i really respect artists like Melanie. She has so much talent in different areas and is showing the world. Most artists are just known for the one main thing they do, music. She produces her music videos, makes the music+ the lyrics, makes a MOVIE does the choreography ect. the whole k-12 movie just displays all of her talent! I literally found out about her a couple years ago when i went camping with my family+ family friends (some who i didn't know)and one of the teens there showed me the sippy cup music video. Best week i spent camping watching her videos in the middle of nowhere next to some high teens i never even met

C00LKlDS - Yeah, it’s being of the metaphors and symbolism in her music. She often times uses scenarios like school, break up, crushes and babies to relay her message. However, people fail to realize the rhetorical value of her songs, and the mentioning of babies is only for symbolic purposes. It is not got sexual purposes. This can be seen a lot in “Pacify Her” the music video, where they are in the baby pen.

I absolutely love Melanie. I found her when I was 9, I was coloring and listening to the MC alternative pop channel on tv. Then as soon as the beat for Pity Party started I was immediately drawn to her. I just sat there and just listened to the song, then once it was over I ran and asked my grandma for her phone so I could listen to more of her music. I listened to the whole album of Crybaby and in almost every song I got chills once or twice. She had such an amazing impact on my life and changed the way I looked at music as well. I'm 13 now and K-12 was just. Incredibly outstanding.

Her song Orange Juice makes me cry from pure raw emotion despite never having gone through the topic of the song, that alone demands my respect. The concept of Crybaby is a fat ass mood for me and I'm sure many others, Mel just tells her stories and therefore all our stories so well and beautifully. Having all my feelings and life experiences being understood and aired out the way she does through her music is just...so relieving and liberating. She literally did it all by herself and that is impressive. It also feels nice for someone to also appreciate the meaning in her songs. Symon Keener For those wondering what I mean exactly, it’s this. So Angelita wasn’t in the Crybaby (Yungelita was an actor but that wasn’t a character yet) but acts in K-12 like she and Crybaby are born with these powers. Not to mention, the characters’ black eyes in Crybaby are permanently black and don’t perform any magic. This isn’t explained in K-12, where the girls’ eyes only turn black momentarily while performing magic before they switch back to normal.

Something I definitely appreciate about Melanie is that she takes risks and she doesn’t go the easy route when it comes to all of her art. The themes in her songs are something a lot of artists are scared to use and she dose it in a fabulous way by using amazing symbolism in all of her songs. Most artists stick to writing about sex,money,and drugs (like what Piper said) but she talks about the REAL problems of the world and does it in a way that can really impact you.

Low key I loved her because I searched up purple hair in August 28th 2016 and saw a photo of her and saved it. Shortly after I saw a reaction video so the first song I heard of her was carousel.
