I hereby, with the power invested in me by the Achievement Selection Society of Hard Operating Larpers Eternal (A.S.S.H.O.L.E.), do reward Robert Robertson best RU-vid comment award, first place 🥇 . . Congratulations 😂
@@mrman3523 I laughed at the comment, then laughed at the soldier. "They got more training than we do" What are you a paper file? Tell that to the guys from 01-09.
6:29 At the risk of over-geeking, the expression you are looking for is thermal capacitance or heat capacity. The more thermal capacitance you have, the less your temperature increase for the same amount of energy added. The value comes from (engineering term) the specific heat of the part material and the mass of part.
Norsii The material is the same as an M-LOK (Aluminium) but the added mass gives it a higher total heat capacity. Also another big reason is quad rails aren't as tight around the barrel giving you a larger volume of air between the rail and barrel.
@@whisk3675 I mean yeah, its applied physics (heat transfer) mechanical engineers are the people that really get deep in the world of thermofluids topics. What you mentioned are just some properties. This would be more close to heat transfer with conduction, convection and radiation. You could set up a thermal circuit to solve for the heat loss from the rail and the heat gained from the barrel, but it would be really complex by hand. Running FEA with software would probably yield a better approximation
The content you guys always come out with is amazing, but shout out to the boys on the production team because this was one of the coolest videos you guys have produced.
Not only valuable and relevant information, presented in a fantastic way… Kudos to the production team who worked on the video. Definitely top notch! 🎥 ⭐️
I always learn something valuable from your videos. I'll never reach the skill levels that you have but with how you share and display what you have learned for others to follow has definitely helped me improve my personal firearm skills noticeably. I in no way shape or form throw lead downrange as prolifically as you do and I definitely don't have the variety of firearms that you use but with my very basic Norinco Sks with iron sights and my Smith and Wesson SD9 VE. I try to have at least a thousand round for each at all times because I practice at least once a week but I don't usually shoot more than 100 rounds from each. Since I started watching your videos I've been able to improve my draw and reduced my Target acquisition time and accuracy overall. I would love to take a few courses from you and or anyone that is a part of your team. That however is something I may never do. Thankfully you put these videos up. Thank you for the videos and subtle humor thrown in. You are awesome and I appreciate your time everyone.
Built my MK18 and totally love it. Rails are really built like a tank. I have keymod, and mlok. They are all fitted with full length picitinny rails, only because that's what i prefer. I don't care for the thin rails. Too small for my hands. Great video. Enjoy watching other builds.
The last couple of minutes may have been the coolest couple of minutes on RU-vid. I've literally stayed up past 1 AM this week watching all of their content. So sick, but also informative. I've learned a lot. Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels on RU-vid. Next to GarandThumb.
I like that winter map way better than the spring version. The software update where your footsteps never disappear really makes the map come alive for tracking or being tracked.
I love my MK18 block 2, it’s literally my go to gun for almost everything. It was a gun I used a lot overseas in many different scenarios. I’ll buy the new DD mk18 RIS lll but it will never replace my mk18 block 2. I have a couple Giesseles that are 11.5 with the slim mk13 rail and I still prefer my RIS ll rail. I will say this, I prefer 60 grain vmax 556 pills over heavier stuff
I'm having a tough time deciding on whether to get a MK18 with RIS II rail or the RIS III. I like both a lot. I currently have the M4V7 and it's a nice rail on it for sure. The MFR.
Built mine on Aero M4E1 lower with a SIG Romeo red dot, Geissele G2S trigger, “silent” buffer (tungsten powder) & Damage Ind. spring. Those RIS 2 quad rails are “industrial” strength. The thing is a joy to shoot suppressed.
Sean Kavanagh Absolutely!!! Lucas is an accomplished shooter, but he has never served, and does not have a clue about combat, or artic warfare. Being a citizen and enjoying the freedoms our Constitution provides us is a blessing, playing commando because you can shoot fast and have all the cool toys misses the point. Go back and look at his earlier videos, he was smart and demonstrated the basics, now every time he makes a video he is wearing a helmet, chest rig, as if that is the way he runs around every day. Just an observation, still have lot’s of love for T. Rex and what they do👍
I bought the Daniel Defense M4V7p which is essentially a Mk18 pistol with the DD mlok rail. Run it dedicated suppressed with a Saker 556 and H2 buffer. Thing absolutely runs. Will eat anything I throw at it. Even grouped 2moa with a 5 shot group of 40gr varmint loads, just to see if it could. Seems the 1/7 mil spec twist on shorter barrels can accommodate lighter loads better than longer barrels. Can definitely save ALOT of money buying something to the same specs from another manufacturer or building yourself. If you don’t care about clone correct rails and furniture, you can easily build a Mk 18 inspired build for less than $1000.
J H. Right. I’m wondering where in VT they were? I wonder it the VTr’s were mad that they got to play with mags that hold more than 10 rounds:) they should have come to the live free or die state!:)
Thanks for the vid. Love what your doing. I think it would be awesome to see a video on how you personally mentally frame teaching skills and tactics to military and law enforcement heroes without having that same real world experiences. I mean that in all sincerity. Maybe we can shut some of these trolls up. Keep doing you brotha.
Never owned an AR15 before so I settled with a complete DD MK18 as my first👍🇺🇸 seemed like I should get a factory standard(lifetime warranty) rifle before I start building. 2yrs 5000rnds later, it’s my favorite by far. Oh and it’s my get out of Baltimore rifle if crap hits the fan 😂😂
I feel like I'm watching "Empire Strikes Back" and I dig it. Y'all look like you're straight out of Hoth, or as all the cool kids would say "Str8 Outta Hoth". Thanks for the breakdown gentlemen!
Omg so tactical! You guys are like call of duty! so sick. It was like an ultimate tactical movie with the snowmobiles pulling up and everything. So tactical!
What´s the point of having a militia, if all they do is sit eating pork chops, shooting guns all day and getting fat? I always get a kick out of them saying they need the guns to protect them from tyranny and all that bullshit, but haven´t done shit about the piss poor state of US politics for the last 40-50 years! What are you waiting for, a written invitation?? Or using that excuse to keep your toys? When are you going to fight to make your vote count for something? You talk the talk, but are too fat to walk the walk.
Really nice info being out out. Being a drone pilot my self, I really gotta applause your cameramen as well! The production value with the music, drone shots, and amazing editing is just awesome!!
After seeing how beautiful the cinematography is getting in these videos I'm kinda starting to feel like a movie would be cool. Trex arms is all about the normalization of firearms and gear. A feature length film may be a great way to do that.
Hey T.rex it would be awesome if you could make out build lists for the weapons you use. Maybe you have already done it, I think that would be great for some of us that aren't as up to date on the best internals for our setups.
I love this channel. Big fan. But when they got on the snowmobiles at the 10:00 mark, I couldn't stop thinking about when Ben Stiller got on his buddy's scooter after the girl rejected him in the movie Dodgeball. 😆
Actual question: How do you "gain access" to shooting on lakes that have homes nearby? Looking to do some shooting on Minnesota lakes during the winter. Thanks
I don't believe there is any BLM land in Vermont. You'd have to find a hunting/recreation lease to do this kind of shooting. (Or know someone who has the land, like he probably does.)
Brother, im in Minnesota as well. Our state forests you can target shoot there. You just have to be safe. The state DNR permits it within our state forests.
I run quad rails all day everyday- better mounting platform, already has rails in place to mount your gear ( I find it hilarious to mount a section of rail to mount your gear on some stuff), and the heat point you guys made. Never been a fan of skinny mlock rails in my hand, I like gripping a quad rail with a boomstick. Granted, theres other good gear out there but Im oldschool and like running mil/le stock guns with standard gear
I am thankful to God Almighty we still have men like you guys willing to stand on and defend the Bible and the Constitution. You are admirable Americans.
Just thought you might like to know. Ebay has multicam alpine overwhites from Ukraine for like $40 pants and hooded tops. I snagged a pair and they're super good quality. You can also find multicam alpine plate carriers made by stich profi a quality manufacturer who makes custom kit for thier special units in Russia
these guys are hilarious. if someone walked on to my local range with all that gear on i wouldnt be able to shoot anything i would be done . either way i love my DD MK18 it is one of my favorite rifles to shoot!
Living in Utah I Intend to have one build related to our seasonal winter... quad rail keeps shit out of your internals, I’d go with an aimpoint in colder conditions. With the eo tech having such a short battery life.. one I don’t want to take of my gloves to turn on/off my optic... plus battery life may be affected by colder temps
Bought a 16” daniel defense m4v7 and I regret that I didn’t go with a 10.3” or an 11.5”. If I had to do it all over again I would’ve just sucked it up and paid the $200 dollar tax stamp I was avoiding. By the way, loved the Mandalorian reference at the end.
It's not just a $200 tax stamp. There is a lot more to it. More restrictions. NFA items are far too regulated, and you give up too many freedoms, to make it worthwhile. Your whole life is under a microscope. You have to produce that gun and stamp for LEOs asking to see it. It's a PITA.
Would you say the Daniel Defense Mk18 is the best weapon you could pick up for a do all home defense/shtf/go to war weapon? I have the new cz Bren 2 11" Pistol which is fantastic also. I keep going back and forth debating which is the best platform and I keep going back to the Mk18 because of its proven track record. I think with a lmt enhanced bolt carrier group the mk18 cant be beat by any weapon system. What are your thoughts? Is the mk18 the first weapon youd pickup? I know your g19 is your pistol of choice. Thanks for your thoughts and for the great videos!
@@filipinophreak I agrree. Love mine. I also love the Bren 2 Pistol. Its smooth as butter. Handguard on my S model Bren 2 is a little short but its definitely everything the scar 16 should have been. But I always keep the mk18 as the #1.
@@charltont23 once u run optics and lights on a scar the damn thing weighs a prettt good bit.. the scar to me is a battle ready rifle.. mk18 for me is my personal home defense, use at work, take to trips with rifle. Its compact. Just my opinion.
I use as MY GO TO SBRS are the KAC SR 15 11.5" w/ QDC, the DDM4 300S w/ Dead Air Sandman & the SCAR 16S 10" w/ the Dead air S. They are all absolutely FANTASTIC RIFLES. The Scar 16 S suppressed with Geissele Trigger is my ABSOLUTE GTW rifle because at high round counts it just goes and goes and goes....my Direct impingement GTW rifles are the two aforementioned as they are my absolute all time favorites for smoothness, and reliability (like T-Rex I shoot about 90% of round counts suppressed....all of my rifles are 1/7 twist Chrome line CHF except my LMT's of which the SBR (is the NZ rifle but in the older Quad configuration....Completely BAD ASS also..I cannot say enough good about LMT as a viable option (except that they still sell their rifles with absolutely ridiculous semi auto bolt carriers and standard carbine buffer weights...(i've written to Karl Lewis about this because in this day and age thats utterly ridiculous)...otherwise their would have been a top 3 DI SBR's...Why I grab the Scar 16S suppressed is because that rifle can go and go and go...Ive gotten to a round count of 700 rounds within a 2 hour time span and the rifle never even coughed)! With my DI GTW rifles when I get to about 400 rounds, thats about their limit before they start to cough......and get pretty nasty....Additionally, even if the ballistics of the 300BO aren't great, its so smooth, reliable, super quiet and the Fiochii 125 grain SST's are absolutely devastating at CQB distances...... I cannot remember the last time I had a failure to feed with the DDM4300S...(I installed the Geissele Recoil buffer and spring on all of my DI rifles) .....As T-Rex said...the .MK18 300 blackout (or 5.56) is simply OUTSTANDING.....the KA SR 15 suppressed platform has been my go to ever since it came out....I have owned two and have about 25000 rounds down the pipe between the rifles....The only issue I had was in 2015 I bought about 10,000 rounds of IMI 77 and 69 grain ammo and had more blown primers than i care to remember. AT one point it got so bad that I called IMI of Israel and they ended up working with me. They had an accidental run of of a few million rounds that were "too hot"...Out of my FN M16 A4 clone, I had ammo velocity averages of 3315 FPS with 30 rounds and a SD of 14 FPS with their M193.....this is not a discussion about IMI, but they run their ammo HOT.....I love T-Rex arms....IMHO ( I'm just a swinging dick with medical degree); these guys are the REAL DEAL....The products they produce are ABSOLUTELY WORLD CLASS....and they stand up to high round counts with serious abuse....My only complaint about T-Rex arms is because i'm so busy, I never get to buy their stuff because its always sold out! Having said that, I absolutely think the world of their products, their innovation is off the charts and they practice what they preach....THE DDM300S or the MK18 (I run all of mine with the SSA, SSE, SD3G, or the Geissele specific product (Super Scar, Super Sabra, Geissele MCX) are absolutely here to stay and you would be remiss if you didn't get one...they are proven time and again, they have stood the test of time, and they are rugged as all get out! CHEERS and happy Easter / Passover to all!
I hate it when people give him shit for not being military. This country’s independence was won by military dudes and civilian warriors. It’s not like he’s claiming to be military or anything. Who gives a shit
What’s your take on running the GEISSELE MK8 rail? I opted for this over a RIS II AND I find that it’s pretty much built like a RIS II but mlok and after firing multiple rounds the rail doesn’t seem to heat up as much, the gun feels lighter up front and the doesn’t have the picatinny eating up my support hand.
I love everything about this video...an all the ones in the past. I wish I would have had half of this gear in Syria lol YPG didn't have much but we did have ammo and smokes :) yay for that
@@LordSnackx Yeah I wouldn't take alot of pride or let it be known you were a foreign volunteer for those groups. After all, can you be 100% sure the groups you swore to fight with hadn't in the past killed American military personnel or our allies during the Iraq war which I was in? The truth is, you can't....
12:39 is a great example of why you should never run in snowshoes (especially while firing a gun) and homeboy was only walking. Completely unnecessary being as the snow is likely less than a foot deep. The heel of a snowshoe should drag the surface and never leave the ground. That just seems dangerous. Gaiters and waterproof boots are more than sufficient
If you buy an Aero Precision lower parts kit, it comes with a trigger that is on par if not better than the ALG QMS trigger, for about the same price, but it comes with a whole LPK.
