You might not have a lot of money, BUT you got something money can't buy....INTEGRITY and HONESTY. Thanks for all the great work and research. I have always known for 20 years that franchises were only in it for themselves but you helped put more light on it.
It isn't that TikTokers aren't more biz minded, it's that YT (the platform) caters to their corporate sponsors, which directly or indirectly, might be who you review. Your knowledge is power, and there are forces that do not want you disseminating such valuable info. Either way, thank you for your valuable resources.
This is the most inspirational channel on social media I understand this is a buisness but for informational purposes lots of "youtubers" are going to Rumble and Tiktok for the exact reasons you mentioned in this video
You always have great content. If I was to ever consider a franchise I would contact you first. I would love to see the list of franchisees that sent legal notices. That would be the first list I would use to eliminate those I would consider. If they are too weak to overcome factual reviews, then that would be a scarry place to do business.
Thank you! I consider us lucky, Sean Kelly at Unhappy Franchisee has been sued for millions. Mark Golub (Curves franchise) alone sued him for $35,000,000! The lawsuit got tossed, but its an expensive pain in the meantime.
Counter sue for frivolous law sute. This is also why the court system needs to be changed where the loser pays the court costs for all parties. Or at least when the case gets tossed, then the plaintiff(s) pay all of the defendant(s) legal costs and travel expenses. Then, these fake lawsuits will disappear.
Funny you mention this because just the other week I was thinking, I haven’t seen your videos recommended in over 2 years. I actually assumed that you just stopped making them.
Ridiculous! That's how you know your content is impactful and that RU-vid PRETENDS to be unbiased, like taking away the thumbs down. You've saved myself and thousands of others from making a mistake that could literally ruin our lives! Maybe consider sending them a cease and desist letter and threaten to sue for censorship that's negatively impacting your business financially.
I'd love to think there's a way to cleverly get the information across or at least clue people into how to get your real data, all while you can enjoy some ad revenue. I believe in you! Also, i'd RUN to Rob's animal channel.
Good idea - the problem is there are so many things people have to know, each industry has different challenges, there are demographic considerations, their operational abilities, proper financing, exit strategy, creating financial projections, and they wouldn't have the insider data that we are exposed to being in the industry. We hear of a lot of the nasty things that happen that often aren't publicized. It would be like learning to become your own lawyer or doctor. We've been walking buyers through the process for 15 years so our process is quite comprehensive. (and free as part of the broker process) Thanks for the comment!
Nonetheless thank you very much for all the work you put in. It's a real shame this is what it came to be I really enjoyed those videos. I hope the ones you have put out already were enough to warn people that not all is sunshine and rainbows in the world of franchising.

I assumed that you were getting legal threats when you responded to my request yesterday. I have come to know your channel as transparent. I appreciate it. I see this video as a direct response to my request from yesterday. I did watch the video link that you shared. I think it is very cool and professional that you made this 5 minute video to explain why you couldn't review the company that I requested yesterday. I didn't think I would get a response. I posted in a community post that was a few years old. Thank you again for responding. I watched a documentary on the business that I asked about and it's not doing well. It's privately owned and the investment company is spending billions to make it relevant to take it public again. That company went bankrupt in the early 2000s and also in 2020. I actually go there and enjoy the business, but it doesn't seem like a solid investment. Sadly. Keep up the great videos. I look forward to seeing them. Again, thank you for responding so quickly. This channel deserves a few million subs and even more views.
Had been meaning to do this video for a while - so thanks for the reminder! Yes, that franchise has experienced quite a few issues, and the market in general with larger footprint "sit down" establishments have been mostly seeing a steady decline. From what I heard they are now more focused on international expansion vs the USA. Inflation has also been disproportionately hitting margins in the food industry.
@@FranchiseCityOnline I also heard that they are looking to expand outside the USA. I have young kids and I've thought about how cool it would be to run over of those businesses. Unfortunately, it's not looking good. The video I watched was on a series on RU-vid called bankrupt. Maybe they'll come back. I don't know. There are plenty of successful businesses, that we all recognize, that have been bankrupt. We'll see what the next decade brings for them. I am curious to know what you have in store for your channel now without reviews? I genuinely enjoy learning about them. I also agree that it's not with putting out that content for minimal profit on RU-vid.

I myself have made ppl watch certain videos you made when they said to me "did you hear Amazon Delivery is only $10K to start?" ... or when someone said to me, "I wanna invest in a Franchise, something like a 7 Eleven". Those ppl thanked me after I fwd them those videos and I would always say "don't thank me, thank Franchise City! those ppl are doing God's work"!
Here’s an idea for you: Just feature new franchises coming into the market and also do a Top 5 or 10 franchises you would recommend in each industry based on your subscribers’ interests. Guaranteed no Cease and Desist letters as those bad companies won’t even be mentioned in your channel. It’ll be a Win-Win!

Local demographics, operator abilities, local competition, staffing, exit strategy, budget, etc. We typically conduct 20-30 hours of research before we make a recommendation to a buyer. The same franchise could be great in one situation and terrible in another. Nobody should have to be their own Doctor, Lawyer or Franchise expert. I believe Canada does have them. I don't think it would get that far as these haven't got to the point of monetary damages and we always pull them down anyway. I guess we have been lucky because other bloggers have been dragged through the whole process!
RU-vid cut me off from commenting for a period of time because i had comments put towards a group that starts with a T and ends with an S and is a part of the WOKE. Im a gay man and i was banned. I feel like i woke up and my worst fear has come true. It feels like pre WWII Germany.
Unfortunately many videos got deleted. It wasn't too bad at first but lately its gotten a lot worse. There are still quite a few live from over the years - fingers crossed we can keep those up!
Im a long time viewer, whos gotten a lot of entertainment out of FC. I love educational content, and a lot of my favorite youtubers are on Nebula, the creator owned platform. Im a Nebula subscriber, I would watch FC there if you joined.
Thanks! I'm sure they would be thrown out but in the meantime it costs us thousands to fight it. They can also do things with RU-vid like copyright claims and eventually with enough circumstances we could be banned. RU-vid will basically always side with the claimant if they are the trademark holder.
@@FranchiseCityOnline I think you do a great service to the people thinking of buying the franchises and the franchise sellers not everyone’s meant to be a business owner and franchises need to realize that I know their model growth growth growth at all costs but doing that sometimes you get involved with people they just aren’t meant to run your business correctly and that leads to bad consequences for both sides

I am just lost for words but yet not surprising. Your videos are so helpful for beginners or professionals alike but I guess dictatorship views it differently. Heartbreaking
That's how you know that you guys are very effective at what you do, But here's a suggestion how about making a video to show aspiring investors where to look for this information and what to look for when you receive the documents, since these franchises are acting like you are providing illegal information, because there would be nothing illegal about that.
