Now this is why I come here to Casino Guitar's RU-vid: mile high marriage advise, movie reviews, AND GUITAR TALK. You guys are so relatable to me. And really, you carry Fender so who really cares about anything else.
Because there are guitars out there better than any Strat or Tele you can get your hands on..... in my opinion.😅 I was a Fender guy through my whole childhood to now where I'm 30. I recently discovered PRS and ever since I bought a couple PRS guitars, I never touch my Fender's or Gibson's anymore lol.
This is one of the reasons I keep watching y’all. A dose of real life in a small shop, a commitment to quality and dealing with the good guys and not the jerks, and a little Mad Max thrown in at the end (was he called Toe Cutter?). What more can you ask for over your morning coffee?
No matter what brands you guys carry, I’ll probably leave empty handed just because I’m a lefty and there’s only so many choice we have. That’s not on you guys or any guitar shop obviously. As a lefty, you just accept that it is what it is….and Fender Mod Shop is your friend!! 👍. Which you guys probably would be good people to speak to when building something in the Mod Shop. When I ordered my Tele deluxe in lefty from the mod shop I actually tried to find a guitar shop that wouldn’t mind if I came in and talked to them about the options I had. I’m a newer player so I have lots of questions. LOL Not yet me shop said they’d even let me come in and talk it over with them since they said they get nothing from doing that. Guitar Centers I called, literally thought I was making a joke of some kind! Literally laughed at me! I’d do anything to be near a shop like Casino. And I love the videos every morning! Thanks for everything you do!👍
One of my local shops got very casual in a conversation about how Fender treats their small shops like trash, going into detail about having to order 5 of 1 guitar vs just 1, etc... can't get product even before Mar 2020, etc.
Besides the jim root models or the troublemaker i hate fender. Bolt ons are so cheap to build and they charge 2/3 grand for mim fenders. Its wrong. Just my opinion
@@dancompton1728 They really are great- kind of a perfect gigging musicians instrument. No compromise on the components and playability but doesn't cost so much that you'd go catatonic if it got swiped or damaged. With their bass roll off feature, there are very few sets their double agent model couldn't pull off with flying colors.
One reason why it's nice to have different stores locally is to have more options--including brandwise. I've seen stores go out of business or get bought out--and it gets harder to find some brands.
Hey guys, Keith from Richmond. I'm so thrilled that you made that comment about Eastman guitars!!!! There's a lot of misconceptions because of them being built in China, but people don't understand that they are not some sweat shop brand, and they supposedly pay their well trained Luthiers, and Carvers well. I had never heard of them until January of 2020, and by August I aquired an SB59/V, and having owned over 100 guitars in the last 40 years, it is tied with an unusually well made 71 Walnut ES 335 TD as the finest guitar I've ever owned. I wish you'd add them to your stable, you'd have a once a year customer for them! Thanks for the great videos. Peace, Keith in RVA
I agree….went shopping for a Les Paul (in the rural world of Mt in the late 00’s) and actively shopped for years before giving up. Ended up buying a 2016 SB59V from one of their few distributors in the States after they debuted at NAMM. I had read a review in the the UK Guitarist magazine. It is the best (electric) guitar I have ever owned and easily one of the best electric guitars I’ve ever picked up. Fits like a glove, doesn’t break your neck(or wallet) and rings. Next will either be the 55SB(?) or their casino model. Stunning in looks, sound and most importantly to me, the feel. Hard to pinpoint but you know it when you hold it. Maybe it’s their choice of wood and varnish and out of the case playability. It has only happened a couple of times….the JMJ Fender Bass was one-it was light, felt great and all guitarists at some point should get a bass. Most guitars I just get used to. Few just feel right at home the first time you play. I’ve experienced that more times shopping for old 30’s-40’s Gibson/Martin acoustics but it’s been more elusive with electrics. There are so many plastic dipped lifeless guitars. I have liked every Eastman electrics I’ve ever picked up. Currently building a tele because I can’t afford the one I want. It feels somewhat like a secret that hasn’t been let slip. Cheers!
My favourite local shop just started carrying Fender and Squier , so now have all the major bases covered unless you want super high end. That being said in Australia so many amps are just not in stock
When I worked at Wray Music in Lemoyne Pa we carried Gibson Fender PRS Orange Mesa pretty much all the big hitters less Marshall which we had but let go. In the mid 2000's Henry made us buy in at Gibson for an ASTOUNDING amount. We did and flourished but you had to take EVERYTHING they carried Daisy Rock Korg stuff that sat forever. Then the next year he upped the buy in.And you took what they gave you ie: Black Les Paul Customs flew off the shelf. But they would send us Wine Red. We were a Gibson dealer pretty much constantly since 1955. We severed ties when they proposed the second buy in. Then came a Guitar Center and a few years later Wrays closed. Damn shame
My local guitar shop is here in Lexington ky. Willcuhtts music. (Probly spelled their name wrong.) But u guys or another guitar channel rated them #3 as best guitar shops in the u.s. im proud to call them my guitar store that ive always used.
Here where I live there’s mostly small music stores and unless you are looking for a Mexico made Fender or a Epiphone you don’t get a opportunity to try what you want before ordering it. I know they don’t sell enough higher end instruments to carry many but it’s hard to pay for a more expensive instrument that you won’t get to try until it comes in and you’ve already put a deposit on.
If Chappers were Baxter or Jono?... then, I'd buy Chapman's by the dozen! Alas, Chappers is as uncool as a spit-roast barbie ontop of Uluru in January. Grossly over-rated over-hyped over-priced over-designed... Sadly, nowadays I'm just sooo over both the Captains' infantile asinine act as well as salutin' high-falutin' Chappers a.k.a. The sh-Red Baron? 500 million-notes-per-second raking boring as bioluminescent bourbon-infused batshit is Chappers incessant 'fast as possible' approach to the utterly uncool unmusical messy unintelligible & quite clueless mindless speed shredding!?. Yuk! An unmusical metalhead is Chappers thoroughly, each to their own though is my saying, so nothing personal I just can't stand shred-sh*t guitarists. Shredders are just like unemployed teachers - they've got no class. Now, Danish Pete is cooler than a dead eskimo with rigor-mortis in an industrial freezer! Pete is a wiz & he plays with musical panache & 'feel'. He can also play almost any genre of music which beats shredding sh*tstirrers all day long! A bit... a lot like your playing style Bax, which is the ducks nuts! With guitar styles, personally - less shred = more cred - nuff said. Didyabringyabongalong Station, Central QLD, Australia.
Have you all selected any local luthiers to work with, or partnered with any “boutique” amp folks that give you options away from the corporate brands?
Still some good guys and good guitars. Hope there’s a really cold beer joint near Casino. The kind of place that owns a J45 with a lit stool in the back corner. Is great BBQ too much to ask?
I've never seen it, but I remember it being recommended to me at the time. I did attend a space camp, but we didn't have a shuttle simulator. We had a Gemini simulator, which was pretty cool, but it meant that only two kids got to be astronauts, and the rest of us were mission control.
Hey guys wanted to ask you what you thought of the 2020 Gibson 59 HCS....the one's that run around 2400 ? Found a nice 8.4 lb one that's had a fret dress and pro set up Thanks In the market
Why can't I find any links to Baxter's movie review channel in the descriptions of any of these videos? I want to see if he goes off on guitar tangents in those!
They really don’t for the most part. Most of the big brands kinda go hand and hand; fender and Gibson, and Martin and Taylor. And most are really supportive of carrying each other. They’re still competitive but it’s all in a good way…for the most part:)
Can't say what a shop carries since i haven't been to one in nearly six years and that was to sell stuff (dum ass...) but do like the Magnatone t shirt. I'm a fan. Knew of the brand back in '68 when my best friend is given a 1 12 tone and vol Mag and an Audition JazzAlike for Christmas. Traded this for a mini bike. Always had a motorcycle later but,,,, '75, stop by a shop. Estey era tube 1 12, squared oval side panels, black front mounted control panel, white grille cloth with black squiggle paint. Oh, reverb and the classic vibro. $75.00 with a cover. Great at home amp. Screamed with a red script Big Muff, Cry Baby and '75 Strat. Maybe new tubes would have helped but not powerful enough to hang with a drummer. Still an amazing rig. Stuff sat so sold everything just after getting married and moving to an apt. man, year later, move to a house like duplex and playing again. Sorry for the long post but lots of gears and a few paying gigs later, I've NEVER seen an amp like that little Mag again. They should offer one as a budget model ;) I'd buy it.
This video started out with Schecter sucks. I have Fenders, Gibsons, and some otger brands. I do have a schecter explorer type that is SO GOOD AND I WANT ANOTHER.
I'm looking for a Heavy Metal Accordion......with built in Distortion. You guys simply MUST carry them. They're getting REALLY Popular. Don't miss the Opportunity!!!! 😳
I'm pretty sure you would have to carry Squier but you don't have to carry the other brands like Gretsch, Jacskon, EVH, etc. I've been to quite a few Fender dealers that only had Fenders and Squiers out of all the Fender owned brands.
@@devilsguitaristmusic there are different sorts of dealer contracts. With Fender you can only sell Squier as a small mom and pop shop. Or if you’re a high-end boutique dealer you can exclusively sell Custom shop. The other brands owned by Fender are independent and not required.
¨Some brands suck. Video over, donë¨ Johnathan you rule man lol btw who’s the new guy? Jk like the new look Baxter, rocking out a new style… ¨the Baxter¨ rock on guys, love getting my fix of all things guitar from you 🤘
I don't understand why people buy guitars made by huge brands like Fender or Gibson. But I also don't understand why people enter Walmart stores. I wish more people shopped local, and bought from boutique builders that actually care about what they're making. But... I digress.
I don't think the average consumer realizes just how expensive it is to buy into these brands. I don't know what they are now, but I think Gibson used to be like 100k and Fender was around 60k. You had to spend that amount just to be able to have the privilege of carrying the brand. It's really easy to say "why don't you have Suhr"? when you don't realize that's tens of thousands of dollars more investment and you got invoices that are going to be due from a dozen other manufacturers.
Exactly! I think the buy in is even higher than that now. In the last five years I’ve had four different Fender dealers tell me that with Fender it costs extra for each product line: Mexican, Japanese, US, Custom Shop, Acoustic, and Amps and of course Squier is separate from all of that as are the other brands under the corporate umbrella. It seems that Gibson does the same thing, but I don’t really know any Gibson dealers well enough to ask.
For sure, if it doesn’t sell we won’t carry it but even things we could sell, we won’t carry it if we don’t like it…we’re not smart enough to learn about everything either:) Thanks a ton!
I mile high clubbed after marriage! It was a honeymoon though. Was only married a day. And the only reason why she agreed was because she passed out drunk on our wedding night.
I like sea anemones too! Can you guys do a top 5 brands that suck video?!?!?!😁 Can you Mythbust if Schecter is a satanic brand? I mean one guitar had a part #666🤔😈
Just watched this one. I noticed you have Gibsons. Although they have a brand following the quality has dropped over the years. That’s why I switched to ESP. You have no ESPs, why? This is a brand that has country users. My opinion it just blows Gibson away quality, verity, and service. When ever I order a custom shop I’ve gotten great service, updates, pictures of the progress. A lot of attention to detail. I’m making an assumption but if you’re a Gibson fan then ESP should be a no brainer. I just bought a new Schecter C-1 EX Apocalypse but after the new year will be going for the Fender Jim Root. Is it on your wall or is it to metal for your shop.
So now then ..I don’t know dip about economics…so I my view ..if you don’t have at least 50people coming into your store every day ..and..at least 10 of them buying something ..you are having a tough time paying rent and buying groceries …or even getting a haircut..or.. shave .. 👍😎🎸
Fortunately not everyone can be a guitar snob 😂 lol and yes sometimes space is a premium I'm happy with vintage and CS Fenders and Gibson Now vintage off brands are very cool so it's ok to be picky It's ok guy's
