This is very interesting and informative. Thank you. All life forms need sunlight to survive and not getting enough may impact health and wellbeing. Getting enough sunlight can promote optimum health.

If morning sunlight is so important why are we still messing around with daylight savings time which plunges us back into the darkness just when we started getting to school and work in daylight? Seriously starting to feel like some kind of dystopian control technique

I lived in a closed home with no light anywhere to come in. It had profound affect on my health. I used to fell exhausted. When I confirmed. I had vitamin D deficiency.

There are two main types of retinal ganglion cells, rods and cones. Both are involved in vision. :)

The reason our eyes are more sensitive to blue light is that this is the colour of moonlight. The eyes simply evolved to see better at night.

I don't think it has a message. It's describing the reduced mood in cold dark winter. That's just my opinion though.
