 2:7-12, Paul writes concerning what is coming upon the whole world, and the delusion that God Himself will bring upon people at that time; however, a few points must be emphasized: The opportunity was rejected: (vs 10), "because they recieved not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." Their weakness was exposed: (vs 12), "...but had pleasure in unrighteousness." Thus, their position is secured: (vs 12), "That they all might be damned..." This is judgment. But, this leads to deeper questions, like, What is the purpose?, or, more specifically, Why would God create mankind in the garden with the presence of Satan? Why not cast Satan and his angels into the lake of fire the moment they rebelled?

“For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ I don’t believe the doctrine of once saved always saved. Every warning is spoken to believers, from what we can tell by just reading the word. We can speculate, sure, that they’re talking to the ones who are not truly saved, however I think there’s scripture that addresses that directly too. Which were mentioned. And there’s scripture addressing Christians and warning us about who our battle is with and what Satan seeks to do. We are warned to be afraid of the one who can kill the soul. We are warned to stay vigilant and alert. There’s a reason for that. If you once believed and find yourself straying away from the faith then you are at risk of losing your salvation, which is received in the future. Salvation is a promise to those that believe and endure in their faith until the end, despite persecutions. We are warned that loving the world can cause us to lose our life. I believe there’s assurance in the Bible for this who believe and keep on believing and there’s assurance for those who once believed and fall away. So I think the Bible addresses both.

@eternalsecurityofthesaints9581
To recognize that John 15 is not teaching that a child of God can lose their salvation or sonship, one must notice the emphasis of the preceding chapter, as well as the following chapter, which emphasis is the Holy Spirit. Thus, the analogy of the vine and the branches is not concerned with outward position, but with inward life, since the Holy Spirit is recognized as indwelling- the analogy is one of life and death. If a branch recieves life, they will have proof of such life by bearing fruit, but if that life is rejected, no fruit will arrive. Eternal security is revealed in the fact that a fruit-producing branch is in no danger of being cut off and thrown into the fire, and at no point in the parable is it assumed that such an experience is possible for a fruit-producing branch; thus, a fruit-producing branch is forever saved, since that branch possesses life.

Look. I am so sick of commentary referring to Redemption Doctrine as "Once Saved Always Saved." as if the sinners prayer is Abora Kadabora. ... To imply "Once saved always saved as though all you have to do is say the magic words and you are saved is an over simplification. Salvation is two parts, The hear and the Mouth (or Prayer) . The Heart is a vital part. With the Heart man believeth unto righteousness. If you say the words and your heart is not Repentant, then you are not saved. If you say the words because you want to impress some girl, Then you are not saved. If you say the words because the whole rest of the football team is doing it and your heart is not prepared for repentance then you are not saved. If you are only using a sinner's prayer as fire insurance and you are not prepared to genuinely bring Jesus into your heart and life then go back to square one and learn how to prepare your heart for repentance. Bible Teacher ! Alter Worker, you must prepare the person who has come forward and help them understand that God is Not conned. "Make your calling and election sure." If the sinner's prayer is said and through out life there has been no change, Maybe it just didn't take. Get serious with God. Reaffirm your heart felt commitment to the crucified and risen Jesus of Nazareth. Get an old King James Bible. One can be had on line for about $5. Start reading. Gospel of John. Read it again. Learn what it means to be a child of The King. If you have had a time in prayer where you know your sinfulness. You are heat felt sorry for the bad that you have done and you believe that Jesus is God the son and that he died and rose from the dead to pay the cost for sin, then you ask Jesus if he will apply his suffering to your sinful soul. Even say please. Under Heart felt repentance if you are serious with him he will redeem you from your sins. Then you are redeemed for keeps. "All that the father giveth me cometh unto me and he that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out." John's Gospel, Jesus said that. Jesus said "My sheep hear my voice. I know them and they follow me. I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish." Let's look at that. Are you a sheep belonging to Jesus? Do you hear his voice? How? Read the gospels and you hear his voice with your eyes and understanding. Read it out loud and you hear his voice with your ears as well. If you do not want to read the Bible it may be that you do not want to hear his voice in which case the issue of you being his sheep is in doubt. My sheep hear my voice, I know them. ... Jesus said "Many will come to me in that day and say Lord Lord. Have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name cast out devils and in thy name done many wonderful works? Then will I say unto them, Depart from me ye that work iniquity. I Never Knew You." To know in your heart that Jesus knows you, is a humbling thing. In humility you make this fact known to your own heart in Jesus who is not proud and flashy. He is meek and lowly of heart. If you are following a proud and flashy spirit it is not his. If you are in doubt re: whether Jesus and you are connected by his redemption of your soul, Reaffirm your commitment to him and ask him to speak to your heart and reveal this confidence. Do not trust in Prophesy. do not trust in tongues. Do not trust in anyone who is telling you that "God is telling them you should not worry. Do not trust in anything but God's Word The Bible and your own penitent heart as you pray to God in Jesus name. Trust God. ... My sheep hear my voice. I know them and they follow me.... Do you follow Jesus. do you have a desire to learn his word? Or do you follow the things you followed before you said that sinner's prayer? Jesus sheep follow him. If your trust is in anything other than Jesus forgiving your repentant heart and soul. If you are not interested in reading and learning Jesus words in the gospel, If you are not compelled to know what it means to follow Jesus through life, Then you are not his sheep. He has not promised you Eternal life. ...Yet. Once you are truly redeemed having come to Jesus sorry for your wrong confessing and believing, Once you have asked once you have been forgiven by him, Then you are redeemed for ever. For always. If you want to understand this doctrine better in the light of God's Holy Word. I am available to help. Yes when a person is truly repentant and asks Jesus for forgiveness of their sins He does forgive and he does redeem that soul at that moment for all time. Because he is God and he has paid the cost in his own blood. In that light, any repentant person can be "Once Saved Always Saved. ... Amen.

He told them that they must abide in Him if they are to remain and bear fruit, otherwise THEY, yes THEY, will be cut off! That's the proper way to interpret vs.16, by not forgetting what He said in verses 1-8.

Here's a great commentary on Colossians 1:23 from the Believers Bible Commentary by Thomas Nelson that I wanted to share: "Now the Apostle Paul adds one of those if passages which have proved very disconcerting to many children of God. On the surface, the verse seems to teach that our continued salvation depends on our continuing in the faith. If this is so, how can this verse be reconciled with other portions of the word of God, such as John 10:28, 29, which declare that no sheep of Christ can ever perish? In seeking to answer this question, we would like to state at the outset that the eternal security of the believer is a blessed truth which is set forth clearly in the pages of the NT. However, the Scriptures also teach, as in this verse, that true faith always has the quality of permanence, and that one who has really been born of God will go on faithfully to the end. Continuance is a proof of reality. Of course there is always the danger of backsliding, but a Christian falls only to rise again (Prov. 24:16). He does not forsake the faith. The Spirit of God has seen fit to put many of these so-called “if” passages in the word of God in order to challenge all who profess the name of Christ as to the reality of their profession. We would not want to say anything that might dull the sharp edge of these passages. As someone has said: “These ‘ifs’ in Scripture look on professing Christians here in the world and they come as healthy tests to the soul.” Pridham comments on these challenging verses as follows: The reader will find, on a careful study of the Word, that it is the habit of the Spirit to accompany the fullest and most absolute statements of grace by warnings which imply a ruinous failure on the part of some who nominally stand in faith…. Warnings which grate harshly on the ears of insincere profession are drunk willingly as medicine by the godly soul…. The aim of all such teaching as we have here is to encourage faith, and condemn, by anticipation, reckless and self-confident professors."

Once save is always saved is not the same as eternal security. They are quite different. You need to understand this. Having the Holy Spirit dwelling in us is the guarantee of our salvation. The question is... Can the believer come to a point when the Holy Spirit no longer indwells him. The answer is yes, and there are scriptures that indicate this. You are making the point of a person abiding in Christ. For a person to be cut off from the vine he must at first be in the vine. That means that he had salvation. Now because he is not bearing fruits he is cut off from the vine and is thrown into the fire. This means that the reason why he was not bearing fruits is because somewhere along the road the Holy Spirit no longer indwells him. A believer has the choose to walk in the spirit or in the flesh. By walking in the flesh the Holy Spirit may depart from him. The result of which he loses his salvation.

Well it shows that a person in Christ can return to sin and therefore not be saved. Salvation we get later anyway. You're right for the most part but a saved person can become lost or turn false. 2Peter 2;20 also shows us that. 2 Peter 2:20 New International Version 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning." You can say thats about false teachers, yes but they didn't start out that way. "escaped the corruption of the World by knowing Jesus" is describing a saved person.
@eternalsecurityofthesaints9581
2 Peter 2:1-22 does not reflect a person who is saved, but one who only possesses the knowledge of the Lord, which knowledge did, at some point, have a positive effect on their life, yet it was a temporary act of piety. The best description of these individuals is 2 Peter 2:17, "These are wells without water..." By all outward appearances, they seem to possess life, but there is no water (life) within. By knowledge (and only knowledge) they vomit out fleshly conduct, but over time they return to consume their old ways. So, it would have been better for them never to have recieved the information, since now they are left with no excuse, but a more severe judgment is upon them.

In the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7, Jesus is addressing his disciples who are believers. This is a sermon about living the Christian life, not how one is saved. Nowhere in any of these chapters is the subject of salvation mentioned. The context is entrance into the "kingdom" of heaven, not entrance into heaven. See Matt. 5:20 and 7:21. The "kingdom" = the kings dominion or kings domain and those who qualify to enter will rule and reign with the Lord during his millennial reign of 1000 years. Many believers will not enter the kingdom because they do not do the will of the Father, but they will be in heaven.

In revelations it says the overcomer will in no wise be blotted out of the book of life who is the overcomer? He who believes. A gift is given meaning it can not be earned otherwise it becomes a reward. Hence why we get rewarded in heaven for our good deeds but salvation is a gift. A gift also does not require maintenance. If you dnt want assurance in your salvation look to your performance and works! It will keep you in that viscous death cycle wondering if your even saved in the first place. You cannot grow in that state of double mindedness! If you want true assurance look to your faith alone in the gospel and God's word alone. He wants us to have assurance he wants us to rest in his promises and not doubt that what he said is true....Only then can you truly grow and have assurance. He truly finished it all! Remember... gal 2:20 it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me

I can answer this question? How can anybody possibly reconcile revelation 14: 11-12? It is impossible, if the saints were saved and always saved! This passage is known as the perseverance of the saints passage. The saints who take the mark are forsakers of the faith and therfore did not have the faith and will be thrown in the lake of fire. They were never saved even though they were called saints. Like Christians who you would say once were believers and will always be saved but now put there faith in Islam. These are the ones that were never saved because if there faith was genuine; then its impossible to fall away!! Once saved always saved is conditioned on remaining in Christ. There are many passages that mention people falling away and especially in end times. If you have faith in the unseen and Jesus and you can renounce then you did not have faith.

My thoughts on “Once Saved Always Saved” and why I believe it’s a LIE: I literally had a calvanist tell me you can take the mark of the beast and “repent” for taking it… 🤣 That’s how DECEIVED they are! Truly strong delusion has been sent to these ppl to believe a lie. Our salvation is not based on works… but our obedience to Christ is proof of our salvation. Those who continue in willful habitual sin after receiving “salvation” are tares and know not the truth. They are on their way to hell unless they repent. God hates sin.. and we must live a lifestyle of repentance daily. Most calvanists I know (with the exception of a FEW) are living worldly, sinful lives, yet they mistakingly believe they’re on their way to “heaven”… I have a healthy fear of the Lord… Jesus preached on repentance and hell more than anything else in the scriptures. I would rather die knowing I was striving to keep His commandments instead of pretending I am on my way to heaven knowing I have things to repent of… that’s not “works” based that’s true love. Besides, our good works are also proof we love God… “faith without works is dead being alone.” When our hearts truly change, so will our works… God literally says He is going to judge every man according to their DEEDS, whether they be good or whether they be evil… It’s so simple a child can understand… If your deeds are evil you will be punished if they are good, you will be rewarded. Jesus in you never wants to sin and if you have the Holy Spirit He will reprove you everytime! We will eventually sin on this walk with God (He who says he has no sin is a liar and the truth is not in him) because we still have this filthy flesh and its desires to live with, but we will immediately be convicted and turn to Jesus. The point is not to continue in those sins, (especially not habitually) but to acknowledge them and use the grace of God to OVERCOME them! Someone who watches porn everyday is not overcoming sin, they’re in rebellion and giving into Satan not God. It’s the same concept as marriage… It’s supposed to be a lifetime commitment btwn two Christians who love God… but if a person cheats on their spouse or they depart from them, that marriage is null/void… It’s the same for our relationship with Christ… If we cheat on Him or turn our backs on Him He is not obligated to remain “married” to us… There is NO reconciliation without repentance!!! You can’t be reconciled to your spouse for cheating unless you STOP cheating… it’s the same with literally any sin we are living in. How can you say you love God when you are not obeying him? “Why call ye me Lord, Lord and do not the things I say?”-Jesus It’s not “once you’re saved you’re always saved” neither is it “once you’re married you’re always married.” In order to be reconciled to a marriage or to Christ, one must REPENT. Its a lifestyle of choosing righteousness over sin. Read John 6:66… That is the spirit of anti-Christ that is now in our world and they that turned their backs on Christ WERE HIS DISCIPLES and they chose to walk no more with Him (Meaning they once were saved and chose not to walk with him anymore). “He who ENDURES till the end, the same shall be saved.” Jesus equates love to our obedience… “If you love me, keep my commandments.” -Jesus We all know Jesus loves us… But do we love Him? Our actions will always prove whether we do or not. Period. If you have a relationship with Christ, you’ll love the things He loves and hate what He hates… He hates sin and He loves righteousness, so shld we.

I feel like we would need to get deeper into the passage and context. Especially with 2 Corinthians 3:5 its saying to examine ourselves. I think most people interpret that to mean look at how you're acting and your outward obedience, but wouldn't it make sense to understand it as examine yourselves as a means to see what you're believing or trusting in? Cause they Paul was being questioned of his legitimacy, so hes telling these group of people to check themselves and what their believing if they are gonna question his apostleship. Then the verse John 10 5 Is it not talking about the gospel? Christians who are trusting in Christ and the gospel won't go and believe some false gospel/teaching but stay firm in the gospel they were presented by Christ. Because if we are always examining our "fruit" or obedience or life I feel like it takes Jesus out of the center light and puts the focus on us and makes it a, let's keep making sure you're acting in accordance with how you should be or you're not really saved.

A genuine Christian experience requires being born again. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. You are stuck in a mindset where you are insecure about salvation either because you don't have the Holy Spirit yet or because your faith/mind is being attacked by the devil. If you want to be sure, go through the process of 1. repenting of your sins and confessing them to God 2. Professing with your mouth faith in Jesus Christ that he died for you and rose from the grave on third day and then you should receive the Holy Spirit. What is important to realize is that the Holy Spirit is a person. He is the third person of the trinity or Godhead as it says in the Bible. When you receive the Holy Spirit and begin to fellowship with him and walk with him, your life and works will change naturally. When you have a true encounter with our Father in heaven, you will not remain the same. We are saved by grace through faith as per Ephesians 2:8 however, if you read James chapter 2, you will find that faith without works is dead. So what does that mean, does it contradict? No. This is saying that genuine faith has works accompanying it. We are not saved by our good works because we can't earn our way into heaven but when we receive the Holy Spirit, our attitudes change and we produce good works BECAUSE we have been saved, not because we want to earn salvation. In Ephesians 1:12-14 it shows us that the Holy Spirit is the guarantee of our inheritance in heaven. Hope this helps you in some way, God bless.

@eternalsecurityofthesaints9581
You have to consider that many who "turn from the faith" were never known by the Lord from the beginning, but were planted in the assemblies to weaken true believers, and disarm the soldiers of God. I say this in reference to the prophecies spoken by Jesus in Matthew 13:31-33, "The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becomes a tree, so the birds of the air come in lodge in the branches." This is a negative parable, where a bush unnaturally transforms into a tree with many branches (denominations), where the birds (demons- for Jesus called birds demons (vs. 4), lodged (lit. made nests) in the branches. Nests are made to accommodate the children of the birds; thus, it is apparent, the children of the devil has saturated the assemblies. Which leads to the next negative parable, Matthew 13:33, "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the WHOLE was leavened." Seems a little stealthy and malevolent to sneak the leaven in there like that, but such is the case.

@catholictruth102 It is connected with Matthew 6 concerning the Lord's prayer, If you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will my Father forgive your trespasses. Christians are at a higher level of accountability because of the blessings bestowed upon them, one of which is not being eternally condemned. However, this does not leave a Christian with no accountability or consequences. In Matthew 5, when a brother does not reconcile with another brother, he is 'thrown into prison until he has paid his debt". Being thrown into prison is a possibility for a Christian, but it is not a permanent position, as the scripture suggests.

As indicated in John 20, Christ (the evening of His Resurrection) commissioned His Apostolic Church to reconcile the sins of mankind. "As the Father has sent Me, even so I send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” 1 John 5 draws the distinction between sin that we can ask God directly to forgive to those that the Church is required to either forgive or hold bound. "13 I write this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 And this is the confidence which we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him. 16 If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and God[b] will give him life for those whose sin is not mortal. There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that. 17 All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal."

@@smartchristians Once saved always saved is a religious term used in reference to eternal security. Jesus nor Paul never used such expression. Eternal security is expresses in a way that suggests that in Christ you are secure as long as you walk in the Spirit which is a gerantee and seal of your eternal hope. Rom. 8:1- 3 says, "There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit..." ( Its conditional).It seems to me that in Christ one can either choose to walk in the spirit or in the flesh. God having place the true believer in Christ, and having empowered us with his Spirit, grace and mercy, and fill us with the joy of salvation gives us the impetus to continue in him, and therefore would not come into judgement. Therefore I conclude that the believer, once he is in Christ and walk in the Spirit no one can pluck him out of God's hand, and therefore has eternal securit. Also as a Biblical teacher of the Word you should be carefull in using religeous terms to express a spiritual truth. It may cause misunderstanding. The apostle Paul had to write to a church to currect there wrong concept of the truth of eternal security, as they began to live fleshly lives having giving into their idea of once saved always saved. Another verse to consider is John 1 " if ye walk in the light as He is in the light ye hath fellowship one with the other, and the blood of Jesus cleances us from all sins." From this verse we can also incline that eternal security is conditional. "IF" MICHAEL YEARWOOD

If you disagree with what i shared here, please respond with scripture and explain in the context in which it was written. * If you don't understand and believe that the entire original manuscripts of the bible was spiritually written by Israelites, you will never understand God's word. ( Christ opens our understanding to the scriptures, Luke 24:44-45) Here Paul identifies himself and the other apostles as Hebrew Israelites 2 Corinthians 11:22 Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I. Here we go, there are no bible verses that says salvation is of Christianity. ( Isaiah 45:17, Romans 11:1-27), share if you can find one. God says He is the God of Abraham,Isaac and Jacob. ( Exodus 3:6, Matthew 22:32), share a bible verse that says He is the God of Christianity ( Luke 1:68) And God says the children of Israel looks like Ethiopians and Egyptians which are sons of Ham. Amos 9:7 Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the Lord. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir? * God's set apart covenant people are so called black people. Not all black people are bloodline Israelites. God never gave Christians His word ( Psalms 147:19-20, Romans 3:1-2), He is the God of Abraham,Isaac and Jacob, His set apart covenant people ( Jeremiah 31:31-34, Hebrews 8:8-12) Jesus says He was sent for Israel.( Matthew 15:24), and His apostles says the same in ( Acts 5:29-32) Jesus says salvation is of the Jews.( John 4:22-24), meaning the southern kingdom of Judah, because the northern kingdom was scattered. Paul says the message of salvation was sent to the seed of Abraham ( Acts 13:26) Jesus told Israelites at the sermon on the mountain,you are the salt of the earth and light of the world ( Matthew 7:13-14), there weren't any Christians present because Rome who crucified Christ didn't established Christianity until the 4th century at the council of Nicaea. Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. ( God sent Jesus to wake up Israel, and once the 12 tribes are awakened they can be a light to the gentiles, because they were scattered abroad among them) Paul the apostle of Christ was a Hebrew Israelite of the tribe of Benjamin ( Romans11:1) not a Christian as the devil deceives you into believing. Paul says in Acts 13:47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. ( Clearly quoting Isaiah 49:6) Who did James write to? James 1:1 the 12 tribes scattered. Who did Peter write to? 1 Peter 2:9 ( Exodus 19:3-6), The 12 tribes scattered among the gentiles. Jesus says endure until the end to be saved ( Matthew 24:13), absolutely no one is saved already. Paul says work out your own salvation with fear and trembling in Philippians. The twelve gates to enter the kingdom of heaven, are named after the twelve tribes of Israel ( Revelation 21:12), there are no Christian gates because there is no salvation in Christianity. Jesus says in Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.( Prophesied in Isaiah) Isaiah 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Isaiah 14:1 For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Jesus encouraged him in the faith by sign wonders and miracles the disciples bought news to him. The Holyghost helps a christian today to keep enduring. That it's done it's finished paid in full this complete one salvation saved to the uttermost. John believed God helped his unbelief. Like the guy who told Jesus I believe help my unbelief. Our position never changes. And some have never positioned themselves into Christ and his imputed righteousness through the cross.
