I remember earlier this year, one of the very well-known YT families did a house tour, and a week later, someone found out where they lived and they said they had to move. Totally agree with the privacy/security aspect, plus we've seen your bedroom! Ben needs to clean his side up!

One thing i would like to see is mini tours of rooms in your house. I believe it was in a mailogical video where you said you'd think of doing mini tours of your tea closet, closet, holo glitters and things like that. I would *LOVE* to see that more than just seeing the whole house

I think it's very very fair to not want to do a house tour for safety reasons. I was trying to find a PO Box for a big RU-vidr and despite not being much of a sleuth, I was able to find their actual home address within like 4 clicks just based off of tours they once did. It shouldn't be that easy.

I just don't see you two being shallow enough to be bragging about material things.

Not a bad idea on the side of being a good neighbour as well as they likely would rather not have random people in their neighborhood checking out your home or your house layout is likely similar to a few of them and it would make potential theives have an easier to Robbing people based on how where they figured things are in others homes based on yours. I don’t know how thrilled I would be to have my neighbor the RU-vidr doing a house tour of their home if I had one

I totally agree! Sometimes people do even include a floorplan and literally open every single drawer and explain what is inside... I like my privacy a lot and would never show that much of my house

They’re right in saying that we saw a lot of rooms between her RU-vid videos and her Instagram stories lol The stuff that is missing, as they stated, is better to keep it private for security reason.

There are people out there who, once they know the layout of your house and roughly when you bought it, will look at old house listings in your area and try to find the listing from when your home was on the market and get the address. I know a smaller creator who was blackmailed cause someone found their address and they ended up moving just to be safe

I respect everyone's privacy and decisions, but for me personally, I just love house tours lol. Any time I go to a friend's house for the first time , i always ask for a house tour. I look up home decor on pinterest, and watch HGTV in my free time

it's true. someone figured out where Tom Scott was in the middle of NOWHERE based on very very scant details. It was kinda insane how they did that. It's totally possible to stalk someone this way and so it's really wise not to put your details on the internet. If we do have incidental pictures of our car or something, I make sure to obscure the plate number and stuff like that. It's basic internet safety.

I personally love house tours, because I like to see how people have their rooms decorated and laid out. I get the security issue but I have seen channels that just do room makeovers and that's cool because you can't ever see out the window or where they are in relation to everything else. I think you just have to be smart about it.

Keep us guessing, and preserve the mystery!!! Safety first as weel!!!

Super glad you guys are smart enough to not do a house tour. I mean, there's a guy on tiktok that can calculate someone's height because they had a starbucks cup in the background... People can find out where you live from a house tour for sure!

I totally agree. Don’t get me wrong I’d love to see how big and cool their house is but I’m not everyone. Sad but some people see people who’ve done well for themselves and just think about what they can take from them 🤦🏽‍♀️

I have friends who are moms and vlogers and every time they give house tours I scold them about security. Like why would you want a rober to map out your whole house before they come and rob you? Why make it easier for them and endanger your kids? Just think. Maybe I'm crazy but I see security value in privacy.

This happened to Fortnite RU-vidrs "Click" They showed like, a small piece of the outside of their place. The internet figured out where they lived. And they had people ringing their doorbell asking for like photos and stuff 😞

A Dutch youtuber once was planning to move into a new house and long before they actually moved in I already figured out where they where going just by the road they took. I live closeby and there are only 2 upscale neighboorhoods with the rest being mostly social housing 😅 After they moved, within a month or so, they complained in their vlogs people where snooping by and how they hated they didn't have their privacy. Well you kind of showed where you live, also by filming your trips to the closest grocerystore. Now they moved to a temporary rental before moving into a newly built home. And even with the rental they haven't been careful about the details that give away their location 🙈 I don't live in Amsterdam but I recognised the red tiling on the side of the houses across the street for being (close to) Diemen. People don't seem to understand how much they can give away in the little details like the view from a window.

The only reason I wanna see inside peoples houses is bc I love interior design. I just love how people translate themselves into decorating a house. That doesn’t mean I’m gonna hound someone to let me see, it’s a bit creepy.

Also to add, since you show your house to everyone, if any one of the million people that watch you happen to live in the same country or even looked at the house before you moved, it'll spread like wildfire. I understand wanting house tours like you're talking to your friends but it's risky cause its the internet and anything thats on the internet, stays there forever

I think it's very smart not to do a house tour. I know a lot of people do it, and I even enjoy seeing some homes, but I would never do it myself, even just on Facebook with my personal friends and as someone who is not a public figure.

I literally don't show my coworkers pictures of my house, why would anyone expect you to show millions of strangers (some of whom through the laws of averages are likely nefarious enough to do bad things with that knowledge?

It makes sense in this day and age for you to try to protect your privacy, security and safety.

This is why I do not understand why celebrities or RU-vidrs would post house tours. Isn't it common sense to not post your house online? I refrain posting anything relevant to where I live for this sole reason. RU-vidrs getting robbed is actually a thing and people don't ever learn for some reason.

Asking for house tours is weird and invasive and people are too nosy for their own good.
