This video is filed with mixed emotions for both of us. Not unlike leaving the workforce, it’s tough to step back after working so hard. That doesn’t mean there’s not excitement and freedom in the mix and we’re not closing this chapter completely but this channel has been part of our identity for 4 years. Thank you for following along the way. ❤️ If it’s anything like saying FIREing from our careers in 2015, what will be the lasting result are the long lasting friendships we’ve made. I hope you’ll join our Facebook group where we’re planning frequent meetups and lots of incredible information and support from its amazing members - facebook.com/groups/552873059012708/ Hugs, Amy
I’ll miss the weekly videos, but I think it’s great that you guys will get to spend more time enjoying your nomadic life! Look forward to catching up with you guys in a few weeks.
Hey, I think you get to enjoy life. Thank you for sharing so much with us. Thanks for continuing the monthly and pop ups! We will be watching!!! All the best!!!!
I will miss your weekly videos, but I don't blame you. Life is short, and you should enjoy it! I am subscribed and will enjoy your videos when they do come out. You have inspired me, and in keeping with that, I quit my job in January! Thank you for everything, and happy travels!
One of the biggest life lessons for anyone, and especially people who are FIRE or nomads, is to always be flexible. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t had to adjust course in this journey called life. I’m so happy for you two. Thank you for all your great content.
Lot's of work behind RU-vid, I'm glad you talked about that! You all make it look easy :) Happy that you all reassessed and are making the right call for your lifestyle.
Good for you. We all need to take time off from social media and live life. Let me confess that I haven’t even been keeping up with your weekly videos. I decided to spend less time on RU-vid this year and am loving it. Besides I am subscribed to many channels, there is no time to keep up. Will still check in with you when you do post.
Good for you! I am totally supportive of your decision! I retired at age 56 and am now a Permanent Resident in Mexico! 🇲🇽 Please let me know if you ever come to Guanajuato! That is where I set up my home!😎
I'm not surprised. If I was retired I would want more time to myself also. I just found you channel and really enjoy it, but can catch up on the past episodes. Good look and enjoy your slomad life. My wife and I plan on the slomad life in 2 years and will rarely return to the US. I hope you can use the extra time to enjoy you retirement. I will continue to see you on facebook.
Wow I didn’t realize how much effort has to go into making the videos! Good for you - enjoy your free time like how you meant to do in the first place. At least you have the fb group so people will still be able to find your content through there even if they haven’t subscribed to your RU-vid channel 👍
Good for you guys!! We often get asked by people who hear our stories if we have a blog. Our response is "NO, a blog is too much like work and we will never work again." Enjoy your new free time!
We are two of those people who have been truly inspired by the two of you, informed by so many of your experiences as we retired early (particularly Escapees membership, Texas domicile, health insurance, San Miguel de Allende living, among many others), and always look forward to your Wednesday videos! But when you retire early, you deserve to enjoy it! Thank you for your many hours of hard work on this channel and priceless advice along the way. We look forward to seeing you again here whenever you might have content to share!
Good for you. Go ahead and live your life. I am not going to do anything when I retire in 5 years at 55. Only volunteer, mentor and tutor my knowledge and experience as much as I can for free (mostly).
I have been a lurker on your channel but have been quietly enjoying the journey and quoting you to my husband (Tim and Amy this Tim and Amy that). Bravo to you for discovering where your healthy boundaries are and pivoting towards them. I will follow monthly and dip into the Facebook group. Thanks for the quotable advice and stories! Happy adventuring!
Completely understand, I have really enjoyed your weekly videos over the years . I am not really a fan of short videos which seems ti now the "new" in thing. I wish you all the very best in your future travels.
If we do shorts, they would be more travel-focused. Not sitting down in front of a camera with an outline. Just showing cool stuff around the world. Like a minute or two as it strikes our fancy.
I knew eventually this would happen and congratulations! I dont do FB so I will watch you monthly in YT. I always enjoy your happy personalities in the videos and the adventures! Best wishes always and keep enjoying your retirement!!
This makes so much sense and so happy you will have this time back in your lives! We have gained so much from your videos and can still reference your channel and of course will still be here each month to watch. You have made the community you desired and there is no need to compromise your retired nomadic life any longer. Thank you for all of the great content and hard work over these years!!
I'm glad to hear you aren't leaving us completely! But good for you for calling the shots and taking things at your own pace. I'm one of those friends of yours who is inspired by you. I'm currently in Medellin, Colombia doing recon, with the hope/expectation of going FIRE in 22 months from now. Enjoy your time on the cruises!
Yes, creating content every week takes a huge amount of time that most people don’t realize. Kudos to you both for keeping it up for so long! I’m excited for you, however, to step back and enjoy yourselves, away from the demands of your previous schedule. I’m having a drink to celebrate for you! Cheers! 🎉🍹
I respect the amount of dedication that goes into making these videos. Even more so, I respect the insight and courage required to step back and do what is best for you in your retirement. I know you didn't take this decision lightly. I wish you peace and safe travels as your journey continues to unfold.
Tim and Amy, I have always wondered how you produce a RU-vid video consistently week after week and do everything else you do and still get to enjoy where you are and make plans for where you are going next! Having said that, I will be among the many who will miss your weekly posts here! But I will keep up with you on Facebook, and I’m glad you are doing what’s best for you! One of these days we will be in the same location as you! For right now we are trading places with you! We are heading to Mexico as you come to Florida! Hasta luego!
I will miss the Wednesday videos!!! Thanks for all that you have taught me so far . Knowing that your intent is to enjoy your adventures to the fullest is just another way you two inspire!
Well, CONGRATS for taking another step towards your free life. AND, thank you for sharing so much with all your viewers from the beginning. I found your content early on and watched the journey unfold. I have learned so much from both of you. It has been such an encouragement as we've prepared for our own early retirement and slow-travel life.
I think it's fantastic that you're putting yourselves first. Be free!! I've always enjoyed your videos and lived a little vicariously through your adventures. I shall miss the regular posts, but at the same time, I look forward to the unforced content that you'll put out for the sheer joy of it. The Facebook group is amazing and I really enjoy the community there. I've made connections, because of it, that I cannot thank you enough for. I'm so grateful that we got to meet you in person and truly look forward to crossing paths again soon!!
Love your content and the Facebook community. I'll still look forward to your videos regardless of frequency. Enjoy the extra time this new season of your journey.
Yes, we are "best" friends. I gasped when I saw the title. Oh, I will miss our weekly get togethers because your video was one of my week's highlights (I need to get out more lol). I totally understand your decision. I will look forward to the monthly video. I love you guys. Cynthia
Loved your videos, but glad you are taking time to enjoy your upcoming adventures. Excited to continue to see you in the Facebook group and hope to meet you somewhere in person someday.
I understand RU-vid may be demanding more for less. This is the same as being employed. 😀 You need to do to what makes it worthwhile. Your videos are very informative I hope I will remember them in about 4 years when I plan to take the plunge. More power to you. Unfortunately, I am one of those who does not to be on Facebook. I got tired of looking at pictures of food.
Yes, definitely, it's a lot of work to make a single RU-vid video. We totally understand why you would take a step back. It's more important to enjoy your lives than to be a slave to RU-vid algorithms and subscriber counts. We're also glad that you're not leaving RU-vid all together because we like this method of keep in touch with you.
Please keep your videos in the channel. I want to share your parents’ video with my children. It is very inspiring. Thank you for sharing so much of journey with us.
I definitely understand about reclaiming your time and being more focused with spending your RE time with more freedom. I look forward to the residency video(s)! Enjoy your travels and see you when I can. 💕
You're stepping back from making content and I need to step back, dramatically, from watching content. It's exhausting. I'll look forward to seeing your monthly output!
You will be missed weekly. But thanks for keeping up the videos cause you guys have a lot of helpful info on the nomad lifestyle. But continue to enjoy your time and take care.
Thank you for all the priceless information. I have learned so much from watching you both. Very happy that you are not leaving altogether. Hope to see you someday on our new adopted town, San Miguel. Best of luck!
Such an inspiration you two!!! Love GoWithLess and thanks for all your awesome videos. Enjoy your freedom and the warmer weather. Cold and snowy months here in Parker! Hope to see you guys again soon.
Although I’ll miss your videos I’m so happy for you for this decision. You deserve to enjoy your retirement by having fun and relaxation. I hear from most RU-vidrs that it’s a heck of a lot of work. I just got my temporary residency for Mexico so I might bump into to you some day! 😀 also I happen to be going to St. Petersburg in a week or two as well to visit my cousin. Let’s meet!!! 💗🥰
It would be great to meet! We get to the Tampa area on March 14th and we're there on a house sit for our friends. They head out on the 17th and we will be posting an event in the GWL FB group. WIll you be there after the 17th?
@@GoWithLess i should be there until the 21st! I’ll join your FB group and hopefully I can catch you! PS: just a heads up…that whole time will be spring break so it will be crowded and loud in most tourist areas.
Good for you two! I keep hearing the same thing from other YTuber’s I follow and I can understand how much it takes to keep things going. Though we really appreciate all your efforts and the time you’ve put into these wonderful videos, and we’ll miss seeing you weekly, we very much understand you just need to enjoy your well-earned retirement and wonderful adventures! Thank you for all the excellent information and education and we’ll watch you once a month. Take good care and enjoy more of your retirement freedom!
Good for you two! Everything has to evolve to move forward, and evolve you will. You deserve the time back to enjoy the community you have created. I agree that inspiring others is one of the most rewarding outcomes of what we do. You have certainly done that in spades and I know that will continue. For me, the most impactful aspect of your 'work' is bringing people together - and I am SO grateful for that. Thank you!!!
I have really enjoyed and learned so much from your RU-vid journey and glad that library is there to refer to later. You two redefined what i thought of as Nomads and started me wanting to go down the same path. I know you will have so much more to add and look forward to watching.
Thanks for your videos, guys. Have enjoyed them every week, and learned much. They inspired me to take control of our family finances. Not on the nomad path yet, but who knows what the future holds. Happy travels!
Hey Tim and Amy, I felt really sad to listen to this new development. You have really become a part of our lives since last couple of years. It had become a part of my routine to open RU-vid every Thursday(In India ) to see your Wednesday videos. I see both of you as my Friends, Philosophers and guides in my quest to follow the FIRE path(trying to overcome the Fear part…). Yes, I’ll surely miss your weekly videos, but I’m also happy that you are giving importance to your freedom which has always been your ultimate priority. After all, this was the very basis of you starting your journey. Looking forward to your monthly videos, with a promise to keep in touch on your FaceBook Group.
Huge Thank You for all the work that you've put into these! You helped us a lot to evaluate, prioritize and focus as well as giving us options we would not have otherwise considered. As these progressed through Covid, they were also a distraction from the crazy and a reason to stay focused on our decisions. Also, thank you for pulling us into your zoom calls, the best. Yay for new friends! :)
I've been thinking about permanent residency and US investments. We are mostly with Vanguard and they have frozen accounts when they find out that investors don't physically live in the states. There is Charles Schwab International, but I'd rather stay with Vanguard. Just wondering what you guys are thinking about that. So glad you are stepping back as that is a lot of work!
Im happy for you both!!! enjoy youre time and be free ! I would do anything and I mean anything to be free right now So I totally get it and yall are the best xoxo
I’ll miss the weekly videos but completely understand. There’s no need to retire early only to then take on an entirely new job making videos. Look forward to the once a month videos and to keeping up on Facebook.
Relax and enjoy your lives. Take some clips of places you've been. Make it more of a travelog. You don't need to give so much cost detail. I don't do Facebook. I do like to hear about travel because my husband does not like to travel. He's retired and I am workjnv 2 more yrs. I'd like to see clips of where you are visiting. Have fun and only upload a video when you feel like it. A few videos with good content will get more views .
Hope we can meet up with you in Tampa Bay area, when is it that you will be here? Have followed you weekly videos for a long time, and will miss it, but fully understand! Hope to see ya soon in Tampa Bay! Thanks for all your hard work!
Hey Amy and Tim, It's a pity that you will be available less frequently on RU-vid, but it is understandable that you want to make the best use of your time. Given that your videos are always thoughtfully curated and developed, it does take a lot of time and effort. If u ever think u can do a vlog and share your nomadic updates, which wouldn't cost a lot of time in ideating or editing, that's welcome too. Enjoy and stay well! If you have any plans to be in India, let's connect :)
I doubt there is much crossover between this channel and Eli the Computer guy, but he published a video about taking time off from YT too. He has also been on YT for many years and is taking time off. Something is going on......
You’re going to be in my old stomping grounds - S Tampa! Message me if you need any ideas of stuff to do, but you probably have every day/hour filled already. There’s a great food hall and fun River walkable area - Armature Works. Check it out!
